Qingyi sensed the danger imdiately.
Even though it wasn’t a life-or-death battle, every hair on his body stood on end, and his eyes quivered as he gritted his teeth.
This might not be a fatal attack, but he had to dodge it at all costs.
Qingyi arched his body and the tip of Qingxue’s black blade grazed his throat, drawing a single drop of blood.
Spinning around, he activated the lightning steps, opening up space between him and Elder Qingxue.
"This is the only chance I’m going to give you. Use all your power, don’t hold back." The elder repeated, her cold, serene voice causing the handso young man to shiver.
That woman was truly frightening.
Qingyi sighed heavily and deactivated the concealnt arrays of the three-bladed monarch set.
His cultivation of the sixth stage of the Golden Core realm exploded with maximum power and blue lightning covered in silver threads spread across his body, burning everything they touched.
He observed Qingxue’s beautiful, delicate face.
She looked slightly surprised, she knew he was hiding his power, but she had expected him to hide only one level of cultivation, not three.
"You have an interesting concealnt artifact..." She whispered, her beautiful blue eyes studying Qingyi’s robes.
Fortunately, her interest didn’t last long, her eyes returning to their usual coldness.
Qingyi hesitated for a brief mont before activating the lightning steps again.
The air around him exploded as he closed the distance between himself and the silver-haired beauty in the blink of an eye.
He put all his strength into that attack, the pressure high enough to make the entire ground around him sink as the heaven-defying thunder sword struck Qingxue’s white sword.
Even without using her Qi to defend herself, the beautiful elder didn’t even wince under that attack.
With a gentle thrust, she pushed Qingyi back once again.
"You are powerful," she said.
"Your physical strength and Qi are in no way inferior to an Iron Body Realm novice, but..." She stepped forward, activating her movent technique.
Her curvaceous body was taken over by a violent gale, her long silver hair whipping the air as she appeared above Qingyi.
"Your form is too rough."
Qingyi raised the heaven-defying thunder sword, parrying Qingxue’s blow.
Even though she wasn’t using all her power, the difference in cultivation was too high for him to cross.

Instead of just bouncing off as it always did, the heaven-defying thunder sword slid past her double swords and at that mont, he used the first form of the storm monarch’s sword art, aiming straight for her chest.
In that brief mont, he finally saw a spot of panic appear on her face.
It wasn’t that she had any chance of being hurt by that attack, but the possibility of being defeated by a disciple of far inferior cultivation and experience.
She bit her lip as she turned her body, Qingyi’s attack passing inches from her shoulder.

Picking up the token, he looked at it.
It was a golden token, exuding a much more powerful Qi than that of the inner disciples. Its middle bore the na of Elder Qingxue.
"Elder Tian will officiate at your new position. We’ll start training tomorrow morning."
Qingxue’s voice sounded, still cold and serene, but Qingyi could still perceive a slight tremor in her words as she hurried away.
