The announcent of the marriage between Long Qingyi, Elize, and Seraphine spread like wildfire, causing great shock among all the citizens of the Grand Duchy of Vaeldrinn.
Among the most shocked, naturally, were the great noble houses of Vaeldrinn.
Long Qingyi, a foreigner from a distant land and murderer of the forr patriarch.
Not only had he returned to their lands, but now he was marrying one of their people's treasures?
The fact that Elize was alive also brought shock, of course, but nothing on the level of that announcent.
Had Lord Lucios gone mad?
There was confusion and even a little hysteria, but in the end, there was little they could do.
Lucios was, at that very mont, the absolute power of the Grand Duchy of Vaeldrinn.
The other great families were fragnted, still trying to assimilate the gains from their conflict with the empire.
And in the end, he was the most powerful expert, with the most powerful dragon among the draconic elves.
If they refused any order from him, he would simply trample over them.
Furthermore, Qingyi's na had already reached those regions as well.
Many of the patriarchs of the great families had seen and felt the terror of what had happened in the capital of the Divine Kingdom of Auranys.
Qingyi had been the one who had resolved everything, the man who had closed a tear in the skies that seed to have been woven by the gods themselves.
How could they not respect him?
Their forr patriarch was a madman who wanted to drag them all into a bloody and endless war anyway.
Qingyi was a much safer bet for the great elites of the draconic elves.
And so, complaints about the marriage quickly disappeared, and the Black Castle began to receive various engagent gifts.
Qingyi, of course, couldn't give a fuck about those gifts.
He had recently reached the peak of the Astral Body Realm, and now he really didn't need much from the Immortal Heaven anymore.
The most precious treasures of those large and wealthy families were disposable trash in his eyes.
With his current wealth, he could buy astral-grade items to equip each of his wives and, if he wanted, even a personal army.
How could he care about any gifts those nobles gave him?
In the end, he accepted them only out of politeness.
At that very mont, he was in a secluded area of the Black Castle, standing on a marble platform.
In front of him was a boy with short black hair and sharp eyes, holding a blade in his hand.
He looked to be about eleven or twelve years old at most.
Despite his young age, he was already in the third ring, with a mastery of mana that had impressed even Qingyi.
He was Eric, one of Lucios' many grandsons, and despite being only Seraphine and Elize's cousin, he did not hesitate to call Qingyi his brother-in-law.
Seraphine knew he had a good personality, so she didn't mind any of that.
"Ah... brother-in-law, you're too fast!" Eric roared, swinging his sword nonstop.
Qingyi, standing in front of him, hadn't even drawn his blade.
In fact, he kept his feet firmly planted on the ground, moving only his upper body, and even so, he seed almost unreachable to the young boy.
It was like trying to hit the wind.
"I'm not that fast." Qingyi laughed, parrying the boy's sword with the
back of his hand.
The sharp blade struck skin and flesh, but it seed to have hit solid steel, ricocheting and being knocked out of Eric's hands.
The boy fell to his knees, panting heavily.
He was already recognized as one of the greatest talents of his generation, but at the end of the day, he was still just a child.
Even his dragon, sleeping beside the platform, was too small to ride.
"You're too weak." Qingyi moved his right foot, and in a single second, Eric was flat on his back.
"Ugh... one day I'll defeat you in a duel! Just wait until I grow up!" Eric roared, eliciting a laugh from his brother-in-law.
"Don't stop dreaming, kid. Hahahaha."
Qingyi turned around, walked past Eric's dragon, a beautiful beast
with blue scales and deep eyes, and walked through a large grove until he reached a table where Lucios, Seraphine, and Elize were
sitting and talking.
"Grandpa!" Eric rushed past Qingyi and threw himself into the old man's arms. "I almost beat brother-in-law in the duel! Dad will be
proud, right?"
"Almost?" The old man raised an eyebrow, incredulous.
"Well, I hit him with my sword and he didn't hit with his. That
ans I won, right?" Eric flashed a proud smile.
"It's the truth. I almost died." Qingyi smiled carefree, sitting between
his two wives.
His hands went straight to their delicate waists, pulling them into his
arms.
Lucios could do nothing but sigh in defeat.
"Go to your father. I have things to discuss with Qingyi."
Eric waved excitedly and ran back to the arena, returning to his
dragon. Soon, the boy and the beast disappeared over the horizon.
"He's a good boy..." Qingyi said, taking a bottle of liquor from his spatial ring and placing it on the round table.
"Yes... he is. With his talent, I have no doubt he will reach the twelfth
ring." Lucios poured himself a glass. "I will train him well, and perhaps one day he will beco one of the pillars of the Vaeldrinn's power." That type of drink was not common there and was usually only found when imported from the eastern continent.
So, whenever he had the chance, the old man drank heartily.
Taking a sip, he fixed his gaze on Qingyi, who had his two granddaughters in her arms.
"So, where do you plan to go after the wedding? I don't think soone so young will limit themselves to this pathetic plan, right?"
"I won't." Qingyi shook his head. "I want to visit my in-laws in the Kingdom of Valemont, kill so green skins in the western swamps, and settle a few more things on the eastern continent."
