The capital of the Blue Sea Kingdom was divided into three zones.
The first zone was the earth zone, which was not walled and was inhabited by commoners and less prestigious establishnts. A poor and overpopulated region.
The second zone was separated from the first by a high and powerful black wall, surrounded by spiritual arrays capable of stopping even dozens of true immortals.
This was the cloud zone, the place where the nobility and upper class of the capital lived, with an extrely high density of Qi, fed by the spiritual vein on which the capital was built.
The third and final zone was the sky zone, ford by the royal palace itself, guarded by more than a thousand guards, its size and wealth incomparable.
As they entered the second zone, Qingyi looked up, observing the enormous building on the horizon with shining eyes.
It was like an organized cluster of traditional chinese pavilions, built with strange white wood, their roofs taking on a beautiful navy blue hue.
It was truly an incredible and imposing construction.
"Aren't there things like this in mortal heaven?" ilin asked, walking alongside Qingyi.
She had hidden her appearance with a long, elegant veil, with only her beautiful dark eyes visible.
"Yes, but not that... galomaniacal," Qingyi shook his head, holding ilin's hand.
Of course, things in mortal heaven were already made to absurd sizes compared to earth, but he had to admit that they were nothing compared to immortal heaven.
"I understand..." ilin whispered, following alongside Qingyi towards a large skyscraper on the horizon, which bore the symbol of five distinct elents on its façade: Fire, Water, Earth, Air and tal.
That was the pavilion of the five colors, or at least its branch in the blue sea kingdom.
ilin took a step forward, ready to run and question the guards, but stopped the next mont.
"Did you hear about the attack on young Miss ilin's escort?" A whisper echoed among the many pedestrians passing through the wide main street of the Cloud Zone.
"Yes, I heard that there wasn't a single survivor and that another young master from the Jin family has taken control of the branch and even declared his support for the third prince and the great sects!"
"Really? You think this has sothing to do with the fight for the throne?"
"Shhh... do you want to lose your tongue?"
ilin listened to everything in silence, closing her eyes, her fists shaking lightly.
The gold king had always encouraged competition between his children. Even she only won that position because of her talent for business.
As he had hundreds of sons, obviously not all of them could take on leadership positions, with many being forced into secondary positions, assisting sons of greater talent or helping the gold king directly.
For these, there was only one way up: scheming and killing.
"My younger brother..." ilin gritted her teeth, her eyes blazing with fury. "Father sent him to help ... that idiot must have convinced himself that he deserved to be the leader of the Blue Sea Kingdom branch!"
Without hesitation, she removed her veil, revealing her beautiful face, and walked towards the rich pavilion.
"Make way," she shouted to the guards at the main door, who froze when they saw her approach.
"M-miss ilin? Are you alive?" One of the guards stamred, but was completely ignored by the angry beauty, who stord into the central hall of the branch.
"JIN TIANSHI! CO HERE NOW! HOW DARE YOU TRY TO MURDER AND STEAL WHAT'S MINE?" She roared, her beautiful face slightly distorted into a deep scowl.
All the good humor that her night with Qingyi had brought had been completely erased.
A few monts later, a chubby, slightly frightened figure appeared. "B-big sister... I'm glad you're here, I thought I'd never see you again, hahaha, we were all so worried about you..." Jin Tianshi laughed awkwardly.
ilin bit her lower lip.
Would that bastard really feign innocence? How shaless!
"Not only did you try to assassinate , but you even supported the third prince and the great sects, Father's enemies. Return my position imdiately before I take it from you!" She snarled.
"I didn't steal anything, I took the position officially following the confirmation of your death and now, only Dad can take it from !" Tianshi declared, only fueling ilin's anger even more.
That was true, even if she wasn't really dead. After officially assuming it, only the Golden King or death had the power to remove soone from the position of branch leader.
Taking advantage of ilin's silence, Tianshi turned his face to a gentle-looking old man, his face filled with a carefree smile as he drank peacefully in a corner of the great hall, just enjoying the drama.
[What are you waiting for? Get rid of her, it's our chance!] Tianshi sent out a loud transmission.
In response, the old man just shook his head.
Despite her weak cultivation, ilin was still one of the Gold King's most beloved children.
Killing her in a hidden ambush was easy, but killing her openly, with so many eyes watching, was totally different.
He would be hunted by the gold king for the rest of eternity.
"Fuck..." Tianshi grunted, gripping the sword at his waist. "I have to do everything around here!"
"You bastard, what are you thinking of doing?" ilin's face darkened, feeling Tianshi's flaming Qi explode with full force, crashing down on her.
He was at the first stage of the ethereal body realm, far inferior in cultivation to her.
Even so, she couldn't help but shudder.
"I'll get rid of an annoying bitch!" Tianshi roared, advancing towards ilin, his sword tearing through the air with frightening speed.
The second before his blade t her neck, an angry voice echoed and Tianshi's whole body shuddered, his Qi flowing strangely, losing its strength.
Erging from Qingyi's back, the enormous figure of a dragon manifested itself, its roar causing the walls of the entire branch of the five-colored pavilion to shake.
"Brat..." Qingyi growled, his voice filled with murderous intent as he stood in front of ilin, his hand covered in black scales as he parried that attack, holding the blade of the sword in the palm of his hand.
"To dare make a move against a woman of mine... you really do have a death wish, don't you?"
