Bojing’s mind churned to think about the ti when he had noticed the bandaid on Yong’s cheek. At first, it was there, then it wasn’t for so ti when he happened to glance at her and then it was back again.
Was that related to what sis is saying now? Was I seeing her illusion back then?
At the sa ti as Bojing was lost in his thoughts, Shilin was keenly staring at him. He realized what Bojing might have realized.
Yong chuckled at Jia. "As always, police officers are so adept in concocting wild theories which they cannot prove. Do you have any evidence that I did such an elaborate setup?"

She glanced at Shilin and Bojing - the two witnesses who were with her along with Daxia.

Mingshen asked, "What about the..."
"The chip?" She pointed at Qin Ruwen. "It was your assistant who tampered with it. I was lucky he turned out to be a toxicologist."
Qin Ruwen’s ears perked up. "Oh that day when you asked to do that surgery on you to neutralize the poison? Ah, that was so beautiful poison. Just the type I would love to experint on so very nasty people..." he said in a dreamy daze. "I learned a lot from it."
Shilin’s brows slightly twitched hearing the strange allure in his voice.
Mingshen sneered. "I see you two have gotten very close."
He tilted his head in the darkness. "Really? I was more interested in the poison."
Jia squinted her eyes at her. For now, she appreciated her luck that through so very surprising and far-fetched coincidence, Yong and Qin Ruwen happened to et.

Yong didn’t respond.
Qin Ruwen blinked his eyes in the darkness. "Boss was looking for her?"
Mingshen shot him a glare. "That’s why I wish I could wring your neck."

Jia asked, "Are you in the mood to talk about what happened at the charity event night or do you want to feign ignorance again? And before you deny anything, I have a witness with who clearly rembers your face when you had crashed into him. So you cannot run away this ti."
Yong said nothing.
"Are you a part of She? Considering how you were on the stage with the leader, do you know their true identity?"
Yong leaned back and sneered. "Why should I answer any of your questions?"
"Either you answer them here or I am happy to take you to the bureau."
"You do know this is the Huayuan, right?"
She smiled. "Yes and I know you are referring to the cooperation contract but there are limits to it. You are a person of interest related to the case and we have a witness to testify against you so Huayuan and Huayuan’s leader have to cooperate with us. Frankly speaking, I don’t care about the contract."
Her voice turned cold. "I saw the condition of a sixteen year old innocent girl and what happened to her at the hands of these cult people. So I don’t care how much you hate the cops, but I need answers. I have played enough cat and mouse gas with you."
Mingshen nodded rrily. "No ssing with Spicy~"
Yong’s eyes shone equally icy. "Oh really? Suddenly, the cops seem to have grown a spine of their own? The nerve of you to show that attitude to when it should be the reverse."
Bojing paled with the air of confrontation. "L-Let’s talk peacefully..."
"Don’t worry, Senior Lu. Everything will be fine," Shilin said in reassurance.
Jia frowned. "What do you an?"
"None of your business."
"It is!" Jia was losing her patience.
Yong jolted with her response.
"I want to see that cult behind the bars before it hurts more innocent people. I am running around in the dark and you are the only one to explain so sense as to what is going on. I don’t care who I have to fight but I will get my answers tonight at any cost."
Silence ensued.
Yong glanced at everybody one by one and focused her gaze back on Jia.
"Fine. If you want your answers that badly, then co with ."
She got up on her feet and headed out.
Mingshen shrugged. "I was getting bored here in the dark anyway."
Qin Ruwen put on his eye mask ready to leave.
Bojing was dumbfounded. "Y-you are coming too?"
"I finally found my eye mask so why not? My life is safe now," he nodded.
They followed Yong who led them up to one of the higher floors. Yong saw an attendant step out of a particular room, tense. She looked at the crowd before her and straightened up.
Yong glanced at the door and back at her, who was holding a tray in her hands.
"Nothing?"
She helplessly shook her head.
"Give it to ."
Yong took the tray from her and asked her to leave. She faced the door and slowly pushed it open. She peered at Jia and said, "You wanted your answers, right? Go in. Your answer is right there."
Jia knitted her brows, puzzled. She took slow steps with Mingshen following right behind her.
She peeked inside the room where she could only see a long stretch of darkness at first. But at the far corner of the room, she noticed a woman’s figure sitting near the window and staring out of it with no emotion.
Yong said, "She is...Aunt Ruolan."
