Gu Jiaojiao wasn’t gone long before she returned.
She ca inside and shut the door.
She was holding a few items of clothing in her hands.
"Sweet Girl, Xiao Yang, I made these for you a while ago. I was going to give them to you, but then the incident with the Lin Family happened."
"But now is a good ti too. You can wear these tomorrow!"
She knew Sweet Girl and Xiao Yang didn’t have any warm clothes, so these would be perfect!
Sweet Girl hadn’t expected the clothes to be for her, and her eyes imdiately welled up with tears.
The sa went for Xiao Yang; his eyes welled up too.
Seeing that the two of them were on the verge of crying, Gu Jiaojiao reached out and ruffled their hair.
"Alright now, no crying."
"You should be happy to get new clothes."
"It’s getting late, so you two should get so sleep. I’ve put the clothes on the bed."
Gu Jiaojiao placed the clothes beside their pillows, then moved the kerosene lamp to the bedside table to make it easier for them to extinguish it.

He wasn’t crying.
Seeing that Sweet Girl really didn’t need his comfort, Xiao Yang calmly lay down under the covers.
He pulled the quilt over himself.
He pulled it right over his head.
Only when he was surrounded by darkness did he begin to whimper like a small animal.
After a few sobs, Sweet Girl suddenly felt that sothing was wrong. She listened carefully and realized the sound was coming from Xiao Yang.
Startled, she wiped away her tears and threw back the covers.
"Xiao Yang, what’s wrong?"

She anxiously felt Xiao Yang’s forehead and found he wasn’t running a fever.
This left her confused.
Xiao Yang’s face flushed red under her gaze.
’He was a big boy now. Having his vulnerable side seen like this made his face slowly flush red with embarrassnt.’
Sweet Girl just kept staring at him.

Sweet Girl ran a hand through her hair. It was the first ti she realized her little brother was starting to have a mind of his own.

Sweet Girl felt a surge of joy.
She felt more and more hopeful about the days to co.
She went back to her side of the bed.
She picked up the clothes, treasuring them, and stroked the fabric over and over.
The fabric of the new clothes was soft, thick, and warm.
