Life Crane Sect.

Fu Ming trudged toward the Heavenly Respect Pavilion, his steps faltering. Every couple of paces, a violent cough wracked his body.

As he walked, he slowly ca to a halt and looked to the southeast, where a burst of light had just erupted.

Even from a kiloter away, the light was as blinding as the sun.

A faint smile touched Fu Ming’s lips.

But just as he looked away, ready to continue toward the Heavenly Respect Pavilion, his feet froze. He gazed toward the southeast once more.

"This won’t do... Senior Brother!"

He shook his head gently, then changed direction and headed toward the place where the light had erupted.

...

One breath!

It had only taken a single breath.

Zi Luan hadn’t even had ti to reveal his true form before he was reduced to a pile of ash in Yang An’s hands.

Watching the gray-white ashes of annihilation scatter from his hands to the ground, Yang An reflected on the man who, a mont ago, had been alive, and was now utterly obliterated.

’Life is so fragile.’

In truth, even if Zi Luan’s power hadn’t been sealed by the old man and he was still at the Visceral Stone Realm, Yang An would have attacked anyway.

The final result would have been the sa no matter what; it just would have taken a little more ti.

But he had chosen to strike while no one realized he had reached the Visceral Stone Realm.

He wanted Zi Luan to experience the terror and panic of facing a Visceral Stone Realm expert with only the strength of the Primordial Feeding Realm.

It was the complete domination of a superior over an inferior, a powerlessness that bred despair in one’s heart.

After all, back when he was only at the Middle Stage of the Primordial Feeding Realm, Zi Luan had used his Visceral Stone Realm Cultivation Level to attack him.

If Fu Ming and the others hadn’t shown up in ti, Yang An would have suffered a great loss, if not death.

Well, well, well. How the tables have turned.

Now he was the strong one, and the strong should thoroughly humiliate the weak!

He casually scattered the remaining ash from his palm, dusted his hands, and considered whether he should go to the Heavenly Respect Pavilion now and have the old man make good on his promise.

The part of the Cultivation Technique that Zi Luan had possessed was now useless to him, but he had to get the right to perform the Visualization Earth Spirit Stele.

But just as he was hesitating, his ears twitched. He turned his head to the left, where a burly figure was slowly approaching.

TAP—TAP—TAP—TAP—

His footsteps were clearly light, yet the sound they made seed to shake one’s very soul.

Looking at the newcor, Yang An’s guard went up instantly.

The man had a rugged, muscular build. His clothes were dirty and tattered, and he reeked of sweat, exuding a wild aura.

A long tail dragged behind him, bare and thick like a massive earthworm.

It was none other than Elder Life Crane’s first disciple, Wild Forbidden!

"Greetings, Senior Brother."

Yang An watched Wild Forbidden warily.

Aside from his Second Senior Brother, he rarely saw his other sect-mates. This was especially true for his Senior Brother, Wild Forbidden, whom Yang An had only seen a handful of tis since joining the sect—he could count the encounters on one hand.

But for Wild Forbidden to appear right after he had killed Zi Luan was too much of a coincidence.

Wild Forbidden slowly approached, stopping just a few ters from Yang An.

He first glanced at the ashes on the ground, most of which had already been blown away by the wind. Then he looked at Yang An, a smile spreading across his face.

"Impressive work, Junior Brother!"

"You flatter , Senior Brother."

Yang An remained polite, but he didn’t dare take his eyes off Wild Forbidden.

"May I ask if you have business with , Senior Brother?"

It was obvious Wild Forbidden had co for him. His path had led straight here; he couldn’t have just been passing by.

"Yes, I do. You shouldn’t have killed him."

Wild Forbidden nodded lightly, his tone utterly flat, as if he were discussing sothing trivial.

But his words made Yang An’s heart clench.

’So he is here about what happened with Zi Luan.’

"This was Master’s decision!"

Yang An retorted.

"No, no, no. He was Master’s disciple. The fact that you killed him has nothing to do with why I’m here,"

Wild Forbidden said slowly.

"Then what you an is...?"

Alarm bells were screaming in Yang An’s mind. He was ready to summon the Buddha’s Radiant Wheel and use the Light and Shadow Escape Technique to flee at any mont.

As the old man’s first disciple, Wild Forbidden was undoubtedly the most terrifying person in the entire Life Crane Sect, second only to the old man himself.

His madness, his power, the suffocating pressure he exuded—it was all unparalleled.

"I’m here because you killed him. You killed my forr pet, and that’s not sothing I can just let slide.

So, Junior Brother, are you going to give a reason?

For example... a reason not to kill you!"

Wild Forbidden had been smiling the whole ti, but as he spoke that last sentence, the smile slowly vanished from his face.

"..."

Yang An didn’t hesitate. The Buddha’s Radiant Wheel appeared before him in an instant, and his entire body transford into a shadow, reappearing two hundred ters away in a flash.

But in that sa mont, a figure appeared on his escape route with even greater speed. A thick tail was already whipping toward his chest.

A chill shot down Yang An’s spine. ’I can’t escape!’

The gap in their Cultivation Levels was too vast. Wild Forbidden was simply too fast; not even the Light and Shadow Escape Technique could keep up with him.

In a flash, a brilliant light flared, and Yang An transford into a humanoid figure suffused with five-colored light.

’Qi Guang Technique, absorb!’

At the sa ti, countless rays of Golden Radiance materialized from all directions, forming several walls of light in front of him.

Just then, the tail struck, shattering the walls of Golden Radiance before him. Its montum unchecked, it slamd into Yang An’s chest.

A spray of blood mist erupted from Yang An’s back as Wild Forbidden’s tail pierced straight through his chest.

Forcing himself to endure the excruciating pain, Yang An seized the opportunity to use the Light and Shadow Escape Technique again, escaping a hundred ters away just as the tail was about to shred his body.

A fist-sized hole now ran through his chest, clean from front to back. Fortunately, he had already entered the Visceral Stone Realm, and the wound began to heal in an instant.

But before he could even catch his breath, a sudden gust of wind blew from behind him, and a tall figure once again lood over him.

The hair on Yang An’s body stood on end as he threw a punch behind him.

Empowered by all the Light Magic he had absorbed, his punch could have pulverized the physical body of any other Visceral Stone Realm cultivator at his level.

But in the next second, Yang An was sent flying backward like a streak of light, glowing with a faint cyan aura. He crashed into the residences behind him, half his body crushed as if by a colossal blow, flesh and blood mangled.

anwhile, Wild Forbidden stood his ground, looking at his own hand in confusion.

He had just t Yang An’s punch head-on, but now only half of his arm remained. The other half had been instantly annihilated into ash.

However, in the blink of an eye, countless tendrils of flesh squird wildly, and the lost arm was restored to its original state.

Wild Forbidden imdiately transford into a black shadow and charged toward Yang An again.

Just then, from the direction Yang An had been thrown, countless golden lights shot out like bullets, a dense barrage aid straight at Wild Forbidden.

Wild Forbidden paid them no mind, letting the golden lights strike his body one after another. His flesh was torn open and healed continuously as he appeared before Yang An in a blink, throwing another punch.

Yang An crashed through several houses, his shattered body rapidly healing. He only had ti to control the Great Brightness Buddha Golden Zen Spell in an attempt to block Wild Forbidden, but his pursuer caught up and threw another punch.

Fuck!

Yang An gritted his teeth. The Buddha’s Radiant Wheel materialized in front of him, only to be shattered by Wild Forbidden’s punch, which once again pierced through his chest.

But in the next mont, a blinding light erupted from Yang An’s body, instantly engulfing Wild Forbidden.

BOOM—

A column of dark red fire flared within the light, but it lasted only for an instant before being subrged again by the endless radiance.

ROAR!

It wasn’t until a soul-shaking dragon’s roar echoed between heaven and earth that five enormous fire dragons appeared, managing to block half of the intense light.

The next second, a massive ball of light shot out, once again collapsing several residences and carving a long trench in the ground.

When the light faded, Yang An was coughing up blood, gasping for breath. His entire body was on the verge of total collapse, his flesh so disintegrated and rotten that it looked as if it would shatter at the slightest touch.

On the other side, the five giant fire dragons dispersed. Nearly half of the flesh on Wild Forbidden’s body had been lted away, revealing bone, yet it all regenerated in an instant. He looked at Yang An with a hint of surprise on his face.

The difference was too great! Yang An was no match for Wild Forbidden at all!

In terms of Cultivation Level, combat power, and physical recovery speed, the two were on completely different planes.

And this was with Wild Forbidden not even using his full strength. Yang An was being completely suppressed, toyed with like a mouse by a cat, utterly unable to fight back.

His wounds were healing rapidly, but he watched as Wild Forbidden started walking toward him again. This ti, his pace was extrely slow, but his expression grew increasingly crazed and excited, his bloodlust now completely undisguised.

Yang An knew he couldn’t escape. It would be all too easy for Wild Forbidden to kill him.

’In that case...’

"Bow Lady! Help !"

He abruptly took off the Vulgar Mouth Bow slung over his body, and then retrieved the already purified Unidentified Arrow from his at Burial Talisman!

He had kept the Vulgar Mouth Bow on his back the whole ti. The artifact, forged by the Workshop Master of the Jade Refining Workshop, was terrifyingly durable; it hadn’t sustained a single scratch during the entire battle.

As for the arrow in his hand, it was once one of the Twelve Royal Treasures used to suppress the Kui. It was connected to the Southern Dipper Celestial Sect’s Forbidden Artifact and had been tainted by Kui Blood. Its power was far beyond that of any ordinary Magical Artifact.

Perhaps this was his only hope of survival.

But to fire this arrow, he needed the help of the Vulgar Mouth Bow.

"You little bastard! Now you co crawling to ! Why the hell should I help you? I won’t!"

The Vulgar Mouth Bow, which had been silent until now, spoke up, flatly refusing Yang An’s request.

The Workshop Master had forged the bow only after learning that Yang An had obtained the arrow, and while she had given it to him, she never said it had to help him.

Given Yang An’s previously dismissive attitude, it refused to help!

It wouldn’t help him even if he died!

"Flesh and blood! Fine wine!"

Seeing Wild Forbidden getting closer, Yang An’s blood pressure soared—so much so that blood started gushing from his healing wounds. He shouted his offer imdiately.

"And handso n! I want fifty handso n!"

"Deal!"

’Son of a bitch! Go to hell!’

Yang An’s eyes turned cold. He nocked the arrow, drew the bow, and instantly took aim at Wild Forbidden.

But then, countless threads of blood coalesced from the arrow’s nock, frantically wrapping around his hand. Realization dawned on Yang An, and he once again activated all his Light Magic.

An intense light flashed and vanished. All five colors of light converged on the hand gripping the arrow, flowing rapidly along the blood threads and into the Unidentified Arrow.

He felt his Mana drain completely in an instant, yet the Unidentified Arrow in his hand didn’t leak the slightest hint of an aura, as if everything was brewing, waiting to erupt.

A crazed killing intent appeared on Yang An’s face.

’This arrow... it’s going to defy the heavens!’

"Quick! Pull my string tight! I’ve already locked onto his aura for you! Shoot him! Shoot him dead!"

The Vulgar Mouth Bow’s excited and thrilled voice echoed in Yang An’s ears.

However, just as Yang An was about to release the arrow, Wild Forbidden suddenly stopped in the distance, the crazed, bloodthirsty look on his face vanishing instantly.

COUGH! COUGH! COUGH!

A violent coughing sound suddenly cut through the air.

Sohow, a frail figure had appeared between the two of them.
