"Ehehe, as long as you like it, Master Lynn, next ti I’ll secretly wear it for you to see."
Natasha felt a bit shy after being praised by Lynn, scratching her head and chuckling twice, as if she’d found a ton of gold.
Seeing Natasha’s reaction, Lynn breathed a sigh of relief. Luckily, this little female dragon wasn’t too bright and was quite easy to please; otherwise, he would have been in a tight spot.
"Alright, enough monkeying around. Little Yuri and Little Yuna ca all the way here to freeload. Helena, have you arranged the banquet yet?"
After settling Natasha with little effort, Lynn looked at Helena. Although it wasn’t quite alti yet, the kids had intentionally eaten less breakfast than usual in anticipation of the palace’s delicious food, and they were likely getting hungry.
"Starting this early? I’ll arrange it imdiately."
In front of Lynn, Helena didn’t have an ounce of the emperor’s dignity; she even enjoyed being ordered around by him.
All these years, no man had ever made her lower her guard. Now that she finally t one, she was determined to hold on tight.
If Natasha could do sothing, so could she! And she could do it better. After all, compared to Natasha, her legs were actually longer and whiter, just usually hidden beneath the imperial robe.
As the Emperor of the Celestial Destiny Empire, it wasn’t difficult for Helena to arrange a luncheon. She was gone for less than five minutes before returning, only to find everyone already seated in the palace.
Perhaps to comfort Natasha or for so other reason, Lynn was sitting beside her, and Natasha was holding a chubby cat in her arms.
Catherine was squeezed in with the two little ones, perhaps to help them during the al. Another little one was holding that cat, which made Helena a bit embarrassed, as she couldn’t tell which was which after they put on identical outfits.
But it wasn’t a big deal; once she had more free ti after dealing with national affairs, she would definitely spend more ti with Lynn’s little girls, and naturally, she would be able to tell the twins apart.
"Please wait a mont, the imperial chefs are already preparing."
As Helena spoke, she took a seat next to Natasha. With Lynn present, she wouldn’t sit on the throne, but she also didn’t want to crowd Lynn with Natasha, so she joined Natasha for now.
"Have the matters on Sifrin’s side been sorted out? It must have cost quite a bit?"
Seeing Helena seated, Lynn took the opportunity before the food arrived to ask about business. Although it didn’t require his involvent, he was currently residing in the Celestial Destiny Empire, so it was closely related to him.
"The commission for the Light Judge was indeed costly, but I can still afford it. After their involvent, the Empire’s economy will face significant turmoil, but I have a backup plan that should stabilize things if managed properly."
Helena wasn’t without preparation when she decided to engage the Light Judgnt Hall. The situation might not be as simple as she told Lynn, but she had anticipated the worst outcos, ensuring she wouldn’t be caught off guard.
"The Light Judges are indeed ruthless in their thods, but they are trustworthy."
Lynn nodded in agreent with Helena’s decision.
Lynn was fairly familiar with the Light Judges, having mingled in the Light Empire for quite so ti and even reached the position of Grand Duke there, interacting with various factions.
He had been involved with most of the Light Church Court’s task forces, except for the Divine Mage unit, and had also served as a Light Judge himself for three months.
From his personal experience, his impression of the Light Judges was simple...
Upholders of justice, upright in character, embodying righteousness, full of integrity...
Err, that last one is not...
In summary, the Light Judges were those extre paragons of virtue who could bite a zombie and turn it human again.
This was completely different from the early Western fantasy novels Lynn had read, where the Light Church was often portrayed as the villain and the Light God as a so-called Evil God.
But in the Miracle World, it wasn’t like that. At least from Lynn’s years of close interaction with various levels of the Light Church Court, he had never discovered any heinous acts, apart from skimming off robes.
Of course, there was an exception, the sole exception – Sifrin...
She was simply that kind of... how to put it, calling a woman a hypocrite seems inappropriate, yet oddly fitting.
When handling serious matters, Sifrin was a reliable cleric, but when not engaged in serious work, she was wild and unruly, capable of anything.
Including, but not limited to, diluting holy water, trafficking bootleg bibles, impersonating for sting operations, frequently withholding subordinates’ wages, appropriating gifts ant for believers at year’s end, stealing neighbors’ dogs, spreading salacious rumors about the Holy Son of Light...
Anything imaginable in terms of misdeeds, she had so involvent; even unfathomable misdeeds she could probably be half-involved.
Previously, Lynn hadn’t had much interaction with her, but enough to actively dislike her.
If she could be both beautiful and kind-hearted, she would surely be the best heroine in a Saintess losing her virtue plot, but instead, she was like a husky, untouchable.
In comparison, Lynn would even prefer cold treatnt over talking to Sifrin.
"Three thousand Light Judges, the task could take up to three months, or as short as one month, then Catherine, I’ll need you to go thank His Majesty the Saint Emperor properly on my behalf."
At that point, Helena had to ntion Catherine. Without her relationship with the Saint Emperor of Light, the Light Church Court wouldn’t have so easily agreed to her request. After all, this was disrupting the entire old order in the Celestial Destiny Empire, an act of reckless abandon. The pressure from the other Seven Great Empires was undoubtedly significant; without a connection, the Saint Emperor of Light would have to seriously consider the opinions of the Seven Great Empires.
"There’s no need for that trouble; I’ll have Sifrin take a gift back. Akelie will be delighted."
Upon hearing Helena’s plan, Lynn had a different opinion. His progress with his wife Catherine was slow, and if she were often away, it would be even slower.
There was no need for his beloved wife to personally thank the old Saint Emperor of Light. Let the annoying Sifrin take a gift back; after all, he had plenty of Light Elent treasures he couldn’t use anyway...
