Now reading: Chapter 707 - 706: One Phone Call That Became the Cause of t from The Daily Life of the Demon King, a Action novel by GreedHunter.

The group of students and two adult n were in a forest cabin deep in the woods. Only a short ti ago had they all learned that they had beco part of so insane experint against their will, thanks to Jessica's cousin nad Peter, who worked for a transnational corporation.

Even though Alex hadn't told them about all the horrors that occurred during such experints, everyone was smart enough to understand that nothing good ever happened during them. Especially after Alex showed them the live feeds from the caras inside the psychiatric hospital where the Murkoff Corporation conducted its experints on people. And seeing the condition of the deranged and disfigured patients, no one wanted to end up the sa way.

After Alex told them about his plans to release all the patients who had been experinted on, no one strongly resisted his crazy decision. After everything Alex had told them, everyone needed ti to recover and calm down. Matt was comforting his girlfriend Emily, who was nearly having a nervous breakdown because of everything that was happening at the mont.

Mike sat next to Jessica, who, instead of falling into a panic over what had happened, was in a state of rage because of her cousin's actions. Only her anger toward her cousin helped Jessica avoid falling into shock and denial that everything was happening again — even if the ones who wanted to kill them weren't bloodthirsty monsters.

Even knowing that when Alex opened the cells holding the crazies and the riot began, her cousin Pete would definitely die, Jessica only thought that her cousin shouldn't die an easy death. Mike, sitting next to Jessica, tried to comfort his girlfriend, who wouldn't stop cursing and calling Pete every possible word she could find in her vocabulary.

Chris and Ashley sat together while Chris read a long, detailed docunt containing all possible information about the experint in the "Covenant of the New Ezekiel" community. Ashley, sitting beside him, managed to read a few lines of the docunt before turning away.

She simply couldn't read sothing like that, as her mind painted horrific pictures that she didn't want to think about at that mont. Chris's gaze was glazed over as he read the docunt. Even if he wanted to express his thoughts about what he had read, he wouldn't have been able to find any words other than curses. Sighing heavily, Chris pinched the bridge of his nose and looked up at the ceiling of the cabin. And for the first ti in the six months since he had gotten involved in the world of supernatural things, he began to think that such a life was truly difficult.

Even though the current situation wasn't connected to the supernatural, Chris knew that if he continued living this kind of life, he would most likely face sothing similar again. Josh stayed close to his sister Hannah, checking on her condition. But Hannah showed that she was fine, even if she was a little scared because of everything that had happened.

Dale sat not far from Josh and Hannah and continued to cheer Hannah up, trying to show her that everything was okay and would be resolved soon. Josh, as a caring brother, looked at Dale with a strange expression, as if thinking about throwing an empty bottle at the guy who was trying to hit on his sister, regardless of the situation they were in. Only Tucker sat in silence, continuing to finish off the whiskey to calm his nerves, trying to think positively — which wasn't working well for him.

And among these voices ca Alex's voice as he spoke on the phone. No one was really listening to what Alex was saying or who he was talking to. But everyone understood that he was talking to those who would clean up the entire ss in the psychiatric hospital where he planned to start a riot.

"Hey, Sammy. Who is he talking to?" Jessica asked, listening to Alex's conversation after she stopped cursing her cousin.

"Family friends. As it turned out, my father was friends and worked with their father and uncle. And I t them through Alex. In general, we're like family," Samantha said, sitting down next to Jessica.

"What a coincidence. Wait. Are you saying your father was also part of this kind of life? Why didn't you tell us?" Jessica said in a surprised tone, staring at Samantha.

"I only found out about it myself when I moved in with Alex. And you understand, it's not sothing you talk about over the phone," Samantha said, nodding and shifting her gaze from Jessica to Alex.

"I understand. And what are these family friends of yours like?" Jessica asked with interest.

"If you saw them, you'd think they were Alex's older brothers. Especially Dean. Dean and Alex have the sa taste in music, cars, food, and many other similar habits," Samantha said, chuckling slightly.

Jessica stared at Samantha in surprise, then shifted her gaze to Alex, who was still talking on the phone. Even Mike was quite surprised by such a coincidence. At the sa ti, Alex finished his phone call, ignoring the conversations in the background. Staring at the phone screen, Alex thought about calling Integra to ask for her help.

And he knew well that Integra wouldn't refuse help in a matter like this. But before Alex could even dial Integra's number, he received a short ssage from Integra herself with the words: "Send all the docunts." Alex blinked and slapped himself on the forehead, forgetting that Integra could hear his thoughts thanks to the connection through Völundr.

While Alex was laughing at his own stupidity, another ssage from Integra arrived with one word: "Faster." Stopping his laughter, Alex quickly sent all the necessary docunts, as he knew that his wife Integra was not the most patient woman when it ca to work. After Alex sent all the necessary docunts, Integra didn't write anything else, and she didn't need to.

At the sa ti, Integra was sitting in her office, looking at her computer screen, which displayed dozens of open docunts. Reading these docunts, Integra understood what her husband wanted to achieve. Alex didn't just want to destroy several Murkoff facilities where they conducted their experints — he intended to completely annihilate everything with no possibility of recovery. After finishing reading the docunts, Integra lit a thin cigar and leaned back in her chair.

"Alucard, Seras, co to my office," Integra said calmly, exhaling smoke from her cigar.

"I hope I don't need to do anything?" a familiar voice sounded inside Integra's office.

Integra shifted her gaze to the one who looked like her husband but was only his clone, who called himself Envy. Envy looked like a ten-year-old child dressed in a school uniform, looking at Integra while holding docunts he was working on. Integra brought the thin cigar to her lips, and since Alex's departure, she had beco convinced that her husband's clones were quite strange — especially Envy, who liked to pretend to be a child.

"Go print these docunts. Then prepare dinner," Integra said, pointing at her computer screen.

"Fine. I don't even get paid for this," Envy complained, getting up from the couch and setting the docunts aside.

Integra looked at Envy with a cold gaze, making it clear that she didn't care about his complaints. Continuing to complain about being exploited as free labor, Envy left Integra's office. And as soon as Envy left, Alucard already appeared in Integra's office. Having gained new abilities after absorbing the Blood Echoes of the Great Ones, Alucard could be everywhere and nowhere at the sa ti if she wished.

She was lazily sitting on the couch with her legs crossed, as if she had been in this office the whole ti and had been present during the conversation. Alucard lazily looked at Integra with her red eyes and then shifted her gaze to her nails. Integra noticed that Alucard had stopped wearing Cromwell's seal, but it didn't bother her. The last to appear was Seras, who ran into Integra's office with Jinx, Anya, Nyaruko, Tina, and Alessa hanging on her.

Integra looked at Seras, who had five girls hanging on her, and offered Seras a seat. Next ca Doll, Maria, Alice, and Enid, who also entered Integra's office. Anya, Nyaruko, Jinx, and Tina were behaving quite quietly, considering their playful nature. After all, in the days they had been staying at Hellsing, they had managed to understand that their mother Integra was very strict about rules and proper behavior. The girls sat on their mothers' laps, looking at their mother Integra with interest.

"Lady Integra, why did you call us?" Seras asked cautiously while Jinx sat on her lap.

"Who can't spend even a single day of his so-called vacation without finding problems for himself," Integra said calmly, placing her thin cigar in the ashtray.

When Integra's words sounded, everyone understood who she was talking about. After all, only Alex could go sowhere to rest and end up finding problems that he would then have to solve. Alucard, without turning her head, only smirked, amused by how her husband had eventually found problems for himself while endlessly repeating that he would just be resting.

Alice and Enid sighed wearily, knowing perfectly well where Alex had gone. They didn't even feel like saying anything at that mont — Enid and Alice just exchanged tired smiles. Maria, elegantly sitting on a chair, raised an eyebrow for a mont, wondering how Alex had managed to find problems during a trip to the forest.

Only Doll looked worried because Alex couldn't rest, and this caused unpleasant feelings in her chest. Only Anya, Nyaruko, Jinx, Tina, and Alessa exchanged glances and laughed, because they knew what terrible luck their father had, who was always getting into all sorts of trouble.

"Heh, I told you Daddy wouldn't last even a day without finding problems for himself. Co on, Tina. Pay up. You lost. You lost," Jinx said with a gremlin smile on her face, holding out her hand toward Tina, who was sitting on Enid's lap.

"Aaaahhh! This isn't fair! I almost won. It should have been one day, not two!.." Tina shouted, grabbing her hair and staring at Jinx.

"Hehehe. Pay up. Hand over your boom-boom grenades. I'll find an interesting use for them," Jinx said, rubbing her hands slyly and looking at Tina.

"Wait, he left yesterday with Mommy Samantha, and it's already today. That ans two days. I won, you pay. You lost," Tina said sharply, staring at Jinx and grabbing her by the collar.

"No, no, no. You lost!" Jinx began to make excuses, starting to pull Tina's cheeks.

Jinx and Tina began pulling each other's faces, loudly arguing about who had lost their bet. In the heat of their battle, Tina and Jinx fell from Seras and Enid's laps and began rolling on the floor, continuing to argue. Anya and Nyaruko cheered on their sisters, who continued fighting and arguing.

Alucard smiled as she looked at her daughters and gently ran her hands through Alessa's black hair, who was sitting on her lap. Alice wanted to stop Jinx and Tina, but Anya was sitting on her lap, so she couldn't get up. Maria rubbed her eyes and looked at Nyaruko, who was sitting on her lap and egging on her sisters to keep fighting.

And the only one who could stop the two fighting children at that mont was Doll, who couldn't get close to Tina and Jinx because they were rolling all over Integra's office. Integra watched all this with a calm gaze and then brought her thin cigar to her lips.

"Girls, enough. My office is not a place for your gas," Integra said in a cold tone, looking at Jinx and Tina.

Tina and Jinx imdiately froze upon hearing their mother's cold tone. Still squeezing each other's faces, Tina and Jinx shifted their gaze to Integra, who was looking at them with her cold blue eyes. Integra brought the thin cigar to her lips again and exhaled cigar smoke, continuing to look at Jinx and Tina.

Carefully letting go of each other, Jinx and Tina straightened up and quickly fixed their clothes, still kicking each other and whispering that it was the other's fault that their mother was angry. But one look from Integra was enough for Jinx and Tina to stop and lower their heads like guilty children. Even Anya and Nyaruko, who had been cheering on their sisters, shrank on their mothers' laps, afraid to say even a word.

"I'm listening…" Integra said, tapping her finger on the table.

"Sorry, Mommy Integra," Jinx and Tina said in quiet voices, not raising their gaze to Integra.

Integra didn't respond to Jinx and Tina's apology, continuing to look at them with her usual cold gaze, tapping on the table. Jinx and Tina began to get nervous with every second, afraid of what would happen next. They knew it would be the sa punishnt their mother Alcina gave them — even more lessons. Stopping her finger tapping on the table, Integra exhaled cigar smoke and nodded, as if granting pardon to her two daughters.

Seeing this, Jinx and Tina breathed a sigh of relief, but imdiately straightened up when they saw another cold look from their mother and quickly ran to seek protection from their other mothers. Jinx ran to Seras and imdiately buried her face in her chest, feeling relief.

Tina hid behind Enid and carefully peeked over her mother's shoulder, looking at Integra. The girls were amused by how Integra had stopped the battle of two gremlins with just one look. While the girls smiled, the office doors opened, and Envy entered, holding a stack of docunts. Placing the docunts on the table, Envy wearily rolled his eyes and went to prepare dinner.

"Now to the reason why I called you. Seras, you are going to Arica to help the Winchester brothers," Integra said, taking out a docunt related to Mount Massive Asylum and handing it to Seras.

"Right now?" Seras asked, taking the docunt in her hands.

"Yes, right now. You have two hours to prepare after the consequences of the riot subside. Your task is to help the Winchester brothers clean everything up there. And help Wednesday Addams catch these two people," Integra said, tossing photos of Pete and Rudolph Wernicke onto the table.

"Um… Alright. I'll do everything I can," Seras said, taking the photos from Integra's desk.

"Alucard, here is the list of your targets. Kill everyone involved," Integra said, throwing a folder filled with lists of targets.

"Interesting… How intriguing. He decided to start a massacre all over the world. Wonderful. Simply wonderful," Alucard said, looking through the list of facilities she would have to visit.

"We're with you, Mommy Dracula. We'll help blow everything up," Jinx said, hanging on Alucard's arm.

"Good, child. I'll see what your toys are capable of," Alucard said with a gentle smile, stroking Jinx's hair.

Jinx, Anya, Tina, and Nyaruko imdiately cheered up and hung onto Alucard's body like koalas on a tree. Alucard chuckled slightly and, taking a step, disappeared from her spot as if she had never been there. Integra calmly shifted her gaze to those remaining and took out another folder with docunts, placing it on the edge of the table in front of her.

"Maria, Enid, and Alice, this is for you. Here is a list of nas of sleeper agents located in London. I think I don't need to tell you what you must do," Integra said, looking at the three won.

Maria approached the table and took the folder with the nas. Maria didn't know who sleeper agents were or what they represented, and why they needed to be killed. Looking up at Integra, Maria couldn't help but ask who sleeper agents were. Folding her hands under her chin, Integra began to explain who sleeper agents were and what they represented.

Maria nodded, morizing all the information. Soon Integra reached the part about how the people on this list beca sleeper agents and what could happen if the program embedded in their minds was activated. Enid wanted to refuse because she didn't want to kill people. Seeing her friend's condition, Alice leaned toward Enid and explained that she didn't need to do anything, as she and Maria would handle it themselves.

Enid could only sigh and nod. After learning everything she needed, Maria shifted her gaze to Enid and Alice. Holding the docunts in her hands, Maria left Integra's office together with Alice and Enid to go carry out their part of the work. When the office emptied, Integra lit a new cigar and turned in her chair, looking out the window at the setting sun. After thinking for a bit, Integra took her phone out of her pocket and dialed another number.

"What do you need, Integra Hellsing," a rough, hoarse male voice ca from Integra's phone speaker.

"Father Alexander Anderson, there is work for you in Europe," Integra said calmly, ignoring Anderson's rude tone.

"What kind of work. And speak faster before my desire to listen to your voice completely disappears," Anderson said in the sa rude tone.

"The Murkoff Corporation runs orphanages in Europe. Where they conduct experints on children, turning them into weapons," Integra said, turning her head toward her computer monitor.

"This sin is an abomination before the face of God. To defile the innocent, turning their souls into instrunts of darkness — this is not just a cri, it is a challenge to the Creator Himself. I will not allow darkness to swallow the light that burns in children's hearts. Let those who commit this evil feel upon themselves the wrath of heaven and the fla of righteous judgnt," ca Anderson's voice filled with righteous anger from Integra's phone speaker.

"I will send you all the information. What to do with those people is up to you," Integra said, sending the docunts to Anderson.

"I accept this mission and will not retreat until evil is eradicated. These heretics will drown in their own blood, in fear, pain, and despair. Just like the innocent souls they dared to torture. An," Anderson said, ending the conversation with Integra.

Looking at her phone screen, Integra calmly set it aside and continued watching the setting sun. She wasn't concerned that her husband had decided to destroy a transnational corporation and everyone connected to it. And Integra wasn't going to ask questions about how, why, or for what reason. All she intended to do was provide him with all possible support from her side.

And she had already done that. Stopping her watch of the setting sun, Integra extinguished her thin cigar in the ashtray and turned in her chair. Taking the landline phone in her hands, Integra decided to warn in advance about what would be happening in London. A mont later, Sir Penwood's nervous voice ca from the other side, who shuddered every ti Integra called him.

"Good evening, Sir Penwood," Integra said in her usual tone, holding the phone receiver to her ear.

"Good evening, Lady Hellsing. How can I help you," Penwood's nervous voice ca from the other side of the phone.

Integra began explaining to Sir Penwood what she was going to do. And her voice didn't sound like she was asking for help. Integra was informing Penwood of what she was going to do and that he was obliged to provide support in this. And knowing Integra's character perfectly well, Penwood could only continue wiping sweat from his forehead with a handkerchief while listening to everything Integra told him.

And when Integra finished speaking, Penwood could only agree, not even trying to object or refuse help. Hearing confirmation from Sir Penwood, Integra said goodbye and ended the conversation without unnecessary pleasantries.

Penwood, sitting in his office, wearily pinched the bridge of his nose and looked up at the ceiling of his office. He thought that after his promotion, his life would beco easier. But he forgot that there was one woman who would not allow him to live such a life. Sighing wearily, Penwood picked up the receiver and pressed a button.

"Connect with Sir Kingsley. Tell him it's Admiral Penwood," Penwood said, preparing to do his part of the work.

A mont later, a calm male voice ca from the phone receiver. And with the start of this conversation, Penwood began a sleepless night, and he was only able to return ho at dawn.

At the sa ti, the culprit of these events in the person of Alex was in the forest cabin, sitting at the table and looking at the tablet screen, which was broadcasting footage from the caras of Mount Massive Asylum. Alex still didn't know that he had beco the cause of a massive massacre that would occur in different parts of the world. All that interested him now was to start the riot at Mount Massive in order to move on to the next stage of his plan.

Looking at the ti, Alex nodded and set a tir for two hours on his phone. After setting the countdown, Alex pressed just one button. And at that sa mont, a security system failure occurred at Mount Massive. All the cells holding the experint subjects began to open.

To prevent the alarm from triggering, Alex imdiately disabled it. The sa thing happened in the secret underground complex beneath the hospital where the "Walrider" project experint was being conducted. After the system failure, the Walrider broke free and began killing all the researchers and guards in the underground complex.

At that sa mont, sounds of gunshots, screams of researchers being torn apart, and alarm signals began to co from the tablet speaker. Everyone flinched upon hearing such sounds. Even despite these sounds, everyone showed a little interest and cautiously approached Alex to watch.

Emily imdiately turned pale and turned away so as not to look at such a sight. Matt pressed Emily's head to his shoulder, swallowing hard and looking at all the torn bodies and pools of blood displayed on the tablet screen. Josh didn't let Hannah approach and turned away himself.

Dale imdiately stepped back, horrified by the sight he saw. Tucker only frowned and looked at his empty glass, where there had been alcohol just a mont ago. And only one thought flashed through his head: he had drunk too little to continue watching sothing like this. Samantha, sitting next to Alex, was only interested in what kind of creature was killing these people.

"God, I'm going to throw up. What's happening there," Jessica said, covering her mouth with her hand as she watched people being torn apart.

"They are facing what they created with their own hands," Alex said, not taking his eyes off the monitor.

"And what did you release? What is killing these people," Chris asked with a pale face, watching the bloody massacre.

"A weapon. And now, all the faint-hearted and pregnant, please step away from the screen. It's only going to get worse from here," Alex said, shooing everyone away from him.

"What could be worse? If we don't count the unknown entity that's killing people?" Mike asked, looking at the tablet screen with a frown.

"Have you ever seen what happens during a riot of ntally ill people prone to violence, aggression, and many other questionable character traits?" Alex asked in response, turning his head toward Mike.

"I think nothing good," Jessica said, holding back a wave of nausea from the number of corpses she saw on the tablet screen.

"Correct, Jess. Here's a candy for the right answer. And now step back further if any of you feel like throwing up on . I won't care that we're friends. I'll hit that person with a stick on the head," Alex said in a gentle tone, holding out a strawberry candy toward Jessica.

Jessica looked at the offered candy and took it from Alex's hands. At that mont, she wanted sothing sweet that could help her deal with the nausea. Not wanting to watch what was happening on the tablet screen, everyone stepped further away from Alex and sat down again throughout the living room in the forest cabin.

Only Samantha remained sitting next to Alex, continuing to watch what was happening at Mount Massive Asylum. The massacre at Mount Massive quickly gained montum, and the number of staff corpses grew at a high speed. The escaped crazies killed the hospital staff with particular cruelty.

Ti continued to pass slowly, and Alex, with a lazy expression, slowly switched between caras, looking for more interesting things. Samantha patted Alex on the shoulder, asking him to stop at the mont where one of the guards was tied to a makeshift rack to which a circular saw was attached.

Watching this, Samantha raised an eyebrow, not understanding what was happening until a man dressed in a blood-stained groom's tailcoat appeared on the screen. And what happened next made Samantha turn away. She clearly hadn't expected what would happen. And along with this, the sound of a circular saw and a loud scream of pain ca from the tablet speaker, with a barely audible male voice talking about his love.

"For God's sake, what are you watching there?" Jessica asked irritably, not intending to get up from her seat to look for herself.

"How one psychopath is turning one guard into a woman with a circular saw and confessing his love to this guard, and wants them to have children," Alex said calmly, looking at the tablet screen with interest.

"God, why did I ask… And why am I even surprised — among us sits a guy who started a riot in a psychiatric hospital and is now watching as these escaped crazies kill people. What a wonderful vacation," Jessica said, burying her face in her hands and feeling only exhaustion from the situation she found herself in.

"I can turn off the sound," Alex offered, looking at the upset Jessica.

"You should have done that half an hour ago. So we wouldn't have to listen to all these screams and all these creepy incomprehensible sounds," Jessica said, removing her hands from her face and looking at Alex with an angry gaze.

Everyone else unanimously nodded, showing that they didn't want to listen to such sounds. It was enough for them to know what was happening at Mount Massive, and they didn't want to listen to and imagine all these horrific pictures in their heads. Alex looked at everyone and just shrugged, turning off the sound on the tablet.

And to be extra sure, Alex snapped his fingers, using a spell to calm the mind so no one would have a nervous breakdown. At that sa mont, everyone felt relief, and their minds cleared, with all anxieties receding into the background. Feeling this, everyone thought it was because Alex had turned off the sound, and therefore no one paid any special attention to it.

All they had left to do in this situation was wait until everything was over and survive the coming night. Samantha saw what Alex had done and smiled, kissing him on the cheek and thanking him for what he had done for her friends. Alex just playfully winked at his wife and continued watching the cara feed. Samantha smiled again, adjusted her wedding ring on her ring finger, and leaned on Alex's shoulder, closing her eyes.

Ti continued to pass, and Alex continued to observe what the Walrider was doing, tracking this creature through the caras. Alex knew that the Walrider, which was a swarm of nanites, could not leave the boundaries of Mount Massive.

The reason for this was that William Hope, who was the core for controlling the Walrider, was in a glass capsule filled with liquid, pierced with latex tubes supporting his life.

And if William died, the Walrider would cease to exist unless it found a new host for itself. But for the Walrider to change its host, it needed a person whose mind had been broken by a large number of terrible things that person had gone through.

"I thought I heard the Old Man say: Leave her, Johnny, leave her. Tomorrow you will get your pay, And it's ti for us to leave her," Alex began to sing to dispel his boredom.

When Alex started singing, everyone paid attention to him. No one expected him to start singing at a mont like this. And they certainly didn't expect him to have such a pleasant voice. But at the sa ti, when Alex started singing, everyone relaxed, seeing Alex's carefree appearance, who could even start singing a song in such a situation.

"Leave her, Johnny, leave her! Oh, leave her, Johnny, leave her!" Mike began to sing along, hearing what Alex was singing.

"For the voyage is long and the winds don't blow, And it's ti for us to leave her," Samantha continued with a smile, swaying her head from side to side.

"Oh, the wind was foul and the sea ran high. Leave her, Johnny, leave her!" Alex continued in a drawn-out voice, raising his head to the ceiling and closing his eyes.

Alex, Samantha, and Mike continued singing, which surprisingly created a very harmonious atmosphere, despite the situation they were in. Jessica, sitting next to Mike, hadn't expected him to be able to sing so well, especially songs like these. Mike only responded with a smile to Jessica's look and winked at her slightly.

Samantha swayed from side to side in ti with the music, continuing to sing with Alex. Chris and Josh exchanged glances and began lightly tapping in rhythm to create a lody. At that mont, everyone was simply enjoying a calm mont, despite what awaited them next. This minute of peace was too important to ignore.

To be continued...

(So, I've decided that I'll reveal a small portion of the lore, through the story and dialogue. As for what happens next? Well, it's all clear. Alex goes off to kill the cultists. And then dawn breaks and everyone's happy, and everyone goes ho. As for the Murkoffs and all their institutions? Well, they ssed with the wrong family. Yeah, right, excuses about how they didn't know they were dragging the Demon King himself into their little ga. Well, now they'll have to pay for this, with everything they've got. Hehe. I'll go get sothing to eat, and thank you for reading this chapter. Peace, love, and only you can choose which world of Isekai you'll end up in. No.)
