"You have to be kidding ."

Dante glared threateningly at Jin and the rchant, who were casually camping in the open.

That was the first thing he saw after pushing the boulder away.

"Good morning..." The rchant smiled: "It’s been so long already. We can’t return to the convoy, because we won’t find any convoy! Hehe."

She stood up, struggling to balance herself, and said: "As you can see, we have no choice but to travel through this place together. We’ll just move forward and move forward until we reach our destination, so we might ’accidentally’ end up with the sa destination as you."

Dante’s eyes twitched, as she blinked innocently: "Sir, you won’t bla us for walking the sa path that your highness walked, right? You know that coincidences are things we can’t control, right?"

Dante focused on her eyes in annoyance, noticing her daze, before glancing at Jin.

"I gave her a small sip." Jin gave him a thumbs up: "You should drink so. A small sip can make you feel like... flying with no wings."

’If you an dying while driving a car by flying, then yes. I saw that a few tis on Earth.’

Apparently, either Jin had made the rchant drink more than just a sip, or she was weak against alcohol.

Regardless, he didn’t want to deal with them now.

Dante smiled coldly and said: "You’re right, I can’t bla you if you coincidentally followed . Well, I hope you have a nice day in the open, because I’m returning to my precious cave."

"Huh? What?"

Ignoring the rchant, Dante pulled the boulder to close the cave’s entrance.

"Co on, why are you so against it? We might beco rich—"

The rchant still tried to convince Dante to accept her offer, but he simply pushed her away and closed the entrance of the cave.

’Stubborn bitch!’

He couldn’t even confirm whether she was saying the truth or not. What if that fortunate opportunity required Dante’s sacrifice rather than help?

And even if it was true, wasn’t that simply a kind of luck? If she didn’t know what the opportunity was, then she was simply risking her life in an unknown gamble.

’Wait, does she have the Fortune Aspect?’

As Dante thought about that, he realized that her ability seed like everything he had seen so far from his aspect.

She could kind of detect fortune, and her Wheel of Luck showed that.

A bit similar to her ability, he could detect the misfortune of the different decisions using his coin.

’Looks tempting, right?’

All of a sudden, a centipede appeared in Dante’s mind.

’Accepting her offer might truly lead you to a good opportunity, which is sothing you might not find again even if you fixed the problem of your misfortune. Why don’t you accept it?’

Dante gritted his teeth as he walked deeper into the cave: ’Weren’t you the one who blad for everything? Are you now surprised that I don’t want anyone to suffer because of ?’

’Yes, I did.’ The centipede nodded: ’But I didn’t say that causing harm to others is sothing you have to be ashad of. That’s your trait, a piece of your soul, a reflection to your nature. Being ashad of it is foolish.’

’Instead of trying to remove your trait, you have to take advantage of it! You don’t have to avoid people because of your trait, it’s stupid to harm yourself for the others because of so useless morals. And rember that causing harm to all beings just by being close to them is sothing millions of people would kill for! That trait is a blessing, not a curse. You have to be grateful.’

’Not when I’m not a psychopathic bastard!’ Dante spat, clenching his fist firmly: ’Maybe it’s good, but I can’t control it yet. I don’t want to kill innocent children simply by passing by them.’

’Pathetic.’ The centipede sighed: ’But this still isn’t supposed to prevent you from accepting that woman’s offer.’

’After all, you have tried to refuse, going as far as running away from them, as if escaping a plague. They still ignored your warning and followed you regardless. You even told them about your trait, which is one of your secrets, but they don’t care about it.’

’From now on, whatever happens to them would be their fault, not yours. It’s not your fault that two drunk brats aren’t willing to listen.’

Dante listened to Greed in silence. He hated to admit it, but... Greed was a bit right.

And he hated that. Dante couldn’t know whether Greed was trying to help him as his future vessel or was trying to manipulate him to make a decision that would benefit Greed himself.

However, it was true that Dante did his best trying to get away from them and even told them about his misfortune.

’Additionally...’ Greed added: ’If she really has the Fortune Aspect or an ability that can mimic it, then she might counter your misfortune and lead to a neutral conclusion. So, even though it won’t be your fault if sothing happens to them, you might be lucky and take that opportunity without causing harm.’

’Not to ntion the benefits you might gain from that opportunity. The possibilities are endless.’

Dante stayed silent, not even thinking of a response. A few seconds later, he wondered: ’What if that’s a trap? Maybe that opportunity needs my death.’

The centipede tilted his head: ’Then you either kill her or die, it’s that simple. Your problem is that you have a heavenly ability to regress and are still treating it as if it doesn’t exist.’

’Oh, so you want to stop caring about my life because I can regress? No, I’ll keep these lives for ergencies, I won’t willingly let myself die for a gamble.’

The centipede raised an imaginary eyebrow: ’Ho? So if the saintess dies, you won’t regress to save her or sothing?’

’No.’ Dante answered without a hint of hesitation: ’You are right, I slightly care about her, but I won’t die for her. There is no one in this world who deserves my life.’

In Dante’s mind, he was certain that nothing could replace his ideology.

No matter how much he loved soone, he loved himself more than all of them. A person he knew for weeks didn’t deserve one of Dante’s lives.

’And that will never change.’
