Xu Yuxi held the Jade Pendant and notebook, stood up, and bid farewell to Tianmiao before turning around and heading out the door.
After leaving the shop, she turned to look, but where there was once an antique shop, there was now only an open lot, nothing else.
Was this a dream? Xu Yuxi looked at the notebook and Jade Pendant in her hand, certain that everything that had just happened was not a dream, but reality. What was going on? And that wish, could it really co true? What kind of price would she have to pay?
What had just happened was truly incredible.
Xu Yuxi walked down the deserted street, gently stroking the Jade Pendant in her hand. For so reason, this pendant felt very familiar to her.
Then she chuckled softly. What a strange thought, she had just received this Jade Pendant today. Why did it feel familiar?
Xu Yuxi shook her head, discarding such thoughts from her mind, and then placed the pendant in her pocket. She quickened her pace back to her residence.
She gently opened the door. Zhou Shiqiu was still asleep, unaware of her departure.
Xu Yuxi lay back in bed, thought for a mont, and opened her phone. Using the flashlight app to illuminate the notebook, she began reading the contents.
Upon reading the first page, she felt strange, because the content was about how to escape after the apocalypse, what to prepare for self-defense. This was an apocalyptic survival guide.
This was too strange. Why would the Boss give her such an odd thing? Is this a novel? It didn’t seem like it; there was no publisher’s na or publication number. Just an ordinary notebook.
Xu Yuxi pondered in vain until her eyelids began to droop. She closed the notebook, touched the Jade Pendant beside her pillow and fell into a deep sleep.
In her sleep, Xu Yuxi had a very long dream.
In her dream, she seed to be a low-level disciple in a cultivation sect. Though her aptitude and strength were average, and the sect wasn’t large, it was very united. Her senior brothers and sisters were kind and cared for her greatly. Every day, she was happy. Later, she found a Jade Pendant, a brilliant green one she thought was very pretty, so she always kept it by her side. She would talk to the pendant every day, sharing all the happy things with it.
She nad the pendant "Little Green." Her senior brothers and sisters would sotis tease her, as everyone else had spirit pets to walk about with, but no one kept a Jade Pendant.
She defended, saying Little Green was so pretty, who’s to say it won’t develop intelligence and beco a spirit? Though she herself lacked confidence in these words, knowing it was virtually impossible. All things possess spiritual energy, humans being the pinnacle. Animals find it hard to develop intelligence, plants even more so. For an inanimate object to do so was basically a wild fantasy.
Though she knew this rationale, she still carried Little Green with her every day and talked to it daily. Later, her senior brothers and sisters took her for training and accidentally discovered a Secret Realm left by a powerful figure. Inside, Little Green seed to absorb sothing, and after they ca out, it could communicate with her!
She was overjoyed and every day infused Little Green with Spiritual Energy, chattering away with it before bedti, sharing the events of the day.
However, the Secret Realm brought disaster. Another large sect coveted what they gained within the Secret Realm.
