It was ti for our first transfer; we’d be leaving Bliss-87 behind and docking with Leisure-21. There was a significant warning to get to your room for the transfer, and people were even corralled back by a team of scolding androids, and once back in the room it was locked up and ready to make the switch. They told us people often slept through it, but Eve and I wanted to stay up and see what it was like, but to say it was beyond boring was an understatent. A silver shield blocked our view of the nebula, we heard a quiet humming and felt a subtle vibration, then 10 seconds later our view returned, barely changed from what it was before.

Our suite remained locked while the stations were still reorienting themselves—all the thousands of rooms rapidly switching between multiple stations. Eve and I decided to go for a quick skinny-dip in our pool while we waited, enjoying the beautiful view of the nebula from the far edge of our room, such a wonderful, romantic atmosphere—also Eve didn’t technically need to breath so she could stay underwater for the entire duration of a blowjob, so that was fun.

Our view started to slowly change from the nebula as we approached one of the gas giants—the purple one, HHK-33. We were far away at first but continued to drift towards its orbit, and after about an hour our suite unlocked, and we decided to head out and explore our new station.

Dressed up in simple Earth clothes of so comfortable hoodies, Eve and I got on one of the moving walkways and rode it towards Leisure-21’s paradise-core. We took a couple lifts down from our new floor, noticing very little changed on the outside of the stations—the sections with all the rooms—but once we made it to the core, we could see it was all very different. Leisure-21’s core was much less tropical than Bliss-87, and while it still had golden buildings all over the core, there was no beach in sight. Instead, this new core was an expansive, hilly field of dark flowers with orange and yellow grass. All around us were floating spheres like really small planetoids of the sa grass and flowers, so with a few buildings on them, others with just lounge areas or decks—so with pools even.

I looked across the vast fields, seeing this new paradise-core was about the sa size as the last one, but with a much higher ceiling with those dozens of planetoids floating around up to several hundred feet in the air.

“How the hell are we supposed to get up there?” I asked.

“Adam, look!” Eve called excitedly.

I turned to watch and see Eve was bouncing up and down, gaining easy montum, and with one strong jump she leapt into the air at least a hundred feet high.

My responding smile was wide like an excited kid’s, “No way, so kind of gravity manipulation?”

“Join !” Eve called out, slowly floating back towards .

I crouched down and jumped up myself, rocketing into the air easily. Eve reached for as I soared by her, grabbing and pulling into an embrace, joining in with my montum as we both continued to float up high. We spun around together, hugging and laughing like children we were so excited.

“Playing with gravity and flying around like this has been sothing I wanted to do since leaving Earth.” I told Eve.

Eve’s eyes sparkled with pure joy, “Really? Must’ve been annoying there’s so much artificial gravity in space.”

I nodded along, “You’re telling .”

We floated back down together, and on the descent we seed to slow down even more the closer we got to the ground, and when we were just a few feet from touching down, we slowed to almost a complete stop as we gently landed back on the grass together.

I looked off in the distance to see people all over jumping high into the sky, lots of families and children on this station having fun with the weak gravity. I looked around for the nearest planetoid, seeing it was maybe 200 feet in the air. I pulled Eve in close, and she let out a cute little trilling giggle, “Let’s go exploring!” I called, then jumped off towards the floating planetoid.

As we soared through the air and got closer to the planetoid, it seed like it started pulling us closer, shifting us in the air so we started falling down towards it. Eve giggled again, squealing with delight as she kicked her legs a little like she could barely contain her amusent. We rotated around and slowed down in the air, touching down on the planetoid as gently as could be. I let go of Eve and walked around, trying to see if anything felt different.

I shook my head, astounded at this magical technology, “Everything feels normal walking around, it’s only when you jump off the ground you get the floaty gravity.”

Eve nodded, jumping over to , and floating back down gently, “It’s like the higher you go the easier it is to fly; on the ground everything is normal, and when you start returning back down there’s this little cushion of gravity that resets you all so gently. It’s wonderful!”

I quirked up an eyebrow at her, “Are you really so astounded by all this crazy space-age magic? I an I have nothing as a fra of reference, but you lived at least for a short ti in that lab where they created you.”

Eve shrugged as she bounded back over to , “I don’t really rember much from my ti on NX-947b, and the little I do rember honestly I’ve kind of…repressed.” She grabbed my hand and held our hands up together, “Rember, I want to be mostly human with you, so I want my mories to start more on Earth—my experiences more centered on Earth. And that way I get to experience all this with you for the first ti too.” She leaned up on her tiptoes to give a quick kiss, “I want to share all my first ti experiences with you, grow our mories together. I think it’s all much more fun that way.”

I nodded along at that, “Yeah, that makes sense.” I waved around at the floating planetoids, “But with your supercomputer brain, could you figure out how all this works—explain the magic?”

Eve scoffed, “I could, but where would be the fun in that?” She smiled mischievously, then jumped up and away from , heading off towards another planetoid.

I chased after her, both of us laughing and giggling like a couple of kids. We continued jumping from planetoid to planetoid, passing by other people playing chase all throughout the paradise-core. We continued rising up higher and higher, until we ended up at the highest planetoid right by the open ceiling where we had a great view of HHK-33 as our station moved into its orbit.

Eve and I laid down in the grass together, on my back with her snuggling against , draping her leg over my lap, playing with my hair and massaging my neck with her tentacles. I had my arm wrapped around her, and she had her sleeves rolled up so I could trail my fingers along her perfect silky skin.

“Adam?”

“Yeah?”

“If you could choose any life to live, anywhere in the universe, any kind of planet, where would you want to go?” Eve asked softly, her head resting against my shoulder.

We’ve talked about it before, our dream world and dream life, but with every new experience in the Empire, the answer always seed to change. “Like just one planet?” I asked, and Eve nodded. I sighed and shook my head, “I don’t think I could choose just one, I think I’d rather see them all.”

“Really?”

“Why, you’d rather settle in one place?”

Eve shrugged, “I think so, yes. I find myself craving a simple life more and more lately.”

I quirked up an eyebrow, “A simple life like back on a farm on Earth?”

Eve chuckled at that, “Not necessarily Earth—obviously it holds a special place in my heart.” She leaned up and pulled my head forward and gave a tender kiss, “But you hold my heart more than anything, so wherever we end up I would just like to be together.”

I shook my head slightly, “I dunno, I still like the idea of having adventures with you.” I nodded up to our view of the purple gas giant, “Stuff like this, you know?”

Eve giggled at that, “Is this really much of an adventure? We’re basically on vacation—hardy even a mission.”

I sighed, “Enjoy it while it lasts because once we locate Gamma-12 I’m sure all this relaxation will end quick.”

Eve was silent for a few monts, trailing her fingers through my hair, her tentacles moving to massage my shoulders now.

“You know…I don’t have to tell the mission team if I discover Gamma-12.” Eve finally said.

I leaned up to look at Eve, seeing she wore a guarded expression, “What do you an?” I asked.

She shrugged into my shoulder, “I an I’m their only chance at ever finding Gamma-12, so if I never admit if I discover her or not, they would be none the wiser.”

I felt a nervousness grab hold of my stomach, “Have you felt her yet—have you lied about being able to sense her?”

Eve shook her head quickly, “No Adam, and I would tell you right away no matter what—I’d never lie to you.”

My nerves quickly relaxed—not really sure why I felt anxious in the first place, maybe concern Eve had been lying to after all? And if she lied about that—I shook the thoughts away, refusing to borrow any trouble.

“Would you really want to do that?” I asked quietly.

Again, Eve shrugged against , “I will do whatever you tell to do.” She said seriously.

I had to admit there was a part of that really liked the idea; there was no way the investigation team would ever learn the truth—they were completely reliant on Eve’s senses. We could just stay on the vacation tour for the full year, probably jump on another one next year too—maybe a third one after that. But what if mission command learned the truth sohow—found out we’d been lying? We definitely wouldn’t be trusted after that, and either they’d dispose of us or at least lock Eve away in a cage again. No, it would all be too risky.

“You don’t like the idea.” Eve confird.

I nodded, “They hold too much power over us to risk it—my life and yours, they could end us both so easily.”

Eve looked at again, her eyes searching mine, “You know I could still kill them all, destroy The Radiance, keep you safe until I eliminated all our enemies. They really couldn’t do much against , if you really want to be free.”

That nervous feeling rose up in my belly again, but this felt more instinctive; despite her love for , it didn’t change the fact Eve was the most dangerous lifeform in the universe.

I shook my head, “I don’t want to talk about that Eve; we’ll figure out a way to be free, and we’ll do it without hurting any of our friends.”

Eve leaned her head on my chest, her eyes wide with worry, “Are you upset with ?”

I frowned thoughtfully, “No, why would you think that?”

Eve half-shrugged but didn’t answer.

“Evie, talk to .”

Eve looked away from , “I don’t have attachnts to anyone else aboard The Radiance, not like you do.” She turned back to , “You are the only person I care about in the entire universe.”

I cocked my head to the side, “What about our friends—Zyno, Kianna, everyone else who’s been kind to you, treated you like a person, surely you care about them?”

Eve was silent again for a few more monts, and in her silence I heard the answer, “You would really be okay with just killing them all—for my sake?” I pressed.

Eve nodded, “I would do anything you ask of , Adam; I would kill or consu anyone in our way, I would make and unmake the entire Empire for you. We could go back to Earth and make you the god-king ruler of all mankind. Whatever your wish, I would grant it.” She confessed.

Eve had told before how she would do anything for , but that always seed like it was focused on specifically—please and make happy. I realized now she was really opening up, revealing the deep obsession she had for . I told her I was obsessed with her too—addicted to her, but I could see now the unfathomable depths of her Predazoan love for —a re human to be consud by the love of this Outsider god with power beyond ti and space.

I felt a shiver run down my spine, but it wasn’t fear—I certainly wasn’t afraid of Eve at all now. No, I was afraid of the power I had over her and the responsibility of wielding such power. I could make and unmake worlds now; all I would have to do was ask Eve to do it for .

It was a terrible burden I wasn’t ready for.

“Please tell what you’re thinking.” Eve asked almost desperately.

I sighed and pulled her into my embrace, “If you want to experience our love as a human, sotis you need to reign in that Predazoan power of yours and act like a human.”

Eve wrapped her arms around , desperate to get as physically close to as possible, “Sotis it’s hard to narrow my perception down so small; despite my best wishes sotis it’s hard to just be human.”

I looked down at her, “Well I’m your beacon, right? Maybe you just need to focus on .”

Eve fixed with a flat look as though I was dumb, “Adam, I am always focused on you; everything about you constantly fills my thoughts and senses, sotis I can’t even think—”

I put a finger to her mouth to silence her rambling, “Right, you think of in your Predazoan way, with your mind and senses all over the cosmos centered around .” I lowered my hand, “So stop thinking about like that and instead think of like a human—not a mate or a Pri or the center to your drive to supremacy, but just your simple boyfriend, with simple thoughts and simple desires.”

Eve opened her mouth as though to protest calling myself simple, but shut her mouth, then she gave a small smile, “I can try.”

“And know that I love and trust you beyond any doubt, Evie. I know you say you don’t care about anyone else, but I don’t believe it.” Again she opened her mouth to protest, but I kept going, “I don’t an to say you wouldn’t kill for , but I bet any money in that Predazoan core of yours with all that human DNA and your desire for human experiences, there’s sothing of a conscience in there, and it might take years but guilt and sha would eventually develop once you realized you killed those people who called us friends.” I smiled, “You told before I protect you from yourself, here’s where I make my stand to protect you.”

Eve gave a small smile, and I could see tears shimring in her eyes, “You really believe in that much?”

I leaned down to give her a kiss, and I wiped away her tears with my thumb before they could even fall, “Absolutely. It’s not that I love you just because you’ve made yourself into my perfect match; I love you as a person and I know that person has good in her—a very real human good.”

Eve smiled brilliantly, she rolled over to lay on top of , wrapping her arms around my neck, kissing deeply, “I love you so much Adam.”

“I love you too Evie.”

We were affectionate for a little while, cuddling and gently making out, but as we shared sweet nothings and oaths of eternal devotion, our bodies couldn’t help but react to each other.

Eve pulled away, straddling , eyeing the bulge in my pants hungrily. She looked all around us, “You know it seems pretty secluded up here on the highest planetoid; I don’t think anyone else will be up here to interrupt.”

I smiled eagerly and complied with my Predazoan girlfriend’s wishes. I wasn’t sure about all the rules of Glorva Corp, but I assud up there on that planetoid, Eve and I broke at least a couple together.
