Jia tilted her head. "What kind of research and developnt facilities are out there studying nanomaterials and such biochemistry?"
Huojin said, "Well there is one manufacturing party supplying these research facilities with carbon nanotubes and probably much more stuff to design the chips the way they are. Then the actual facility where all these components co together to form the complete chip."
Mingshen smirked. "One research facility with nanomaterials is mine~"
"..."
"Nanomaterials have their usage in dicine so of course my lab has that."
"Then you would be more familiar with suppliers and other labs like yours," Jia said.
"Like mine?" He gasped in horror. "There is no such lab like mine. I have the best facility~ The comparison is offensive, Spicy."
"So you want to say the chip was designed here?" She smiled. "Since every other facility is inferior to yours, it only leaves Yang Mingshen to be the culprit, does it not? Great. Mystery solved. Huojin, let’s take Mingshen to his new ho~"
"Aish, Spicy. I will be happier if you take to your ho. We had such fun that night," he teased.
Her eyes icily narrowed.
Huojin choked and once again made so distance between him and Jia. He looked at Mingshen. "Sobody preparing these shady chips isn’t so great at all. It doesn’t matter if they invented sothing new if they are using it to cause harm. Anyway, can you give us the list of the CNT manufacturers you have?"
He raised his brow. "There are only three in China. I have already told them to send a list of their custors."
Jia’s jaw dropped. "And they will give it to you just like that?"
"People generally tend to listen to Yang family’s orders~"
Her brow twitched. "What if this order spooks them?"
"Then all the more beneficial," he sparkled. "If they are in cahoots, then they will make a mistake. If they make a mistake, then we catch the shady people. Then they beco my research subjects. Everybody is happy~"
Jia drew out a long sigh.
"Mingshen, we have to tread very carefully. They are covering up their tracks. They hauled those three dead n away so that we couldn’t reach them. They will keep their ears and eyes open, especially with any action coming from your side."
"Are you worried about ?" He smiled mischievously.
"I am more worried about you spooking them and letting them take preventive asures which will only make our life more difficult," she said with a bland tone.
"A difficult challenge makes it worthwhile. And where’s the fun without a little poking and teasing?" He innocently blinked.
Huojin whispered in her ears. "Yang Mingshen did declare that these people were UnderworId’s enemy. I trust in the Underworld’s reputation that he will surely catch them."
Jia sighed. "Fine..."
Exiting the lab, she was about to leave through the entrance way when she looked back at the corridor.
"Are you missing your special room?" A devilish voice whispered sultrily in her ear.
Jia squinted her eyes. "Whisper in my ear like that again and don’t bla if I jab an elbow right through your handso face."
"Ouch~" he chuckled.
She glanced at him and asked after contemplating, "How is the woman?"
"Only stable because of machines," he smiled. "They are artificially supporting the heart."
"I see..."
Jia might not be able to beco the heart donor she needed, but that didn’t an she didn’t wish for her to recover.
Jia tilted her head thoughtfully as sothing occurred to her. "She has been here for soti. For almost three years, right? Then where is her family? Who is looking for her?"
His deep, black eyes shone with mystery. "I would like to know the answer for it too from a certain soone."
Her brows furrowed. "Who?"
He took one forward and bent his face in a proximity that itched Jia with a fight response. "It’s tempting to answer Spicy’s questions. I might consider it if you agree to spend one night with here~ We can have so..." he eyed her from top to down, "aningful and passionate rounds together~"
A horror-laced gasp echoed from the back and Mingshen turned, narrowing his eyes.
"B-Boss! Wh-what are you saying to sis!" His face had turned akin to a bright tomato. He was trembling behind Shilin with the dam of his tears close to breaking.
"Hawww," Huojin joined in. "I guess I am going back alone then."
"You want to throw this crutch at you?" Jia asked with a frigid smile.
"...Nowadays it seems that I am not safe by your side anymore," he frowned dramatically.
Bojing hopped to hug Jia albeit carefully because of her knee injury.
Jia bead. "Bojing!"
"S-sis!"
"How is your knee now sis? Y-you are regularly attending the physio se-sessions, right?"
"Of course."
"She isn’t," Mingshen smiled. "You missed two sessions."
Her brow twitched. "Are you spying on my appointnts?"
"My hospital, my rules. That’s why I thought to do the job myself tonight. But it seems that my assistant has a problem."
He jolted and looked away, gulping. "Y-You talked l-like that..."
Shilin greeted them. "It’s nice to et you, Inspector Song. Inspector Mo."
She smiled back. "Sa here."
Huojin nodded.
Bojing sniffled. "S-sis, you shouldn’t miss out on your a-appointnts, okay? How will y-you recover then?"
She sheepishly grinned and pinched his cheeks. "I am sorry. My pain seed fine-"
"Cops," Mingshen sneered. "Always stubborn and a pain in the ass patients."
"I am talking to Bojing!" she glared at him.
"In MY lab."
"Fine! Then we are going outside!"
"Which is the Yang family’s compound as far as your eyes would take you," he chuckled.
Ughh!!
"B-By the way, what brought you here, Sis?" Bojing asked, puzzled.
There is no way Sis would return to this lab by her own accord at all!
She sighed. "To know about the mysterious n with She tattoos. Apparently, your Boss didn’t bother to tell us about them."
"O-Oh! I-I am sorry, sis. I didn’t tell you about it e-either..." he bawled.
"Oof. Why are you apologizing for your Boss’s stupidity?"
"Isn’t the difference in treatnt a little too contrasting, Spicy?" Mingshen asked, befuddled.
"Because the difference in personalities is equally contrasting."
She ruffled Bojing’s head. "I will see you later. Huojin and I will take my leave now."
"So soon?" Huojin was disappointed.
"You are welco to stay the night here if you wish," she encouraged him. "Please. I insist."
His mouth twitched. "It will be no fun without you so I will pass."
She sneered.
Despite the pain in the knee, Jia walked hastily to leave the lab the quickest she could. The lab and the place only evoked the prisoner’s mories within her.
Finally, I will be out!
Jia could see her salvation outside.
"I found you!!!"
She abruptly stopped in her steps and froze. Swallowing down her saliva, she turned very slowly.
An elegant woman in her fifties furiously waved her hand at her. Her beautiful face bead brilliantly like a second version of the sun.
She exclaid with zest. "My future daughter-in-law is here!!!"
