Chen Yan’s husband snapped a few harsh words at her, so she gave up worrying and decided to just let it be.
Wang Youcai ca out and saw Leng Yuan standing in the courtyard, emanating a cold aura. He spoke up.
"Leng Yuan, what are you doing here?"
Although they had been on good terms as children, he hadn’t had much to do with Leng Yuan since his parents passed away.
Leng Yuan’s gaze was calm, his tone deceptively casual. "I’m here to fight."
Wang Youcai was speechless.
"Whoa, no, brother, let’s talk this out! Fighting won’t solve anything!"
Wang Youcai was terrified.
Others might not know Leng Yuan, but he knew him all too well.
Leng Yuan had been forced to train in martial arts since he was a kid. By the ti he was twelve, he could kill a wild boar all by himself.

Just outside the door, Leng Yuan tossed him onto a haystack.
Wang Youcai was so scared he started to cry.
"Leng Yuan, if you’re going to beat , at least tell why!"
’He’d never done anything to provoke Leng Yuan.’
So Leng Yuan decided to make sure he knew exactly why he was getting beaten.
"Your wife bullied my wife!"
’Wife?’
It took a long mont for Wang Youcai to realize who he was talking about. Leng Yuan’s new wife was Gu Jiaojiao, the Educated Youth.
’That wife of mine bullied Gu Jiaojiao?’
Just as he was starting to put the pieces together, Leng Yuan’s fist landed on him without an ounce of rcy.
Wang Youcai was in agony.
Leng Yuan’s fists were as heavy as boulders, and each blow felt like it was going to knock his soul right out of his body.
"Leng Yuan, I was wrong! I’ll go back and teach that damn woman a lesson, I swear she’ll never bother your wife again!"
"SOB SOB SOB, I really know I was wrong."

Wang Youcai thought that saying was a load of crap. If you weren’t crying, it just ant it didn’t hurt enough.
’What kind of wife did I marry? She does nothing but stir up trouble for all day long.’
"AH... AHH... IT HURTS... Eldest Brother Leng, I was wrong, spare !"
Leng Yuan held Wang Youcai down and gave him a thorough beating. He only stopped when he couldn’t find a fresh spot to land a punch.
"Alright, go on ho. I’ll be back for you next ti."
Leaving him with that promise, Leng Yuan turned and walked away.
Wang Youcai’s body trembled at his words.
’He’s coming back?’
He felt like he’d lost half his life this ti. Two more visits like that and he’d be eting King Yama.
The more he thought about it, the angrier he beca. Clutching his face, Wang Youcai decided to go ho and give that damn woman a thorough beating.
He scrambled to his feet and dragged his limping leg and swollen, pig-like face back ho.
The mont he walked in the door and saw Chen Yan and Wang Daniu happily eating, his face flushed with anger.
’Why should I have to take the fall for the trouble this damn woman caused?’
’This is so unfair!’
Chen Yan turned around just then and jumped in fright when she saw Wang Youcai’s swollen face.
"Youcai, what happened to you?"
Wang Youcai snatched up a nearby feather duster and gave a grim laugh. "You’re asking what happened? Why, for no good reason, did you have to go and provoke Leng Yuan?"
"You damn woman, you’re just asking for a beating, aren’t you? Out of everyone you could have picked a fight with, you just had to provoke that walking disaster. Are you trying to get killed?"
His anger mounting with every thought, Wang Youcai brought the feather duster in his hand down on Chen Yan.
Wang Daniu glanced over from the side, then went right back to gnawing on the flatbread in his hand. He didn’t feel the slightest bit of pity for his mother, Chen Yan.
The Wang Family lived in a rather remote spot, but Chen Yan’s shrieks and wails could be heard from a great distance.
However, no one went to break up the fight.
Chen Yan was an unreasonable woman who was always taking advantage of people. Plenty of her neighbors had been on the receiving end, so naturally, no one felt sorry for her getting a beating.
Gu Jiaojiao didn’t know about any of this. She had rested at the Zhao family’s ho for over half an hour before Leng Yuan arrived, and then she followed him back.
When they got inside, she happened to catch sight of a bloodstain on Leng Yuan’s hand and couldn’t help but lift his hand to get a better look.
There was no wound.
"Where did this blood co from?"
Leng Yuan glanced at it. It must have been Wang Youcai’s.
He then washed his hands in the basin before speaking.
"I just went and gave Wang Youcai a beating."
