Tianmiao and the group followed the couple to their house. It was quite a large place, a small blue tile house with seven or eight rooms in total. They assigned two rooms for Tianmiao and her group. Six people in total, the three girls shared one room, and the three boys shared another. On the way, the couple introduced themselves. The man’s surna was Jiang, but the woman didn’t ntion her surna, just told them to call her Auntie Jiang, and her husband could be called Old Jiang or Uncle Jiang.
The couple was very hospitable, and upon arriving ho, they quickly got busy. The man went to prepare dinner, while the woman made the beds.
In the evening, they had wild vegetable pancakes, stead buns, rice, and so stir-fried cured at. As Auntie Jiang said, it was indeed authentic, and Wu Yihao and the others also said it was delicious.
Before going to bed, Tianmiao, Cui Wenyan, and Bai Yue sat at the bedside. Tianmiao asked Cui Wenyan and Bai Yue, "Did you notice anything?"
Cui Wenyan frowned slightly, "Master, I’m not sure if it’s just my imagination, but I always feel the air around us is a bit off. But I can’t pinpoint exactly what’s wrong." Cui Wenyan had turned on the Ghost Radar earlier, but it showed everything was normal.
"What about you, little Bai Yue?" Tianmiao asked Bai Yue again.
"I didn’t notice anything unusual." Bai Yue shook her head lightly.
"Go call Wu Yihao and the others over." Tianmiao instructed Bai Yue.
Bai Yue nodded and turned to leave. Soon, Wu Yihao and the others ca over.
Wu Yihao and Liang Bing were yawning repeatedly. "Auntie, what’s up? We’re almost asleep. We’re really tired today."
"Stay up a little longer." Tianmiao smiled, "Let’s play a ga, a no-prize guessing ga."
"Huh?" Everyone was puzzled.
"In a remote village, a group of people ca here to explore. At the village entrance, they t an old man with a fierce look who wanted to drive them away. Because there’s sothing very wrong with this village. Here’s the question, what is the old man trying to do?" Tianmiao tilted her head and leaned it on Cui Wenyan’s shoulder, asking everyone with a smile.
Everyone’s eyes widened, is there sothing wrong with this village? Wu Yihao and Liang Bing exchanged a glance, startled and just about to ask sothing, but were stopped by Tianmiao’s next words.
"No questions allowed, only answers." Tianmiao added.
"According to the tropes in novels, this fierce-looking old man is definitely a good person, driving the group away for their own good, to ensure their safety." Wu Yihao analyzed, tugging at his chin.
"But this isn’t a novel. And earlier on the road, the driver also ntioned that the attitude towards this village was very strange." Liang Bing frowned, looking at Wu Yihao, "Since Auntie says there’s a problem, I feel like the whole village has problems. That old man is a problem, and Auntie Jiang and her husband are also problems. We’re dood. Damn, what if there was poison in the food they gave us? Ah, sorry Auntie, I shouldn’t swear in front of you."
"In any case, this village gives a really bad feeling." Cui Wenyan also said.
"We’ve only passed through this village before, and never noticed anything unusual." Luo Peng shook his head, "I didn’t notice anything out of the ordinary earlier either."
Bai Yue shook her head too.
Wu Yihao and Liang Bing looked at Luo Peng and Bai Yue with complicated expressions.
Cui Wenyan and Auntie both sensed sothing wrong with this village, but being two spirits, they felt nothing. That’s quite weak! It made them understand a bit better why a whole den of fox spirits was almost wiped out by a team of human guards before.
