It didn’t take long for Consort to reach the end of the grasslands.
The vibrant green adow gradually disappeared behind them, replaced by an ancient forest standing silently at the foot of the Frostspine Mountains. Tall dark trees stretched endlessly ahead, their branches intertwined densely enough to block much of the sunlight above.
Cold mist drifted quietly between the trees.
The atmosphere instantly changed.
If the grasslands earlier felt lively and open, this place felt eerily silent.

Consort stopped at the forest entrance and stomped his hoof uneasily against the ground. The horse looked toward the forest, then toward Su Mo and Yang Qingxi.
Its eyes visibly carried reluctance.
After waiting several seconds and realising the two humans had absolutely no intention of returning with it, Consort finally snorted unhappily before turning around and running back toward the distant grasslands without hesitation.
The speed at which it escaped was astonishing.
Su Mo stared at the disappearing horse and couldn’t help speaking.
"That old ranch owner trained his horses really well."
Yang Qingxi glanced in the direction Consort fled toward before quietly saying, "Or perhaps they simply know this place is dangerous."
The wind blew softly through the forest. The leaves rustled faintly overhead.
For so reason, the sound felt unusually cold.
"Let’s go."
Thus, the hike officially began.
At first, Su Mo felt rather excited.
After all, mysterious snowy mountains, hidden sects, unknown dangers, and possible monsters—this was practically a classic adventure setting.
