A series of three knocks suddenly jolted him awake. He shot up in bed.
The knocking was coming from his door! Soone was knocking on his door!
"Who is it?!"
He had clearly ordered the Corpse Slave to guard the entrance, but when the knocking sounded, there was no other movent from outside. This was highly unusual.
