If the underground cities weren’t cleared out, reclaiming lost grounds would be in vain and could even place them in danger.
However, clearing out the underground cities was extrely difficult for the Continent Alliance. Not only was the dark underground environnt more suitable for the Demon Race’s combat, but the layered geographic environnt made it hard for large armies to deploy, preventing rapid advancent and making it challenging to clear out every corner.
Only the Demon Race, with billions of clans, could construct such complex underground cities so quickly. History has even recorded an underground city 99 levels deep, which required a military force of tens of millions from the Continent Alliance and took three years to conquer.
But all of this beca a thing of the past after the divine weapon descended from the heavens and wiped out the demon leaders a year ago.
In that war between gods and demons, the Demon Dragon Emperor rallied various demons and not only brought the mighty armies of the Demon Realm but also withdrew main forces from various underground cities, intending to destroy the Divine Protection Continent in one fell swoop.
Honestly, it almost succeeded, reaching all the way to the World Tree under the True God’s protection.
Unfortunately, a miracle descended from the heavens, causing the Demon Dragon Emperor’s efforts to fall through, along with a majority of the Demon Race’s foundation, though it wasn’t reduced to barely surviving, it certainly wasn’t as glorious as it once was.
After the war between gods and demons, the Demon Race’s main forces retreated and fled, driven out from the Divine Protection Continent, only halting their decline after losing half of the Divine Protection Continent.
After losing the main forces, the remaining underground cities on the Divine Protection Continent beca isolated, faced with being picked off one by one.
Over the past year, the Continent Alliance dispatched troops to extinguish hundreds of underground cities, encountering little resistance. However, the work wasn’t over due to the complex underground environnt and the myriad of underground cities the Demon Race constructed like stars in the sky.
Yet, the Continent Alliance didn’t consider the leftover Demon Race underground cities as a major threat. After all, they were only defended by the old, weak, and ill, at most sheltering so remnants when the Demon Race’s main forces retreated, incapable of causing a significant stir.
But Lynn recently received intelligence from the Lust Demon King that a high-level Saint Tier Great Demon had erged in an underground city. If this information reached the Continent Alliance, it might give them a cold sweat.
To Lynn, a high-level Saint Tier Great Demon was just a larger grasshopper at level 700, but to the Continent Alliance, no longer protected by the player community, it was top-tier combat power.
