Jia locked the man’s wrists to the living room table’s leg with handcuffs. Swiftly pulling out her gun from her holster, she made her way towards the bedroom. The adrenaline spike caused her heart to drum faster in worry for Lim. She aid the gun dead straight ahead of her.
The bedroom ca into her view, but she didn’t see the woman. What she did see was a man collapsed on the floor. Her heart sank. She rushed ahead and as she had guessed, there was another man in the room.
Lim was on the floor, fallen on his abdon’s side and bleeding from his back. The second intruder was leaning over the collapsed Lim with a dagger in his hands. He was ready to stab Lim once again, this ti clearly with the intention to end his life.
"Stop!"
The man froze on the spot. He jerked his head up and saw the gun aid at him.
"Step back," Jia chillingly warned. "Step back from Lim right now!"
The man seemingly was judging his options. He realized that it was of no use. He had a knife and Jia had a gun. A bullet always wins the battle against a knife.
The man narrowed his eyes and slowly stepped away from Lim.
"Throw the knife and raise your arms. Now. One wrong move and I won’t hesitate to shoot you through your head. Trust in the fact that I am extrely pissed off right now."
He did as was told, giving her a dirty and antagonized look.
She kept the gun aid at the second man and hurried over to Lim’s side.
"Lim? Lim? You can hear , right?"
Lim was losing his focus. He was sweating and gasping for air.
"Please hold it, Lim. Don’t you dare close your eyes! I will get you help right now."
She noticed the stab wound on his back around where the kidneys were. She took out her handkerchief and pressed it on his wound to prevent further bleeding.
He sneaked from behind Lim. Coward!
Jia had used the handcuffs she had on with her to tie the first man. So she grabbed the second pair slinging on Lim’s waist to lock the second intruder. The gun was still aid at him. He didn’t put up any fight.
The woman...Where is she?
Jia glanced around and finally found her too. She was in the farthest corner of the room. Her hands and legs were tied up with her mouth covered with a silver tape. She cowered and trembled with fear. Her cheeks were stained with tears.
She released a sigh of relief. "Don’t worry. You are okay now."
Jia assured her and started walking towards her to free her from the bondages. But contrary to feeling relief, the woman was vigorously shaking her head. Her eyes were stretched wide with terror.
She was taken aback by this extre reaction. "Don’t worry, you are okay now."
"Mmm! Mmm!"
Jia didn’t understand at first why it seed to her as if the woman was stopping her from coming to her side.
But felt that familiar chill struck her yet again like a bomb blast, ringing danger alarms in her head. With it ca an ominous realization.
The fight was far from over. There weren’t two n, but three.
But she realized it half a second late. She had only half-turned when a vicious kick landed on the back of her knee. She fell on her left knee but was quick to not fall completely. In the next flash of a second, a second kick at her hand kicked her gun away from her grasp. It fell on the floor with a cling and slid away from her reach.
The third man leaned over her with a victorious smile. "Guess you guessed because of the beer bottles, right?"
Jia said nothing.
"Unfortunately for you, I am more of a whiskey person. Beer is not my style-"
Her elbow ca straight at his neck, threatening to crush his larynx. His eyes widened. He managed to dodge it at the very last second but not without so serious damage to his Adam’s apple.
Not in a million years had he expected her to launch an attack from her half-kneeling state and when she was also recovering from the shock of a third man’s presence. She had lost her gun, but she didn’t choose to waste her ti lanting over it. She was already deciding her next mode of strike.
He clutched his neck in pain, staring at her. The amusent and smile from his lips faded away, replaced by raw fury.
"You bitch," he uttered extrely quietly.
Jia said in a deadpan voice, "This equals the score."
He had sneaked upon her and in turn, she did the sa.
The second man, who was handcuffed, laughed. "You had the surprise elent and you still took a strike? More so from a woman? Can you be any more hopeless?"
"Don’t make use this bitch’s gun and burst your head open-"
But Jia was already on her feet, ready to land a second punch on his throat. She was sure that it would definitely knock him out with the first injury already swelling his neck. She didn’t go for the option to grab her gun. It was far, which would have given the free intruder too much ti to get to her.
So instead, she sprinted to get to him.
But a fatal error occurred when Jia lost her balance. She had underestimated the man’s previous kick on the back of her right knee. There was damage there which she didn’t realize at the ti. But now as she sprinted, it mounted pressure on her injury.
She stumbled a few feet short of him. The surprise elent of the second strike was lost.
The third man laughed out hard. "I am feeling second hand embarrassnt on your behalf. That was one royal failure, wasn’t it?"
Jia breathed hard, pain shooting across her right leg. Her expression remained unfaltered but inwardly, she was beginning to panic. Not for her own safety but for Lim and the woman. She also didn’t know the extent of Lim’s stab wound or for how much longer he could hold on without dical help.
I will not let Lim die on ...No way!
She didn’t know how. Her own injury was making her a handicap. She instinctively knew not to move or she would risk doing so serious damage to her knee.
He sneered. "This ti, I won’t lean over. Who knows if you will throw another punch? So let do the honors of giving one nice kick on your knee again. You were going to do the sa thing with my neck, right?"
The tied up woman’s face in the corner turned ghastly white.
He-he would break her knee with that!
Before heading to give his final victory kick, the third man snatched the handcuffs keys first. He freed his two partners, and now the three lood over her.
"It was fucking stupid to let that woman make the call," the second man snarled at the first man.
"She said she was extrely hungry. She had almost fainted."
"Have you ever heard of the word ’acting?’"
"Just kill them already before any police backup cos."
The third man smiled. "The other two trash, yes. But for this woman, no. I want to break her before I kill her."
Jia didn’t show a single trace of fear or panic. It only served to agitate them. Lim desperately tried to help but was helpless.
The third man stood behind Jia. "Ready? It will be so amazing that you would crave more for it."
The woman sobbed hard in silence, closing her tearful eyes in defeat. She didn’t have the courage to see Jia’s tornt and resigned to her fate.
I am sorry...

The n heard footsteps from outside. The first man cursed. "Fuck the doors were open. Did a thief sneak in?"
"What a wonderful day to steal~"
They heard a man’s bright and hopeful voice.
Their brows twitched. "This robber only got this ti to rob? Go quickly deal with him," the third man ordered his first partner. "You made a ss up so clean it up yourself."
The first man cursed again and went out. There was pin drop silence. It was too eerie for their taste. A minute later, they heard slow footsteps coming back.
"Don’t fucking drag your feet! We have things to do."
They saw their first partner appear in their view but not in the state they had imagined. He was flailing his arms towards them and trying to speak. But he couldn’t because a sharp, shiny object was torn right through the center of his neck. Blood trickled down through the newly created hole.
They stared at him, frozen and in utter silence.
He collapsed a few monts later, writhing in pain like a fish forced out of the ocean. Then the writhing stopped.
Behind his dead body stood a man with his hands in his pockets as if he was out for a casual stroll. With an amusing and sinful smile in his gaze, his black orbs t Jia’s.
"Did you miss , Spicy?"
