"Stop!" Huojin exclaid as he was occupied in his own chase of a masked woman trying to escape.
The plan was going smoothly up until then when a bunch of guests were exiting the hotel. Like Xiyang’s group, Huojin did the sa and detained them.
The hotel’s grand lobby was a flurry of confusion as people stread out. Amid the pandemonium. From the corner of his Huojin caught a glimpse of a woman disappearing around the corner.
His instincts kicked in. "Hey! Stop!" he shouted, pushing through the crowd.
The masked woman moved quickly, her silhouette a flicker against the dimly lit hotel compound. Huojin rounded the corner, his eyes scanning the shadows. He was just in ti to see her jump over a low tal fence and disappear into a narrow side street. He leaped over the fence as well, landing on the other side with a soft thud.
"Stop! Police!" he yelled again, his voice echoing through the deserted street.
She didn’t slow down. She glanced back once through her mask and pushed herself to run faster.
Huojin’s heart pounded in his chest as he chased her. His adrenaline kept pumping in full swing pushing him forward. The street opened up into a broader avenue lined with parked cars. The woman made a sharp turn, ducking into a narrow passageway between two buildings.
She was fast, but Huojin was determined. He could see her movents slightly slowing, her breath coming in labored gasps. He had almost closed the gap when she suddenly grabbed a trash can, hurling it into his path. He ducked and dodged it, sohow still maintaining his montum.
"Just stop or I will be forced to shoot you!" he shouted in frustration.
She didn’t respond, her feet slapping against the pavent as she fled down the narrow alley. The alley ended in a tall chain-link fence, and Huojin finally saw her hesitate. But she didn’t waste much ti on it.
She glanced around and grabbed the fence with both hands, scrambling to pull herself up. He reached her just as she was halfway over, grabbing the hem of her dress. She kicked and thrashed her legs to shake him off, but he didn’t let her go.
"This is sexual harassnt."
Huojin’s jaw dropped. "Excuse , you are the guilty one running away and I am accused of being a pervert for trying to stop you?"
"You will tear my dress."
He saw her brows furrow. He couldn’t quite put a finger on it but sothing felt familiar about this woman.
"Then better co down. I would rather face harassnt charges than let you escape."
She continued to kick at him, trying to break free. But with a powerful tug, he yanked her back down and she fell on top of him. He grabbed her wrists without wasting any second, pinning her down. Holding onto her wrists, he forced her back on her feet. He reached for his handcuffs, and the tal clicked as he secured her wrists.
She still tried to resist and escape even with her locked wrists, but Huojin’s firm grip refused to budge.
"Now onto the revelation," he smiled, "even though I don’t know you."
He took off her mask with his left hand and it fell on the ground. He looked at her face and blinked twice. He glanced down at the mask and then back at her.
"Was I chasing after you only or did the actual woman switch midway sohow?"
"Your eyes work just fine," she smiled with a hint of grimace.
"In that case, please explain to what you are doing here, Li Beiye?"

Back in ng Rin’s room, she had already called for an ambulance. She was now desperately trying to do sothing - anything - to get Huo Tengqi conscious even if for a few monts.
"What am I supposed to do now...?" Tears rolled down her cheeks as she covered her face. "What am I supposed to tell his family?"
The stranger who was dozing off against the bed, yawned. He stood straight and stretched his arms. He roughly saw in her direction and whispered. "Why are you crying?"
ng Rin glared at him and gritting her teeth, she grabbed a lump of his shirt in her fist. "You almost killed him! Surely, I am not supposed to dance, right?"
His head rolled left to right and right to left with sleep quickly consuming his eyes. "Sure you can. He didn’t...seem to ...as...zzzzz."
His head dropped on her shoulder once again and she felt crushed under his huge body weight. "Get off !"
She pushed him away and he collapsed back on the bed. The fall didn’t seem to break his sleep. She couldn’t believe his audacity and only felt speechless.
But reality crushed her once again as she saw the unconscious Huo Tengqi. She fell on her knees, her tears this ti falling silently.
Huo Tengqi wasn’t any regular man. He belonged to a family way too influential in politics. Would anybody believe her if she said that right from the stranger man sleeping on her bed out of nowhere to him slamming his head against the wall was none of her fault?
The only thing she knew was that if Huo Tengqi was this dangerous, so was his family equally that notorious.
They already don’t like . Now with Huo Tengqi fatally hurt, everybody will only hate and bla all the more.
What will I do now...? What...I...
She choked, trying hard not to cry. But she felt incredibly afraid and lonely. The sound of her terrified sniffles echoed throughout the room.
She then felt a hand on the top of her head and she looked up, taken aback. The stranger’s black watchful eyes peered into hers unblinkingly.
"You will be fine," he said in a low voice, "Just act it out along with ."
"Sorry, what? A-act out?"
She wasn’t too sure but she thought what seed like a very faint smile on his lips.
"You are a talented actress. You will do just fine."
"I don’t-"
*BANG BANG!*
"ng Rin, are you here? I got the news of an ambulance waiting for Tengqi outside! What happened?"
Her eyes stretched wide. She recognized the man’s voice which belonged to one of Huo Tengqi’s friends.
"ng Rin, please answer ! Is everything alright?"
The stranger suddenly picked her up and pushed her down on the bed. He climbed on top of her, locking her wrists above her head.
She stared at him blankly with everything happening so fast. "...What are you doing?"
He slightly tilted his head. "It seems I brought so trouble for you. So I will get you out of it as well."
