Chapter 103: Shh, Eve Has Fallen Asleep

That being said, it is worth ntioning once more that this recently imported refined hobby known as calligraphy contains profound knowledge within it.

First cos grinding the ink. Those who understand, understand—this is the root of calligraphy and the key to determining success or failure. Much depends on the quality and origin of the materials. Beginners are advised to pay special attention during practice.

Then one must first straighten the posture before moving the brush. The body must be steady, and the brush must also be held firmly.

Next, one should begin by copying from mory before gradually incorporating one’s own style. It is not enough to focus solely on the outline of the characters; the force applied must also be considered.

Finally, if the wrist remains too tense, prolonged writing will lead to fatigue. One must deliberately relax and apply strength through the fingertips. Only then is the brush held correctly.

As for soone like Vivian, born into a wealthy noble family, she had access to all manner of things. Naturally, such a sudden trend was nothing difficult for her.

She was quite skilled as well. After all, she often practiced in private. If one insisted on finding sothing unsatisfactory at the mont, there was indeed sothing.

But it was not any of the aforentioned key points of calligraphy.

It was the maid serving as the “material.” Though her eyes were open, her gaze was unfocused, and her expression remained blank and dazed.

If not for the obvious rise and fall of her chest and the warm flush blooming across her skin, Vivian would have thought she had truly fallen asleep.

“Hey, wake up. I am teaching you, and you still manage to fall asleep?”

Eve struggled to open her eyes. She was so sleepy—she wanted nothing more than to sleep. Only belatedly did she realize that the other girl was teaching her how to practice calligraphy. Yet she found it difficult to muster the energy to respond.

She rely blinked to prove that she had not fallen asleep. If not for the fact that she was still breathing, one might have said she was hardly different from a corpse.

How amusing.

But Vivian did not find it amusing at all. It felt like a silent declaration of her own incompetence. She had originally intended to take care of a beginner in calligraphy, which was why she had proceeded slowly.

If that was the way it was going to be, then there was no need for restraint.

Vivian took a deep breath. With practiced ease, she slightly bent her long legs to facilitate the continuation of her “calligraphy lesson.”

The next mont—

Caught sowhere between asleep and awake, Eve suddenly felt a greater chill. Drowsily, she instinctively attempted to sit up.

“Mm...”

But before she could rise halfway, the delicate body before her pressed her back down. Imdiately following that ca the sa fervent kiss that had earlier been so insistently demanded.

The blood that overflowed from the tip of the tongue—never unwelco, no matter how much—acted like a sedative, dispelling all her doubts.

Even knowing that her body was being touched, she could not drive away the intoxication spreading within those crimson eyes.

So this kind of sensation could be experienced as well? It was strange and new. She had never felt anything like it before. It was almost on par with the feeling of consuming blood.

She could not put it into words.

What aning did this hold... It was difficult to understand...

No—

At last, though belatedly, Eve’s autonomous defense system kicked in. In an instant, she seized the troubleso hand.

Vivian was forced to pull away from the deep kiss, her face darkening with displeasure. “Let go.”

“No...”

“What did you say? No?”

Vivian nearly laughed in disbelief. She had finally persuaded herself that, since they were both won, such actions were permissible. And now—after everything—it was “no”?

She did not withdraw her “specialized weapon.” Though anger flickered in her eyes, she restrained her emotions and uttered two calm words. “Your reason.”

Did this even require a reason?

What kind of reason would it require?

The two questions exploded in Eve’s mind like bombs. She did not know. Being able to say “no” was already the limit of her current thinking capacity.

“Speak. If you cannot give a reason, I will continue.”
