Yang An gestured for him to be quiet, his gaze fixed on the outer edges of the Mingxin Zen Courtyard.
Many Zen Masters lived within the Mingxin Zen Courtyard, but the appointed hour had not yet arrived, so all was quiet.
Outside the Zen Courtyard, however, there was already a great deal of activity.
There was about one incense stick’s worth of ti left until the Joyful Shrine Association began.
Yang An stood quietly outside the Zen Room, simply waiting for the hour to arrive.
Guang’an knew sothing was wrong. He looked uneasy but didn’t dare to speak, keeping a careful distance from His Highness the Buddha Prince.
Finally, midnight arrived. It was now the fifteenth day of the fourth month.
Almost instantly, several dark shadows flashed through the night, heading away from the Mingxin Zen Courtyard.
At the sa ti, nurous figures burst into the Mingxin Zen Courtyard.
The sounds of footsteps, whistling air, and ragged breaths filled the night.
KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK!
A knocking sound suddenly ca from the courtyard gate.
"His Highness the Buddha Prince, I trust you are well?"
A greeting followed imdiately after.
Yang An remained expressionless and did not answer.
KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK!
The knocking continued, growing more and more urgent.
In Yang An’s perception, his surroundings were crystal clear. But the newcors were all small fry; he couldn’t be bothered with them.
He was still waiting, waiting for a new developnt from the direction of the Grand View Cave Zen.
’Now that the Joyful Shrine Association had begun, the priority was naturally to snatch up resources first. Everything else could wait.’
But even after a dozen breaths, there was still no movent from the direction of the Grand View Cave Zen. It seed he wasn’t the only one waiting; everyone was waiting for soone else to make the first move.
BANG!
The courtyard gate was suddenly kicked open, revealing quite a few figures outside.
Perhaps they were just curious, or perhaps they thought they could get away with sothing.
But the instant the gate flew open, streaks of white light flashed past like raindrops, vanishing as quickly as they appeared.
A mont later, blood sprayed through the air as every last one of them collapsed to the ground with a THUD, their eyes wide in shock.
The Buddhist Shrines in their hands fell to the ground, instantly disintegrating into dust.
Only then did thin, silk-like threads appear in the air. As Guang’an stared, his eyes wide, the threads pulled slivers of White Feather from the corpses and rapidly retracted to the small of Yang An’s back.
"Your Highness the Buddha Prince..."
"They provoked ."
Yang An said, his expression unchanged.
Guang’an: "..."
’Bow Lady!’
Yang An called out in his mind, but the thought had barely ford when he heard the Bow Lady let out a satisfied burp.
Clearly, she had acted before he even needed to give the command.
"More of these little shits! This lady loves it!"
"Alright!"
A smile touched Yang An’s lips. He also noticed that after the Buddhist Shrines on the corpses he’d killed had shattered, several wisps of black energy, visible to the naked eye, began to linger over them.
The next mont, Yang An took his Full Grade Xian Shrine out from his Storage Magical Artifact.
As soon as the Xian Shrine appeared, the black wisps of energy were instantly drawn to it, swarming over and burrowing inside.
At the sa ti, a thread of incredibly pure Mana flowed into Yang An’s body.
Feeling this influx of Mana, Yang An’s eyes instantly lit up.
’Could it be? After the Xian Shrine refines a Demon Barrier, it converts it into pure Mana that requires no further tempering?’
