Su Xingyan paused slightly, why did he dislike Han Jing?

Was it because Han Jing was ugly? No, of course, it wasn’t just that. Initially, he disliked Han Jing indeed because she was ugly and had a bad temperant, making him the laughingstock of the entire Capital City. How could he not dislike such a woman?

Later on, everything Han Jing did made him extrely disgusted.

So now, he couldn’t really say what exactly it was that made him dislike Han Jing. Perhaps when one truly detests soone, they find everything about them repulsive!

The Emperor, looking at Su Xingyan’s expression, sighed: "Enough, enough. If you truly don’t want to marry Jing’er, then make it clear to her during the autumn hunt. If she agrees, I’ll issue a decree to annul your engagent."

Although the Emperor didn’t want to break his promise to his sister, seeing the two kids in such a dispute, forcing them to beco husband and wife would likely lead to an unhappy future. Even though Jing’er was not his biological niece, he had watched her grow up. Although a bit spoiled, she was a simple and kind child. He didn’t want this marriage contract to lead to unhappiness for both of them.

Su Xingyan did not expect the Emperor would say such a thing, but his heart wasn’t eased. How could his father sincerely wish him well when he was prepared to send him back to his fief because of Han Jing?

Nonetheless, Su Xingyan still expressed his gratitude: "Thank you, Father Emperor, for your grace. Your son takes his leave."

The Emperor waved him away.

Still worried that Han Jing might have really poisoned him, Su Xingyan, after returning to the mansion, sent for doctors skilled in detoxification from the Capital City to treat him.

Yun Feng, who recently, had been particularly interested in Han Jing, heard that Su Xingyan had been poisoned by Han Jing and was searching everywhere for a doctor to detoxify him. He felt a burst of curiosity and, after disguising himself, entered the Prince Ling Mansion, tagging along with a group of doctors to check Su Xingyan’s pulse.

After examining him, Yun Feng almost burst out laughing. Who sent this fool Su Xingyan, thinking a re cold was poison—it must be a brain malfunction!

Yun Feng remained composed, listening to the surrounding doctors discuss. So said Su Xingyan rely caught a cold and was not poisoned, while others, perhaps braver, seeing how certain Su Xingyan was about being poisoned, agreed with him.

This led to the doctors holding differing opinions, almost erupting into an argunt.

Yun Feng, sporting a few tufts of fake beard, stood among the doctors, barely managing to keep from laughing off the disguise. Suddenly, Su Xingyan called him: "You, co here."

Yun Feng, holding back laughter, pinched his thigh hidden in his sleeve before approaching Su Xingyan, trying to maintain a serious facade: "What can I do for you, Prince?"

"You’ve discussed for so long, have you discovered which poison I’m afflicted with?" Su Xingyan inquired.

Feigning seriousness, Yun Feng nodded: "You are indeed poisoned, Prince. The poison is called ’Cold Thread.’ Those poisoned suddenly feel cold, their limbs stiffen, the chill sinking into their body, lingering for days! If not detoxified in ti, it starts with whole-body cold, leading to a chill, and progresses to worsening conditions until it becos incurable. This poison originates from a venomous insect in the far north, its threads invisible, tasteless, and formless, hence ordinary people would misdiagnose it as simply catching a cold."
