Arriving at Infiniti Technologies, Huojin pressed the button of the elevator. Officer Xiyang was accompanying him, who had a question in his mind. "Um, Sir Mo. If Sir Yang Mingshen is with Mam, then who is going to help us with the forensic investigation here?"
"Well, that is-"
"W-we are here!"
They turned and recognized Bojing running towards them, breathless. But they didn’t recognize the young man following Bojing with a calm pace.
Bojing said breathlessly, "W-we are here."
Huojin asked, "Who is..."
Bojing followed his gaze and said, "Oh! Let in-introduce you. He is Shilin. He has n-newly joined Boss’s lab a-and he is my j-junior...B-Boss has sent us to h-help you with the investigation!"
Shilin gave a polite bow and smiled. "Hello."
Shilin...Why does this na sound familiar? Huojin wondered.
Nevertheless, he greeted him with a pleasant smile. "Welco to the team. Let’s head up, shall we?"
Officer Xiyang whispered in his ear, "But Sir Bojing is Sir Yang’s assistant, right?"
Huojin raised a brow. "Exactly. He is Yang Mingshen’s assistant. That is more than enough. He will do just fine."
Will I really do fine?
Bojing inwardly was shedding a river of tears, fidgeting and panicking. Mingshen trusted him with a huge responsibility and the anxiety to stand on those expectations was gobbling Bojing whole. On top of that, his junior would be right there carefully watching him and learning from him.
W-what if I ss up...? What if I disappoint Boss and Shilin? They will think I am so useless!
Tears pooled in his eyes, making Xiyang jolt. "A-are you okay? Did I accidentally step on your foot?"
N-No I cannot look so diffident in front of them...he trembled.
Shilin thought for a mont and said, "I know it’s been hardly a day but I ca to understand that Senior Lu is a sensitive person. He might be feeling a little disturbed thinking of the person who has died here. There is no question of his capabilities otherwise. Right, Senior Lu?"
He blinked at him, confused.
I-I am not really so disturbed by the death so...
Wait, is-is he trying to help out?
Bojing silently communicated his tears of gratitude to which Shilin gave a simple reassuring smile.
Xiyang nodded. "Indeed, deaths are disturbing."
He inwardly rejoiced in Mingshen’s absence.
At least, my money is safe today!
They reached the fifth floor where the incident had occurred and asked the crowd to make way. "Police. Please step aside. Who called?"
"I-I did!" One of the employees raised his hand and nervously stepped in the front.
Xiyang asked, "You are the caller, Zou Haoran?"
"Yes."
Huojin asked next, "What exactly happened here?"
Zou Haoran’s face turned pale as he recalled the horror. "I was working on my s-software solution code as usual. I wanted Manager Kong’s inputs on w-what I did so far, so I got up from my seat and headed towards his cabin. But when I opened the door, I...I saw him c-collapsed on his chair and Zhang Feiyu was standing behind him, holding his tie in his hand! The tie was wrapped around his neck! He-He strangled Manager Kong."
Another female employee, Hu Linglu, shuddered. "It still pains to believe that Zhang Feiyu would do sothing like this...He was also so quiet and reserved."
"Zhang Feiyu?" Huojin cocked his brow up. "Who is he?"
"We work in the sa team. Ever since I caught him in the act, we didn’t let him escape! He is over there..."
Zou Haoran pointed at the back where the floor’s security guard was keeping an eye on him. Huojin walked closer and abruptly stopped in his steps.
Zhang Feiyu blankly raised his head, sensing sobody coming nearer. He stared at Huojin and whispered with recognition.
"The man from the supermarket last night."

Before heading towards the apartnt flat, Jia told her plan to Officer Lim as she was disguised as a delivery person.
"I will ring the doorbell and pretend to be the delivery person. You will hide by the door’s side. If the woman opens the door, we are in luck. We will pull her outside to safety and nab the man inside. If it’s the man, then he most probably won’t co out pointing his gun at the delivery guy. I will keep him busy and you pounce on him from the door side."
"Got it, Mam."
She grabbed a fake package from sowhere to show it as the burger delivery and rang the doorbell. "Fastpoint Burger!"
Lim took his position and waited, the safety clicked off his gun’s trigger.
They heard footsteps from the other side. The doorknob clicked open and a man ca into view.
Jia cursed in her mind but maintained her smile. "Fastpoint Burger, Sir! Your delivery."
Shit, Lim cursed inwardly too. The man opened the door.
But Jia soon found a graver problem before them than the man opening the door. Many flats and houses were equipped with a single door at the entrance. A person would be in direct physical contact with the visitor outside once they would open the door.
But this flat had double doors - The outer door fitted with equally spaced steel railings at so distance from the top of the door. An inner door was behind it that opened inside the house. With this design with added security, the person inside the house could see the visitor through the steel railings of the outer door while still having only the inner door opened.
This will make things difficult...
She observed the man who was wearing a black jacket with a ssed up hairstyle and a nacing look in his irises. She didn’t leave his gaze off the man but was able to decipher that the woman was nowhere in the background.
The man just humd in feeble acknowledgent. "Hm."
Jia smiled. "Sir, will you please accept the delivery?"
The man seed to think and montarily hesitated. He had his fingers on the outside door’s knob.
Co on...Open the damn door...
The man suddenly stopped. He peered downwards.
Jia clearly saw that man’s hesitation fly away a mont later. She heard a small click from sowhere down below and as she looked down, her heart almost stopped beating.
Just beneath the steel railings, there was a small rectangular compartnt that opened sort of like a mini door itself. It looked like the continuation of the rest of the door from the outside. But she then ca to realize that there was perhaps a small latch on the inside. The man could unlock the latch and open it.
Certainly, a burger package could very well fit within the mini compartnt for a quick handover without even opening the outside door.
The man did exactly that. The mini compartnt opened and he said in a gruff voice, "Pass the delivery."
