The entire grain drying ground was covered with corn from eight hundred mu of land. The yield per mu ranged from five hundred to seven hundred jin—more for fertile land, less for poor soil.
Estimating an average of six hundred jin of grain per mu, there was a total of four hundred fifty thousand jin of grain here.
After subtracting the portion they’d processed yesterday, there were still about four hundred thousand jin left.
A large machine could thresh about eight thousand jin of corn per hour, and there were two of them. Gu Jiaojiao’s small machine could handle another fifteen hundred jin per hour. At that rate, it would take about twenty hours to finish all the corn with the machines.
By comparison, it would take the several hundred villagers seventeen or eighteen days to do the sa. A simple calculation like this made the thresher’s advantages obvious.
And because the results were so impressive, when Gu Jiaojiao arrived at the grain drying ground, she was t with unprecedented enthusiasm.
"Gu Zhiqing is here! Let tell you, this thresher is just fantastic. How on earth did you co up with sothing like this? It not only saves ti and effort, but it gets the kernels so clean."
It was even cleaner than when they shucked them by hand. There was no need to double-check their work at all.
When doing it manually, they sotis had to use their hands to get the stubborn kernels off.
Hearing the villager’s words, everyone else imdiately nodded in agreent.

It was the first ti they realized farm work could be this easy.
In previous years, threshing all this grain would have stripped the skin from their hands. But this year was different. All they had to do was step on the pedal, and the corn was threshed. It took hardly any effort at all.
When soone got tired of pedaling, another person would imdiately take their place. The tired worker would then go shuck so corn by hand for a while. By rotating like this, no one felt tired in the slightest.

Hearing this, the crowd couldn’t help but look over at Wu Cuizhi with smiles on their faces.
She was the one who had been going around the village proclaiming that education was useless. But then the amazing Gu Zhiqing went and built this thresher the very next day. Who would dare say education was useless now?
Feeling everyone’s eyes on her, Wu Cuizhi simply turned her head and got back to work, adopting an ’out of sight, out of mind’ attitude.
Seeing Wu Cuizhi act this way, the onlookers all started to laugh.
Gu Jiaojiao couldn’t really help with the threshing, so she went to watch the others who were shelling peanuts.
She saw the villagers had placed a board on the ground, standing it upright. They would strike the peanut plants against the edge of the board four or five tis, and the peanuts would be knocked loose.
In her previous life, Gu Jiaojiao had personally visited and inspected the places where raw materials were grown for her skin care product research. She had seen the local thods for harvesting peanuts, which were much simpler than using a wooden board.

Gu Jiaojiao stood and waited. Soon, she saw Leng Yuan walking over quickly, pushing a flatbed cart.
She had seen other people pushing these carts before; it usually took two or three n to move one. But Leng Yuan, his arms taut and his body brimming with strength, was moving faster than a cart pushed by three people.
’She had no idea where this man got so much strength.’
But as Leng Yuan drew closer, Gu Jiaojiao imdiately went to help him.
Leng Yuan, however, dodged her.
"Don’t touch it. It’s a bit heavy, you won’t be able to push it."
Gu Jiaojiao felt a little snubbed.
She was indignant, but she also knew her own limits. So, she just waited on the side for Leng Yuan to set the cart down before walking over.
