With Bojing and Shilin sent along the hospital’s way to do the task Mingshen called them for, Jia wasn’t sure what to do with the rest of her day.
I already talked to ng Rin last night, she thought. Should I try talking to the other crew mbers too?
Her phone lit up with Yang Bingqing’s call and her brow twitched.
Another culprit here has finally co out of her hiding, she thought.
"Hello, Aunt."
"Jia! I should have called you yesterday but oof. I totally missed it. I heard the news of the director’s murder! Damn it, who would have thought this would have happened right when the drama was supposed to end? Bai Caishen and his team are all over the news," she spoke in one hasty breath.
"Yes, Aunt. Unfortunately, the rry atmosphere took a turn for the worse."
"And Chow y has been arrested for it! It’s just one shock after the other," Yang Bingqing sighed. "Does that an the case is closed?"
"It’s too soon to say that. Chow y is being interrogated for sure but the Tianjin Bureau is also looking at other angles."
"I see. It’s really so unfortunate. The drama is just about to end and Director Wan Guanting couldn’t even witness it. It was so close. He had so many projects in the pipeline. From one of the elite socialites’ groups, I had once heard that Xin Manchu could be considered as a lead role for the next big project. But the more spicy rumor is that he most probably won’t get it. Rumor also says that he was quite unhappy~"
Jia, who was strolling around the fountain inside the hotel, stopped. "Is that so?"
"Yes," Yang Bingqing had quickly recovered her mood and chirped. "So of the socialites love to talk about such stuff. Apparently, there are also talks about the entertainnt agency where Bai Caishen and ng Rin are a part of being taken over. Wan Guanting is closely tied to it. But it seed he was against this takeover."
She blinked once. "Who is taking over the company?"
"Aish, sadly the network didn’t reach that far," she lanted.
Her brow twitched.
She is saying as if she is actively spying in this industry...
"But~!" The excitent in her voice raised a notch higher. "One of my arrogant socialites’ acquaintances had once seen Wan Guanting storming out of a private room in a five-star hotel. She said she was passing by when she had heard,
I won’t put up with this crap! You had promised !
Then Wan Guanting left quite angrily."
Jia couldn’t help but ask, "...How do you know all this?"
"Oh?" Yang Bingqing chuckled. "It’s so cute. These won call at their stupid tea parties. Although I am never so thrilled to et these over the top makeup applying elites, they do give so valuable source of gossip from ti to ti~"
Well, it is certainly proving a little useful now...
"Were there any bad rumors about Wan Guanting?"
"Word of the mouth is that he was greedy with only a profit-making mindset."
Jia smiled. "Reminds of your son who is so very similar to him and who also happens to be at Tianjin."
"..."
"Do you have any thoughts on this, Aunt?"
"Hello? Hello? Oh my I cannot even properly hear your voice anymore..."
Jia’s brow heavily twitched. "Aunt, what is Mingshen doing here-"
"Hello!? Hello! I-I better call you later dear. It seems my network is dying on . Bye!"
She hung up. Jia stared at the hung up call on her phone.
"That was a nice escape~"
The echo of his nesis’s laughter made her heart bleed.
"What are you doing here? Shouldn’t you be with Bojing and Shilin?" She bitterly asked.
"My assistants are more than capable enough to handle it. I can dedicate my whole ti to you~"
She sneered. "Jump into this fountain and dedicate your death to instead."
He chuckled. "If I die then how will you know about what the pretty actor had to say to ."
"There are many actors here."
"The one for whom Mom will wholeheartedly betray my Dad," he shrugged.
"You have a problem saying Bai Caishen?" Then she paused. "You don’t call people by their nas, do you? You don’t call by my na either."
Mingshen’s eyes twinkled. "Spicy na is special for ~"
"What did Bai Caishen say?"
"How rude. You just ignored my-"
"What did Bai Caishen say?" She impatiently asked.
"The villain role really suits him."
"Is that what he said?"
"That’s what I am saying."
"Then what did he say?"
"He might be really going for world domination."
"Is that what he said?"
"That’s what I feel."
"Then what did he say?"
"Apparently, relationships tumbling like falling cards are fun to watch."
Jia took a deep breath all till her lungs’ capacity could accommodate.
Mingshen pouted. "Why did you suddenly go into ditation mode-"
But without any warning that even Mingshen couldn’t catch, Jia pushed her palms against his chest hard and fast and he fell in the mountain with a loud splash drumming the air.
Mingshen stared at himself, his pristine white coat getting drenched with water with drops of it dripping down his perfectly sculpted face.
"I told you I will appreciate it if you dedicate your death to instead," Jia sneered. "This is for always wasting my ti with your useless pitter-patter! If you don’t have straight answers to give then don’t buzz around like an annoying bug either!"
She turned around with her chest angrily puffing when once again, she saw won fainting left and right with the sight of a half-wet Mingshen just like what happened on the beach.
Her jaw dropped.
Seriously you all...can you please look beyond his looks just for once?
Mingshen threw his head back under the fountain’s water and pouted. "But he did say that. Spicy left without letting tell her the real deal."
His phone inside his coat’s half-wet chest pocket.
"Yes, Assistant Lu. Any good news to enjoy in my fountain bath ti?"
"Boss, co to the h-hospital right now. Sis Jia too. We found sothing!"
—
Why is he building up the suspense? Jia’s brow twitched as Mingshen calmly studied the report given by Bojing.
The more he read it, the more Mingshen evilly chuckled and then soon broke out into a full blown laughter.
Lei Honghui threw a stunned glance at Jia. "Is there sothing wrong with him?"
"Everything is wrong with him."
Mingshen closed the report and kept it back on the table. "That’s why I said that you will fall with your face down if you challenge ."
"What do you an?" Lei Honghui frowned.
His smile twinkled. "Asphyxia is not the cause of his death. He died from cardiac arrest."
