Gu Jiaojiao was so tired she didn’t want to move an inch, but she still wanted to take a bath.
Thinking about that scoundrel’s antics, she lifted her foot and gave him a little kick.
"This queen requires a bath."
Leng Yuan chuckled.
He got dressed, went outside to haul the wooden tub into the room, and then brought in hot water.
He adjusted the water temperature until it was perfect.
Watching the man bustle about, Gu Jiaojiao felt a wave of contentnt.
’I just wanted to show him that he’s not the only one who can wear soone out. I can do it too.’
Just as Leng Yuan finished preparing everything, Gu Jiaojiao was about to ask him to leave.
But Leng Yuan had already walked over and scooped her up in his arms.
Gu Jiaojiao panicked, clutching the blanket tightly and refusing to let go. She glared at him, looking utterly exasperated.
"Get out. I can do it myself."
A light chuckle escaped Leng Yuan’s lips. "Weren’t you just crying about how tired you were? You seem to have plenty of energy now. Perhaps we should do sothing else before your bath."
Gu Jiaojiao gritted her teeth.
’This scoundrel of a man was truly shaless.’
She steeled herself and squeezed her eyes shut.
’It’s not like there’s any part of he hasn’t already seen. What’s the big deal if he looks again?’
Leng Yuan certainly lived up to her expectations. He didn’t just look; he explored every inch of her body with his hands. And not only that, he proceeded to wear her out all over again.
Gu Jiaojiao ca to a conclusion: ’Trusting a man’s words was less likely than pigs flying.’
"Leng Yuan, you just said... you said..."
"I said we’d get so ’exercise’ if you didn’t let help you with your bath. I never said we *wouldn’t* if you cooperated."
Gu Jiaojiao: ...
’Look at him! That smug, satisfied look on his face... how could he say that with a straight face?’
’Ha. Ha. Ha!’
"If I ever trust you again, I’ll... I’ll take your surna, Leng!"
Leng Yuan burst out laughing. Lying on the bed and propping his head up with one hand, he continued to tease his little wife. "Then you’d have to be called Leng Jiaojiao. That doesn’t sound as pretty as your real na, does it?"
Flustered and annoyed, Gu Jiaojiao knew she couldn’t win a verbal spar with him. She turned over abruptly, giving him her back.
She burrowed under the covers, fuming.
The man chuckled and tugged at her blanket. "Don’t smother yourself in there. Co on, I’ll stop teasing you."
This only made Gu Jiaojiao angrier. She wrapped the blanket around herself even more tightly.
"Hmph! I’ll just stay in here and suffocate, then you won’t have a wife anymore."
Leng Yuan was completely chard by her antics. A low chuckle rumbled from his chest, and his usually deep eyes now sparkled with light.
’His little wife was just too adorable.’
Gu Jiaojiao turned her head and found herself looking straight into a pair of shining eyes.
Before Gu Jiaojiao could react, Leng Yuan pulled her, blanket and all, into his arms. His voice was husky as he said, "Just stay by my side, and I’ll give you anything you want."
Gu Jiaojiao: ...
’Aha, my chance.’
"I want you to... finish faster in the future."
Leng Yuan: ...
"Anything but that."
Gu Jiaojiao sneered inwardly. ’Shaless man, going back on his word already!’
In the end, Gu Jiaojiao simply fell asleep in his arms.
After all his "tornting," she was already dead tired. The only thing that had kept her awake was his constant teasing and her own refusal to lose. Otherwise, she would have been off visiting the Sandman long ago.
When she woke up the next day, she was alone again.
Gu Jiaojiao still wasn’t quite used to it. She snuggled under the blanket for a while longer before finally climbing out of bed to have breakfast.
The house and yard were already tidied up, leaving Gu Jiaojiao with no chores to do. So, she slung her specially made burlap sack over her shoulder and headed for the mountain.
She ran into quite a few people along the way, and their gazes were invariably drawn to her, their eyes filled with stunned admiration.
Everyone in the Qingshan Team knew that Gu Jiaojiao was a beauty.
She had always been beautiful, like a delicate flower.
But since her marriage, she had beco sothing else entirely.
Her skin was growing fairer, her complexion rosier, and her lips looked luscious and inviting. Her figure had beco even more captivating; the woman practically glowed with beauty.
She drew all eyes wherever she went.
"That Gu Zhiqing has been much more hardworking lately, always running up the mountain. Seems she’s learned how to manage a household. But I swear, every ti I see her, she looks even prettier than the day before. How is that possible?"
