"What is the fun if we switch off all the lights?" Ren Xuanjie’s gaze darkened.
"Then you could have let alone in my graveyard," Qin Ruwen protested.
"There is no fun in that either."
"I will never forgive you for this...You will be my first test subject for the new poison I am concocting."
He scoffed. "Sure, if you could first defend yourself from the blinding light I will throw it at your face."
He cursed under his breath.
"Co out from under the couch already," he grimaced.
"You want to snatch the only solace I have?" His gaze turned cold.
Ren Xuanjie. "Suit yourself. You are gonna miss all the good food."
Bojing said, "I will s-slide in the plate for you, Senior Qin."
"I love you, Bojing. Do you want to join in? Dark is fun."
"Hey! No adding others in your spooky cult!" He glared.
To save his ears from the blasting music, Qin Ruwen put his headphones on and turned towards the other side to have the least harm to his eyes from all those flashy karaoke lights. Turning on a haunting piece of music, he sighed in relief and closed his eyes.
When he opened them again, he let out a yawn after completing a nice, long nap.
Is it finally ti to leave? He thought to himself as he switched off the music.
"Hey co on, Yong. Why are you hesitating? Dance for us."
Qin Ruwen blinked upon hearing a strange voice he didn’t recognize.
"Why are you so shy now~"
Then he heard a female voice. "Wow, Yong. I didn’t know you did this kind of a side hustle?" She chuckled.
At that point, Qin Ruwen thought - Where is Bojing and everybody else?
He turned towards the other side and through the gap between the couch and the floor, saw quite a few pairs of feet.
Who are these people? Why are they here?
He craned his neck and caught another woman’s figure standing near the door. He recognized so kind of a traditional dance outfit from whatever he could see till her knees.
Three guys then rose from their seats and approached the woman nad Yong, physically forcing and harassing her to dance. He heard the sa woman laughing again from another end.
"I said stop," he heard Yong’s icy voice. "Even though I work here, I don’t want to entertain you. I will accept the cut in my paycheck."
"Co on Yong, don’t be such a spoilsport~ Don’t you act so haughty in college? What happened now?"
"Anhe, I-I think we should let her go..." another woman’s voice whispered to the first woman nad Anhe, who seed to be trying to stop her.
Qin Ruwen noticed a particular man from the group getting all touchy and aggressive, which Yong was clearly resisting.
"I said stop! I will complain to the principal."
Anhe burst into laughter. "You an the principal who is also my Dad, right? And what do you think will happen? Will we be punished or you~"
"Co on babe just one dance and you can go~"
Qin Ruwen yawned and moved. The couch under which he was lying seated Anhe and Daxia. So he could clearly see their dainty feet. He lifted his hand and poked the feet to his left.
Anhe slapped her feet, thinking it was so fly. Qin Ruwen poked it again and this ti she froze.
"Um, can you make so space for ?"
The karaoke room fell silent. Above the couch, Anhe’s face had paled as white as a ghost.
"D-Did you hear that too?"
Aang was stunned. "Did sobody just speak up from below the...couch?"
"Yes..." Qin Ruwen whispered like a ghost. "I need to leave."
Daxia shrieked. "W-What is happening?"
Yibo snorted. "Oh co on! I am sure Anhe is playing a prank with us. You put so creepy voice recording under the couch to fool around with us, right?"
Anhe took a sharp breath, gritting her teeth. "I didn’t, idiot!"
Qin Ruwen hushed again. "It seems like you want to join in the void...Do you?" His low voice whispered dreamily. "You should, you know. Darkness is everybody’s best friend, even ghosts’."
Yibo rolled his eyes. "Okay this is too much now. I wanna see Yong’s dance, not hear so creepy dude’s voice. I will prove it to you guys that it’s all Anhe’s prank."
He walked over to the couch and bent on his hands and knees.
Anhe almost lost her soul. "Don’t be an idiot! There is really sothing u-under the couch..."
"Yeah, whatever."
Yibo craned his neck to the floor level and peeked in. A pair of black eyes t him back with a deadly grim countenance.
Qin Ruwen whispered. "Do you want to join the void with ? There is no entry fee."
Yibo felt like he aged a hundred years in a split second. His body violently trembled and his throat choked. He attempted to spit out so words, but the horror was too much to handle.
"AAAAAHHHHH!!!.GHOOOOSSTTT!!"
Yibo sohow scrambled on his feet and dashed out of the room at the first golden chance he got. He didn’t see left. He didn’t see right. Just straight out of the room.
"What the hell man!" Aang was speechless. "Why did he escape like a madman?"
Suddenly, Aang saw a pair of hands creeping and slithering out from under the couch.
"W-What is that..." he stumbled back in fear.
The rest of the gang also witnessed the horror of sobody’s pale fingers sliding out from where it wasn’t supposed to.
Needless to say, the gang shrieked in loud voices and just like Yibo, made a run towards the exit in a flash.
"Ghost! Ghost!!!"
It was all chaos until they finally left and silence returned.
Only Yong remained frozen against the wall, her breath stuck in her throat. She wanted to run away like everybody else but felt her feet too rooted to the floor.
Qin Ruwen noticed a pair of feet still standing inside the room.
He asked with so trouble, "Excuse , Mam. I need to co out. Can you please switch off the lights in this room?"
