{Third Person}
Inside the study, silence settled once more.
Alexander remained seated, the unopened letter still resting loosely between his fingers. But his thoughts had already drifted elsewhere.
’They are like family to .’
Her words replayed quietly in his mind.
Alexander’s gaze lowered slightly as he repeated that word, ’family’, under his breath.
The irony of that statent did not escape him because he already knew Amara was not truly a Caldwell.
At first, he had only suspected sothing was wrong. But after the incident that night—the night she beca drunk and nearly unconscious after drinking the sobering soup, his suspicions had deepened.
He still rembered clearly how strangely her body had reacted when Mrs. Woods used cold water to clean her.
The blue veins that surfaced faintly beneath her skin.
The unnatural reaction to temperature.
And the way everything disappeared again was only after warm water was used.
At the ti, he had quietly buried the matter in his mind. But now winter had arrived, and Amara was already struggling far more with the cold than any normal person should.
Alexander slowly leaned back into his chair, his gaze turning distant.
The more he thought about it, the less sense things made.
She was not a Caldwell. That much he was certain of. But now, another thought had begun settling quietly into his mind.
A deeper one.
One, far more dangerous.
What if Amara was not even fully human at all?
The thought lingered heavily in the room.
And for the first ti in a long while, Alexander found himself genuinely curious about soone again.
Finally, he let out a deep sigh. Then, his gaze landed on the letter in his hand.
After a mont of hesitation, he took the letter out of the envelope.

The next morning, Alexander sent for Mrs Woods. Not long after, she was escorted in.
She bowed respectfully. "Your Highness."
Alexander slowly placed the docunt in his hand before looking at her. "How has she been adjusting to the weather?"
Mrs. Woods imdiately understood who he ant, so she answered carefully, "Her Ladyship has been alright so far. There have been no unusual reactions recently."
Alexander remained silent for a mont, his expression unreadable. Then he asked, "Has she complained about the cold?"
Mrs. Woods nodded honestly. "A little, Your Highness. But nothing severe."
Alexander’s gaze lowered slightly in thought. The mory of those blue veins surfacing beneath Amara’s skin returned to him again.
Finally, he spoke again. "Observe her closely from now on."
Mrs. Woods blinked once in slight surprise before bowing her head. "Yes, Your Highness."
"If anything unusual happens, inform imdiately," Alexander continued calmly. "
Mrs. Woods nodded again.
Alexander then added, "Increase the warmth in her residence, especially at night." His tone remained calm and practical.
"Make sure the fireplaces are always lit before evening," he instructed. "And have warm broth prepared for her before she sleeps."
Mrs. Woods listened attentively, ntally taking note of every instruction. "Yes, Your Highness."
Afterwards, Alexander dismissed her with a simple nod.
Mrs. Woods bowed once more before quietly leaving the study.
As she walked back through the corridor, a faint smile gradually appeared on her face. The more she thought about those instructions, the warr her heart beca.
The Alpha Prince truly cared for the political bride far more than he allowed others to see.
Otherwise, why would he pay such close attention to small things like her als, warmth, and health?
Mrs. Woods felt genuinely relieved. She now truly believed that Amara might truly have a safe place here beside the Alpha Prince.
anwhile, back inside the study, Alexander stood silently near the fire once more.
But unlike Mrs. Woods, his thoughts were moving in an entirely different direction.
His concern was real, but so was his suspicion because the more carefully he observed Amara, the less convinced he beca that she was simply an ordinary human woman.

Later that afternoon, Elowen visited Amara again.
She was so bored at her own residence, with nowhere to go, and imdiately decided to see one of her favourite people to pass the ti.
The mont she entered the sitting room, she imdiately noticed the difference in Amara’s mood.
"You look suspiciously happy today," Elowen said while narrowing her eyes playfully.
Amara tried to remain calm, but the smile threatening to appear on her face completely betrayed her.
Elowen gasped dramatically. "Oh?" she said while dropping onto the sofa. "Sothing definitely happened."
Amara finally gave up trying to hide it. "His Highness agreed to invite my friends to the banquet," she admitted.
Elowen blinked once, then slowly sat upright. "So quick?" she asked.
"Yes." Amara nodded. "He said he would arrange express invitation cards."
Elowen simply stared at her. But suddenly, she burst into laughter.
Amara looked confused, wondering what it was she said that was so funny. "Why are you reacting like this?"
Elowen held her stomach dramatically. "Because this is unbelievable."
Amara frowned slightly. "What is?"
"My brother," Elowen replied imdiately. "Do you know how difficult he usually is?"
Amara blinked, neither saying ’ye’ nor ’nay’.
Elowen shook her head while laughing softly to herself.
"Alexander rarely accommodates people this easily, especially for personal requests," she said. "This is one of the reasons I didn’t want to help you pass on the ssage in the first place."
That made Amara pause slightly. "But... it wasn’t really a difficult request," she said carefully.
Elowen looked at her with an expression full of aning. "To him?" she repeated. "Everything involving unnecessary people is difficult."
Amara suddenly did not know how to respond to that.
anwhile, Elowen leaned back into the sofa again, looking far too entertained by the entire thing.
A thought had already begun forming quietly in her mind.
At first, she had only suspected her brother was becoming more attentive toward Amara.
But now?
She was beginning to feel very certain of it. And honestly, the realization was incredibly amusing because Alexander himself still looked completely unaware of what was happening to him.
Elowen hid her smile behind her cup before casually thinking to herself:
’My brother is dood.’
