Chen Beiguo had been caught up in his happiness, but now that reality set in, he grew worried.
"This feed is a huge problem."
Raising pigs for half a year for nothing would require an enormous amount of feed!
Forget about how much money they could make later; the real question was whether they could even survive until then.
Leng Yuan looked at Chen Beiguo. "Weren’t you already planning to clear so wasteland? If you plant so grain, that should be enough."
Chen Beiguo had indeed been planning to do just that for so ti.
But clearing wasteland wasn’t sothing that could be done overnight.
The land was next to the mountains, where the soil was hard and full of rocks. It was far from easy to clear. On top of that, there was already plenty of work to do on the farm, and not enough hands to go around.
With so few people and such difficult land, clearing even a few acres in six months would be an impressive feat.
The harvest from a few acres would be nowhere near enough to feed eighty pigs that weren’t bringing in any inco.
But the agreent was already signed. There was no point saying anything at this stage.
Chen Beiguo steered the donkey cart out of the courtyard and onto the street.
「anwhile.」
Xu Wenwan forced herself out of bed and used her task points to exchange for so pain relief pills from the system.
The system had initially refused.
However, if Xu Wenwan didn’t go to the County Town, her career storyline would be completely severed, which would affect the plot’s future developnt. So, with the future in mind, the system relented and made the exchange.
With the pain relief pills, Xu Wenwan took the four bars of facial soap she had made and went to the agreed-upon eting spot: the crossroads on North Street.
By the ti Xu Wenwan arrived, they had already been waiting for an hour.
They had co to believe Xu Wenwan had scamd them, and the two n were just about to leave.
Just then, they saw Xu Wenwan running toward them, a cloth bag slung over her shoulder.
Xu Wenwan had run all the way there. Upon seeing the two n, she stopped to catch her breath.
The two n didn’t care whether she was tired; all they cared about was the facial soap. They spoke eagerly the mont she was in earshot.
"Have you made the facial soap?"
Xu Wenwan nodded, still panting, and took the bars of facial soap out of her bag.
The two n glanced at the bars, puzzled. "These look different from before."
Xu Wenwan saw their clueless expressions as they examined the soap, and she couldn’t help but smirk as she explained.
"There are many kinds of facial soap. This type is an essential oil soap. Not only does it clean thoroughly, but it also has a wonderful scent. Here, sll it if you don’t believe ."
The two n took a sniff. The scent was indeed pleasant, with a faint floral fragrance.
They examined it for a mont longer, and after confirming that Xu Wenwan’s soap was similar enough to the kind they were familiar with, they finally relaxed.
"Co with us to see Mr. Jiu. If this is the real deal, we’ll buy this batch of facial soap. From then on, you can just deliver it directly to us whenever you make more."
’This could be a long-term business deal.’
Xu Wenwan’s mind raced. ’The ingredients cost less than twenty cents a bar, and I can sell them for a dollar each. I’m going to make a killing!’
The more she thought about it, the more excited she beca. Without a second thought, Xu Wenwan followed the two n.
She, a young woman alone, didn’t even stop to consider the potential danger.
Xu Wenwan was completely preoccupied with her facial soap.
’I transmigrated into this book from the future,’ she thought. ’I have advanced technology. With just a little effort, I can easily surpass everyone in this era.’
’In my past life, facial soaps ca in all shapes and sizes. So even had dried flowers embedded in them to make them more aesthetically pleasing.’
Xu Wenwan had wanted to add dried flowers too, but it was the dead of winter. Where was she supposed to find any? So, she had simply left them out.
’Even without the flowers, it’s not like anyone here can surpass anyway.’
Xu Wenwan followed the two n for two blocks until they reached the mouth of an alley.
The two n turned into it.
The alley was long and narrow, opening into a sparsely populated residential area of detached, single-courtyard hos. A quick glance revealed not a soul in sight.
Xu Wenwan couldn’t help but hesitate.
’I didn’t think about my safety before.’ Now, she was beginning to have regrets.
