Lei Honghui said, "It’s about Director Wan Guanting’s death."
"I think I saw news about it," Hou Tengqi plainly replied. "That’s another reason why I ca here. Rinrin would have felt so traumatized with the death of soone she closely worked with. I feel guilty I couldn’t co sooner," he shook his head with lant. "But Rinrin told the case is closed."
Zeng Shan interrupted with teary eyes. "It’s far from over! I know for a fact that Manchu didn’t do this on his own. Sobody else is behind it!"
Guo Juan could barely keep up with her.
Manchu was probably fooling around with her too, so why does she care about him so much? He might not be even thinking about her in jail.
"Oh. That’s an interesting theory. But I suppose you don’t have any evidence for it."
"Manchu had just drunkenly ntioned once about soone influential who was going to help him get good roles."
Bai Caishen and Dong Haoyu threw a curious glance at her at the sa ti.
No wonder he seed to be in an extra good mood these days. He had scored a backing, they thought.
Hou Tengqi smiled. "I see. It would indeed be a sad affair if there is more than one culprit but only one of them is behind bars. I am sure Supervisor Lei would leave no stone unturned in this investigation."
"As always, Mr. Hou."
"I will personally help out with the case too. Rinrin was so closely involved, after all. I would like to give her closure as soon as possible so that she can be at peace."
Zeng Shan’s face glead with hope. "Thank you so much! Miss. ng is so lucky to have you."
He chuckled. "It’s who is lucky to have her in my life."
Mingshen’s voice brutally cut through the conversation. "Sobody should ask her opinion too. That’s what you are saying right, Spicy~?"
"..."
Everybody looked at Jia, and she beca the center of attention in an instant. She kept her smile while simultaneously throwing blazing gazes towards Mingshen.
What. Are. You. Doing?
"I understand Spicy’s heart so well that I should get an award~"
"You have lost , Dr. Yang," Hou Tengqi said, confused.
"It’s nothing new for you anyway~"
Even Lei Honghui felt his pulse drop akin to a rollercoaster. Any other person would have puked blood with this humiliation.
I know he is influential in his own way but can he really talk to Mr. Hou in that manner and still be alive?
Ouchhh.
Even Chow y felt that jab though it wasn’t directed at her.
If anybody assud that he would snap then they were wrong. Hou Tengqi was easily maintaining his composure against Mingshen’s knife-like cutting words.
"Guess your distaste for is still there."
"Juuuuuust like your girlfriend’s distaste for you suddenly popping here out of nowhere when it was supposed to be a pleasant flight back ho," he yawned.
"We are in a relationship. How is my surprise visit distasteful?"
Mingshen chuckled. "That bubbly actress t yours truly for the first ti on this trip. So did my assistant and my assistant’s assistant. But she didn’t show even a trace of discomfort in our company."
"Well, Rinrin is an extrovert after all. She can gel with people so easily," he smiled.
"But not with her boyfriend yet."
There was a pause.
"How do you see it that way?"
"It’s her opinion, after all."
"When did she say that my surprise visit was a bother for her?"
Mingshen smiled aningfully. "So opinions need not be said or heard but seen and understood instead. Doctors understand nuances very well."
"You are implying sothing that doesn’t exist, Dr. Yang."
"And now you understand why I am so choosy with my patients. When I imply sothing, it ans that particular thing does exist. So people who choose to ignore my diagnosis are not welco to be my patients. dicine cannot treat delusional people after a certain point."
Lei Honghui now broke into a cold sweat.
This is just...Are they enemies? Dr. Yang really despises him. A mber from the Politburo family at that...
Hou Tengqi raised his brow and broke into laughter, breaking the stiff tension in the air. "It’s always so fun talking to you, Dr. Yang. You have a very refreshing way of speaking."
He bead. "Oh you understand? And I wonder why people’s hearts always bleed with my charismatic and refreshing presence?"
Jia refrained from rolling her eyes.
I will hurt my eyes instead if I roll them too hard, she thought.

Bojing conducted a basic checkup and asked, "A-are you feeling uncomfortable in your chest?"
"Chest?" ng Rin asked back.
"Your heart is p-palpitating as I check."
"It might be because of the stomach ache..." she reasoned.
"Could be," he nodded.
Shilin brought the dical kit, which made Bojing gasp at him. "I-I told you to rest!"
"I feel better now, Senior Lu. It’s only the dicine kit," he smiled.
"Don’t underestimate your i-injury just because the bullet barely g-grazed you!" He flared his nostrils. "You ought to be a-alert and cautious. So sit down there and l-let handle it."
Shilin sighed. "As you say, Senior Lu."
Bojing smiled, satisfied and focused his attention back on ng Rin.
"Y-your eyes also look tired. Have you not been s-sleeping well?"
She scratched her chin and avoided eye contact. "After all that happened with Director Wan...I really couldn’t get any sleep."
"I understand..." his shoulders slumped. "I-It can be traumatic. Now take a deep breath."
ng Rin did as told.
"Does your stomach hurt with it?"
She lied. "A little."
Bojing sincerely noted it. She stared at him curiously and oddly felt her heart at peace.
"Does anybody tell you that you are cute? Hehe, will you go out with ~?"
Bojing almost stumbled as he gaped. Then a second later, tears flew out of his eyes like waterworks.
"W-what happened?"
Shilin smiled. "Senior Lu is a very sincere and serious man."
"Huh?"
Bojing stood up and bowed one eighty degree. "I-I am really sorry! I-I-I have a g-girlfriend and I love her so-so I cannot accept y-your feelings! I am sorry for b-being rude!"
"..."
ng Rin was aghast.
"I was just kidding! You did get so serious. Please stop crying!" She sobbed guiltily.
Bojing blinked twice. "Ohhh!"
His face shone once again as a crisis was averted. "Y-you scared ."
You scared ! She retorted back in her mind.
"Are you feeling o-okay walking now? We will go outside and I w-will confirm the prescription with the Boss too."
"S-Sure..."
They went outside and Hou Tengqi imdiately rushed towards her. "I am so glad you are okay, Rinrin. You really worried there."
"I am fine, haha..."
He turned to look at Bojing and extended his hand. "Thank you so much for all your help."
Bojing felt nervous at first but with Shilin’s encouragent, he went ahead with the handshake. "N-No problem! I was just d-doing my job!"
Hou Tengqi knitted his brows and his expression slightly faltered. Then it broke down a little more as if sothing was in pain.
Shilin noticed sothing and coughed. "Senior Lu. It seems your handshake is a little hard on him."
"Huh?" Bojing tilted his head and looked down. "I-It’s just a handshake though...?" Then he gasped. "Am I crushing his hand!?"
