When Feng Ergou saw Xu Wenwan, his eyes instantly lit up.
Ever since their encounter at the threshing ground, her image would pop into his mind from ti to ti.
After asking around, he found out she was the village chief’s daughter who had returned from the city.
In that mont, his heart sank.
Then, when he heard about Xu Wenwan and Yun Hao, Feng Ergou locked himself at ho and cried his eyes out for a whole day.
Now, seeing the woman he liked, Feng Ergou’s eyes followed Xu Wenwan, almost uncontrollably.
Just as he was lanting how his love story had ended before it even began, he suddenly saw Xu Wenwan turn and smile at him.

Xu Wenwan tilted her head slightly. Catching sight of the person following her in her peripheral vision, a glint appeared in her eyes.
She slowed her pace, waiting for Feng Ergou to catch up. Then, her foot stumbled, and she looked as if she were about to fall.
Seeing this, Feng Ergou’s heart skipped a beat. He imdiately rushed forward and grabbed Xu Wenwan’s arm to steady her.
Xu Wenwan grasped Feng Ergou’s hand and fell into his arms.
Instantly, a wave of body odor almost made Xu Wenwan gag.
But for the sake of her destiny, she endured it.
Feng Ergou, unaware of any of this, was completely dazed.
With a soft, fragrant woman in his arms, he felt drunk without even having a drop of alcohol.

He asked with a smile.
"Wen Wan, are you all right?"
Xu Wenwan put on a pained expression. "I think I sprained my ankle. Can you help over to that rock to sit down?"
She pointed to a rock so distance away.
Of course, Feng Ergou was happy to oblige.
They walked slowly. Once they reached the rock, Xu Wenwan stopped moving, simply holding Feng Ergou’s hand without letting go.
Feng Ergou couldn’t help but feel his heart flutter with affection.
When he looked at Xu Wenwan again, he was startled.
’How is it that in the ti it took to walk a few dozen steps, Xu Wenwan has gotten prettier?’
’She was pretty before, but just prettier than the average girl. Now, not only is she prettier, but her skin seems to have gotten much fairer and smoother.’
Feng Ergou scratched his head, a look of confusion on his face.

"Wen Wan, do you want to sit down?"
Feng Ergou asked with concern.
Xu Wenwan looked at Feng Ergou, coldly pulled her hand away, and said impatiently, "It suddenly doesn’t hurt anymore. You can go now."
With that, she walked away at a relaxed pace.
Leaving a dumbfounded Feng Ergou behind.

Unable to figure it out, Feng Ergou scratched his head and prepared to go ho.
He could normally walk this path with his eyes closed.
But today, he tripped and fell flat on his face, getting a mouthful of dirt.
It was a nasty fall, too; his forehead was even bleeding.
Dazed, he lifted his head and saw a pair of cloth shoes.
Feng Ergou looked up and t the smug face of Chen JianShe.

’What rotten luck. Why’d I have to run into this jinx?’
Ever since Chen JianShe had beaten him up, Feng Ergou had despised him, avoiding him like the plague whenever he saw him.
Chen JianShe had a nasty mouth. Looking at Feng Ergou sprawled on the ground, he mocked him without holding back.
"Feng Ergou, even if you’re bowing to , if I catch you hanging around Brother Leng’s house again, I’ll still beat you up."
As he spoke, Chen JianShe raised a fist.
