Now reading: Chapter 266 - We have our own battle from The Corruption Dragon God: Lust System, a Smut novel by SillyDaoist.

There was a reason why no cultivators below the Burning Blood Realm were used in wars in the Nine Peaks Basin: they were useless.

In reality, even those of the Burning Blood realm were little more than cannon fodder, with only the Crystalline Core realm cultivators being considered useful, regular soldiers.

Their main use was basically to hold the back lines of those above the Nascent Soul Realm, dealing with weakened enemies and forming the bulky part of the army.

Of course, when the battlefield involved Rebirth realm cultivators, things changed dramatically.

Even those of the crystalline core realm were not safe.

"You're too compacted! Split up!" The voice of the leader of the Ice Flower Sect echoed over the battlefield.

Her small, frail body tore through the air at absurd speed, landing on the ground with a thud.

Her wrinkled face contorted as she pressed both palms against the ground.

A translucent barrier of pure ice rose up in front of her, rising hundreds of ters before curving like a frozen wave towards the advancing horde.

With a single wave of her hand, that colossal wall collapsed.

The ice lted instantly, turning into a tsunami that swallowed up the vanguard of demonic beasts - only to freeze again in the next instant, trapping hundreds of them.

That was her law: the ability to instantly change the physical states of water.

Unfortunately, that wasn't enough.

The rest of the horde simply leapt over the frozen corpses, their crazed demonic Qi colliding violently with the Qi of the orthodox cultivators above the Rebirth Realm.

The initial impact was devastating.

Anyone below the Nascent Soul Realm who hadn't already retreated was instantly torn apart by the shockwave, blood and guts painting the ground red.

The Gorge of the Dragon Blade was about ten kiloters wide at its widest point. Yet there wasn't a single centiter of it that wasn't filled with absolute chaos.

The Rebirth Realm cultivators soon took the fighting to the skies. Great pulses of energy swept through everything for hundreds of ters, making the space below shake violently.

"They can take care of themselves. We have our own battle." Yanxiao roared, his flaming eyes following the gaze of the other Transcendents.

In the distance, watching them coldly, they could see Transcendence realm demonic beasts, dozens of them.

False dragons, tigers, giant tortoises and many others... Beings whose bodies reached hundreds of ters in length, exuding a sickly demonic Qi that spread like plague for kiloters.

Those were probably all the spirit beasts from that realm in the Deadlands.

How on earth had the Demon Cult managed to gather so many? Had they used so kind of profane formation? Mass sacrifices?

The answer, honestly, didn't matter anymore.

Below them, the battle had already turned into endless carnage as the tide lines of beasts collided with the human cultivators.

If those transcendent beasts got close too... the casualties would be incalculable.

Exchanging glances, they advanced, all at the sa ti, each focusing on a beast.

Yanxiao was one of the first, right next to the leader of the Zhao family and the ice tigress, guardian of the ice flower sect and lover of the flaming tiger.

His huge jaw opened, revealing fangs the size of daggers.

The depths of his throat lit up with a deep orange light as a thin thread of Qi gathered on the tip of his tongue.

This filant spun on itself, condensing into a sphere not much bigger than a soccer ball - but burning hot enough to lt steel instantly.

Taking careful aim, Yanxiao fired.

His body weighed over two tons and he was flying at top speed, breaking the sound barrier, but he was still thrown backwards by the power of the shot.

His target was the beast in the center, a demonic winged serpent, the weakest of them all.

The snake tried desperately to dodge, its huge wings flapping with enough force to create gale force winds.

Unfortunately for it, its body was too big and heavy for quick dodges.

Yanxiao's attack hit its head with an explosion that incinerated everything within a radius of kiloters.

The heat lted its reddish scales right into its flesh. Its mouth opened in a high-pitched, desperate hiss.

Yanxiao didn't stop.

His body grew to a size no smaller than the snake's and his fangs sank into the creature's exposed throat.

For the first ti in millennia of peace, he tasted blood in a real battle - disgusting, repulsive demon blood, but blood nonetheless.

Applying pressure, he felt the once-resistant scales break, his claws tearing through flesh as he stopped the serpent from coiling around his neck.

He only stopped when his teeth t and the decapitated body fell to the ground with a thud, bathing the ground below in blood.

The mont Yanxiao finished his fight, dozens of auras exploded around him.

The skies were painted with different types of Qi, destruction taking over as far as the eye could see.

Suddenly, the fight between thousands of cultivators and beasts of the rebirth realm seed like a re competition between ants, their auras severely suppressed by the battles between transcendents.

In the midst of this chaos, a chubby figure carrying illusory Qi moved: a forr mber of the snake battalion who had recently left the orthodox alliance, just in ti to be enlisted in the main army by his sect.

Honestly, he had already regretted that decision.

To hell with seeing things he shouldn't have, things that might make Qingyi want to slit his throat - anything was better than fighting those beasts.

"Be careful, you useless fatso!"

A bang echoed as a burly warrior positioned himself in front of Heidu, raising his huge sword and blocking a demonic horned wolf

"S-shit, I'm sorry!" Heidu shouted, regaining his composure.

He pointed both trembling hands towards the bloodthirsty eyes of the beast, whose teeth were driven deep into the warrior's blade.

A burst of light followed, blinding the beast temporarily, just long enough for the warrior to cut off its head.

Heidu breathed a sigh of relief, retreating even further to the rear.

This life was not for him.

If only he had a way of retiring with great wealth, if he had enough rit for it.

Unfortunately, he wasn't at that level yet. Not without providing information of inestimable importance to the Orthodox Alliance.

He had such information, yes. But... should he share it?
