Yan Qiu quietly sipped on his cola as he looked away. He jolted when i Ru exclaid in a loud voice, "Of course not!"
She shook her head. "So clashes here and there doesn’t an you start to hate the person. A little conflicts are a part and parcel of the corporate world. Nothing big."
"True," Rong Wei took a sip of his drink.
Zexi nodded. "I agree. It’s just so horrible what happened with Mrs. Zhang. I heard so goons had invaded her house and almost tried to kill her before the accident happened."
"Huh, really?" Yan Qiu’s eyes widened.
Zexi noticed the shocked looks on the other two faces as well.
Do they only know about the accident?
She tried to gauge if their reactions were genuine or fake but couldn’t really tell them apart.
"That’s crazy," Rong Wei muttered.
""That’s horrible! Were those stalkers?" i Ru gasped. "They must definitely be stalkers. Zhang Luqi is really pretty. I have heard stalking cases have also risen nowadays. All these perverted n having their disgusting fantasies..." she gritted her teeth.
Yan Qiu loosened his collar. "Were they really stalkers?"
"Who else would they be? Or maybe thieves trying to rob her house? Was anything stolen from her house?"
Zexi said, "I am not sure..."
Rong Wei blinked. "How do you know this though? Even us from the sa team had no clue about this violent attack."
She coughed. "Ah, one of my friends lives in the area where Mrs. Zhang and her husband reside. It was shocking to know that she is the sa woman who worked in this team..."
i Ru sighed. "That’s why I always cautioned her."
Zexi’s ears perked up. "Why? Did she have a lot of enemies?"
She chuckled. "No, silly. What enemies? She is not so politician or an influential figure to have enemies. She is a normal hardworking person like the rest of us. It’s just that sotis, she can be very passionate. She tends to forget the things going around her and that can be dangerous at tis. Maybe that’s why she didn’t notice a couple of n stalking her for God knows how long."
Very passionate? Zexi tilted her head. Is that a bad thing?
A tap landed on i Ru’s head and she said, "Ouch! Who is-"
Her glare imdiately settled down seeing Xun Chunlei standing behind her.
"Manager Xun haha..."
"Are you all bullying the newbie?" His eyes narrowed.
"Of course not!" She vigorously shook her head. "We were just chit-chatting! Why did you think I was bullying her? That’s harsh!"
"She seed a little out of zone to ," he frowned.
"So suspicious, Manager Xun," Rong Wei sighed. "We are just having a healthy team building activity."
"Team building activity so late?"
"It was i Ru’s idea."
She glared at him. "You all agreed!"
"More like dragged," he scoffed.
Xun Chunlei said, "You should head ho. Lian and Li Beiye have already left."
i Ru grinned. "Drop ho, Rong Wei."
He sneered. "I am not your chauffeur."
"She is right, Rong Wei. It is quite late now. Drop her ho."
"Tsk."
i Ru smirked with victory.
Yan Qiu’s ho was close to the office so that wasn’t a problem. Xun Chunlei looked at Zexi.
"Your house is a little farther away, right? Shall I drop you ho? Or wait...is your boyfriend coming to pick you up?"
i Ru whistled. "What? You already have a boyfriend! And you are so young!"
Rong Wei grimaced. "She is an adult."
Zexi scratched her chin. "I am yet to call him..."
"Okay. I will wait with you until he arrives then," he nodded.
The rest three waved them goodbye with i Ru the only one still charged with energy to spare. Rong Wei and Yan Qiu walked helplessly beside her.
Zexi quickly sent a ssage to Bojing and coughed. "You really don’t have to stay back, Sir..."
"No, I am fine. It’s not safe for you to be alone."
"Thank you."
He asked, "Do you like the team? How are you finding the work until now? You can tell if anybody is bullying you, okay? Li Beiye too."
"Oh, no, no. Everybody is really warm and welcoming. I am also learning a lot!"
He was taken aback. "Wow, it’s nice to see the energy. If you keep up that attitude and perseverance, then you are bound to get even more exciting projects. I an yes, Survival Grounds is definitely the star of Quantum Gas right now but we have more fun projects in the pipeline too."
Zexi’s eyes shone brilliantly. "R-Really?"
"Yes. Right now, you should focus on Survival Grounds but later on, I will show you so initial plans we are building based on this SG’s success. If you perform well here, you might get a chance to be a part of the other projects from scratch."
"Th-Thank you so much!" Zexi deeply bowed, unable to contain her happiness. This was exactly the kind of work she had envisioned herself working in.
After waiting for fifteen minutes, a black car arrived from their right side and stopped at a distance. The door opened and Bojing timidly stepped out, glancing left and right. His eyes shone the mont his gaze landed on Zexi.
"Zexi!"
"Bojing!" She eagerly waved at him.
Bojing walked quickly towards her but slowed down upon seeing Xun Chunlei. He rembered eting him the last ti he ca to fetch her. Nervousness imdiately gripped him.
"H-Hello. Were you w-waiting with Zexi all t-this ti?"
"Yeah, it was quite late. It’s not a big deal really."
Bojing’s eyes were filled with tears. "S-Sorry! I was l-late...So-Sorry for the inconvenience..."
"Like I said, fifteen minutes hardly count," Xun Chunlei smiled. "I am glad you are here now. By the way, just out of curiosity. Are you two high school sweethearts? You are also quite young."
Bojing blushed. "N-No. We didn’t m-et in high school or anything..."
"College?"
"No..." he wasn’t sure if he should tell about Zexi’s previous loan shark circumstances.
"Ah, I am sorry. Maybe it’s private. I thought it was a cute high school love story or sothing," he scratched his chin.
Zexi anxiously said, "No, no, please don’t apologize Sir."
He waved his hand in dismissal. "No problem. Anyway, I will take my leave. Be careful on your way."
As he left, Bojing couldn’t help but sniffle. "Your Boss is really nice."
"I know right?" Her eyes bead. "You know, you know? He said that I could be a part of even more exciting projects in the future!"
Bojing blood with joy and pride. "Th-that’s so aweso, Zexi. You will do great!"
"Hehe," she grinned.
"H-How is the investigation going? Nobody d-doubts you yet, right?" He asked, concerned.
"No," she sighed. "I am not able to find much on Zhang Luqi but her replacent Yan Qiu..." Her brows furrowed, "I feel he acts a little suspiciously at tis."
