Leng Yuan grabbed Chen JianShe by the collar, stopping him from rushing forward. Still, seeing the trio’s funereal expressions, Chen JianShe couldn’t help but scoff.

According to the rules, whoever killed the boar got to take these parts ho.
In the distance, Chen Shulan, who had been eyeing the offal, imdiately protested.
"On what grounds? The pig’s head and offal might not be the tastiest, but it’s still at! It should be divided among everyone."
She’d been hoping to get another share!
And now Leng Yuan was being allowed to take all of it.
She wouldn’t stand for it.
If the at had been given to anyone else, she wouldn’t have had a problem.
But she absolutely could not accept it going to Gu Jiaojiao and Leng Yuan.
If that couple hadn’t been so nosy yesterday, her house wouldn’t have been emptied out.

The team leader’s head throbbed.
"Leng Yuan is the one who hunted this boar. According to the rules, he’s entitled to a larger share. He was supposed to get thirty pounds of pork, but he offered to share it with everyone. Now he’s just taking so offal, and you’re upset?"
"If you’re so upset, then put your share of the pork down and leave it."
"And that goes for the rest of you! Anyone who’s not happy can just not eat any pork at all."
"Don’t you dare eat the pork he hunted while bad-mouthing him behind his back. A person who does that has no conscience, and a person can’t live without a conscience."
The team leader laid into the crowd.
His words made many of the villagers’ faces burn with sha.
They had, in fact, been thinking the very sa thing.
They felt they deserved a share of the pork because they’d worked the fields all year.
Leng Yuan was a teacher at the commune. He had an inco and lived a more comfortable life than them. Why should he get an extra share of the boar at on top of that?
Now, after being scolded by the team leader, they realized just how absurd their thinking had been.
He was the one who’d hunted the boar. Without Leng Yuan, they wouldn’t have gotten squat.
But none of them would ever admit to having had such thoughts.
And so, all their condemnatory gazes fell upon Chen Shulan.
