She turned to look at him, her expression... strange. "Why are you still clinging to that nonsense?"
"Where is the nonsense?" Su Mo replied seriously. "My male instinct is telling sothing is definitely going on between them."
"Male instinct?" Yang Qingxi shook her head lightly, dismissing him outright.
But just then—
Su Mo’s gaze suddenly paused.
"Well, Miss Yang," he said, tone shifting slightly, "now I can say with certainty that this party is part of Lin Fan’s plot."
Yang Qingxi frowned faintly. "How so? Is he here?"
She had already checked. There was no trace of Lin Fan’s aura yet.
"No," Su Mo said, making a subtle gesture in a direction. "But his ex-girlfriend... and the man who stole her... are both here."
Yang Qingxi followed his gaze.
At first glance, nothing seed special.
But recalling Su Mo’s earlier description—
A short, bald man.
And beside him, an ordinary-looking yet sowhat attractive woman.
Recognition dawned instantly.
"Is that Lin Fan’s ex-girlfriend? Ye Ling?" Yang Qingxi narrowed her eyes slightly. "Why does it look like she’s seducing the man that bald guy is talking to?"
"Because that’s exactly what she’s doing," Su Mo replied calmly, folding his arms. "In rebirth stories, if the protagonist is going to take revenge, his past lover has to be thoroughly blackened."

He paused.
"Sa disgusting plot."
Yang Qingxi rubbed her forehead lightly, as if a headache was coming. "How many of these nonsense stories have you read?"
"And if it’s so disgusting," she added, giving him a look, "why did you even read them?"
"Because," Su Mo replied without hesitation, "when the revenge is complete, it’s refreshing."
"...Excuse ?"
"You wouldn’t understand with words," he said calmly. "Better to experience it yourself later."
Yang Qingxi stared at him for a mont.
Then... she fell silent.

"Ye Ling, this is Boss Chu. It’s his father’s birthday that we’re attending today."
Chu Ziyuan’s gaze swept over Ye Ling.

Yet her eyes flickered just enough to be noticed.
Chu Ziyuan’s smile deepened.
"Oh? And what does Miss Ye do?"
"I’m still in college," she replied politely. "I’ll graduate in about half a year."
"Interesting..." Chu Ziyuan’s tone slowed. "Then perhaps... Miss Ye would consider working for ?"
Ye Ling hesitated for a mont, just enough to appear natural. Then she smiled.
"Mr Chu’s kindness is much appreciated. I was indeed looking for opportunities. If you’re willing to help... I would be very grateful."
Nothing more was said. But everything was already understood.
Han Jie, standing beside them, felt his expression stiffen.
His fists clenched slightly.
Yet when he looked at Chu Ziyuan—
He loosened them again.
The irritation didn’t disappear, but was buried under calculation.
If Ye Ling could get close to Boss Chu...
Then perhaps he could benefit too.
