"Why did you think of using a stick at that ti?" Cui Wenyan asked curiously.
Yan Qing’s expression was complicated: "It’s a long story, so let’s skip it for now. Let’s continue our mission. I’ve discovered there are two types of ghosts in this hospital. One is the kind that pretends to be crazy, which used to be the real patients of the hospital. The other is normal people who were frad and hospitalized for tornt. Handling the pretenders is easy, but those innocent normal souls might be a bit tricky."
"Alright, now we know how to deal with them. Hurry, let’s make the most of our ti," Cui Wenyan said.
"Yes, quick, quick, for the first place," Yan Qing also grabbed his wooden stick, ready to charge ahead.
In front of the surveillance, everyone watched as Cui Wenyan and Yan Qing split up into two teams, sweeping through like locusts, catching any ghost they encountered without a word. Asking if they were willing to reincarnate or not? The pretenders would get a beating, then they’d agree. As for those innocent normal souls, Cui Wenyan would just capture them first and discuss later how to fulfill these ghosts’ desires.
The numbers on Yan Qing’s wristband were rapidly increasing because after he caught the ghosts, he dealt with them, attaching guiding talismans and sending the spirits to report to the Underworld.
On the other hand, the numbers on Cui Wenyan’s wristband showed no movent; she hadn’t sent a single ghost to the Underworld.
A day and night seed neither long nor short.
The next morning, Cui Wenyan and Yan Qing t at the hospital entrance.
Then, the two squatted there eating self-heating hotpots, waiting for the announcent of the end of the competition.
The rich aroma wafted through the air.
Other competing ghost hunters ca out, exhausted both physically and ntally, and were wide-eyed when they saw Cui Wenyan and Yan Qing eating self-heating hotpots.
"Early in the morning, eating sothing so greasy, is it really okay?" soone muttered, swallowing hard after speaking. Through this day and night, they had only drunk water and eaten so biscuits. Who cos to a ghost hunting competition and brings delicious food? This is a ghost hunting competition, not a picnic. Did they also bring drinks?
"Want so hot milk?" Cui Wenyan asked Yan Qing.
Yan Qing, still with a slice of lotus root in his mouth, stared wide-eyed at Cui Wenyan: "You also brought milk?"
"Yes, I actually brought three thermoses. One with hot water, one with hot milk, and the other with hot soup. I finished the hot soup last night." Cui Wenyan said as she took a thermos from her backpack.
Yan Qing nodded like a pecking chicken after his mont of daze: "Yes, yes, I want so."
Cui Wenyan poured a cup using the lid for Yan Qing and handed it to him.
"This feels good." Yan Qing said gleefully after taking a sip, then rembered sothing and said to Cui Wenyan, "How many ghosts did you catch? Let see." Saying this, Yan Qing leaned over to look at Cui Wenyan’s wristband and saw that the number was still zero.
"Didn’t you catch a lot of ghosts? You didn’t send them to the Underworld?" Yan Qing said anxiously, "Hurry up and send them away, or they won’t count as results."
"I just made a call, and I’ll send them soon. There’s still ti." Cui Wenyan was not in a hurry at all.
"Made a call? What do you an?" Yan Qing blinked in confusion.
"Oh, I called the Ghost ssenger; he’ll be here soon." Cui Wenyan said, continuing to eat, thinking to herself that having hotpot early in the morning was indeed a bit heavy; she should’ve just eaten the cake or bread in her bag.
Yan Qing was even more baffled, blinking at Cui Wenyan like he was looking at a fool: "Cui Wenyan, are you still half-asleep? No, we didn’t sleep at all tonight. Are you just not well because you didn’t sleep, or have those pretenders rubbed off on you?"
