She bead. "Yes! My son is getting an award. Isn’t he so aweso~? My husband and I created such a perfect son except for his low EQ."

"To say that about your own son..."

"Truth is bitter. Oh Lanlan is also going, right? She even booked their tickets."

He frowned. "He better not get chummy with my daughter just because they will be alone."

Yang Bingqing gasped. "My son doesn’t know how to be chummy in the first place!"

"Good."

"Except with Jia~ So you can relax."

"Do you really think that ship is gonna sail?"

Yang Bingqing began to sweat. "I-I have full hopes in my son..."

He rolled his eyes. "Whatever. But he better not dream of sailing his ship with my daughter!"

"Aish, you are such a party pooper. Anyway, keep updated. See ya later~"

She hung up and imdiately almost stumbled off balance. Her chest heaved a little as she exhaled breathlessly.

The Zhuos’...

She felt a poke on her shoulder, making her slightly gasp. Yang Cheng looked at her, puzzled.

"Why do you look so pale?"

"Cheng!" Her expression took a one-eighty turn and she hopped to hug him. "My dearest hubby!"

He ignored her enthusiasm and touched her forehead. He frowned, not feeling any temperature.

"Are you feeling any chills? Weakness? Drowsiness?"

"Aish I am fine, Cheng! You are worrying needlessly," she pouted.

"You need a checkup. Co with ."

"No, no. I am really not sick."

"I am the doctor, not you."

"..."

In the end, there was no way she could win against her husband. Whenever it was about health and such, Yang Cheng would be like a stubborn rock.

So they sat down and he did a thorough checkup. Yang Bingqing grinned and sensually brushed her finger against his neck.

"Does this remind you of our-"

"Keep quiet. I am not able to listen to your heartbeat."

"Doesn’t it always beat for you?" She blushed. "What is there to check?"

"Any irregularity that could signify a heart attack."

"..."

She wiped her invisible tears.

It’s hard to be the only romantic and perverted one in this marriage...

After what it seed like an eternity, Yang Cheng was finally done. But he wasn’t satisfied.

"You are not sick."

"That’s what I told you," she pouted again.

"So why did you stumble back just now?" He blinked.

"Ah well..."

Yang Bingqing couldn’t imdiately answer. "I was just thinking about the past, that’s all, haha."

He stared at her. "The past which I don’t know about?"

"I an it is partly related to that and partly not..."

"So what was the other part about?" He asked, unfazed.

She pressed her lips, smiling awkwardly. "Just happened to rember...sothing painful."

Suddenly, Yang Cheng realized what it was about and his expression turned grim. She didn’t need to explicitly state any further. There was only one painful past between them.

"Why did you rember that now?" He quietly asked.

"Did you ever really forget about it?"

He said nothing. Yang Cheng knew he wasn’t really good at comforting so he simply gave her his quiet silence.

Yang Bingqing wrapped her arm around his and put her head on his shoulder. "I am sorry for bringing it up."

"Shouldn’t I be sorry?" he asked instead.

She knew in what context he was asking and smiled. "Nope."

"But you had thrown divorce papers on my face."

She cleared her throat. "That was just in the heat of the mont. Of course I won’t divorce my sexy husband and let other won have any chance for you."

"You always try to deviate like this," he scolded her.

"I am not...Anyway! Cheng, Cheng! I was thinking if we should go to London too~ I know Mingshen doesn’t care about us attending his award ceremony but as proud parents, we should," she harrumphed. "I will get a chance to drag Jia too!" She bead. "It’s so aweso! Do you know who will be presenting the award to Mingshen?"

She grinned and took out her phone, showing him a picture.

"Look, it’s Miss. Zelda ndez. Isn’t she a super cool neurosurgeon? She is so sassy even though she is retired now. You must know her, right? After all, she was one of the professors in the sa university where you studied, right?"

"Hm."

"So isn’t it a great chance to et her too?" Her eyes sparkled.

"Not really."

Her bubble of excitent burst. "You don’t want to go to London?"

"No."

She cried. "I thought I will get to see the big ben."

"I will take you so other ti."

She kissed his cheek. "I will buy lots of stuff from there and do lots of shopping. Basically, I will squeeze you dry~"

"You can squeeze dry in so other way too."

She choked so hard that she felt she would die. Blood almost trickled down the corner of her lips.

"Y-You...just cannot drop that out of nowhere!" She fanned her heated cheeks.

He smiled ever so faintly. "Will you still think that you are the only romantic and perverted one in this marriage?"

Is he a mind reader...?

"Let’s go."

She blushed. "We are already on the bed..."

He blinked at her. "I an for a walk."

Her brow twitched. "But you just created the atmosphere..."

"It’s ti for our walk."

"We can have so different kind of an exercise too you know~" she winked.

"Health first. Sex later," he plainly said without a change in his expression.

"..."

I take that back! You are not romantic at all! Who will care about an evening walk at this ti!?

Jia got busy the next day with a mountain full of files in front of her. She was determined to scour through all the case files related to Nuwa’s disappearance and figure out any connection with either the Hou or the Zhuo family.

Sohow She was connected with her disappearance so it was like striking two birds with one stone. She paused as a thought struck her.

Could the Zhuo family really involved though? Zhuo Syaoran was ready to beco the witness to testify against Yong, knowing that she had escaped from the cult’s gathering.

So why would he do sothing to help expose this gang if his family might have sothing to do with it?
