Jia’s eyes narrowed. She was lost in her thoughts when ng Rin’s voice on the call brought her back.
"Do you think that that woman could be Miss. Nuwa?"
"You said this happened around 12-13 years ago, right?"
"That’s what Miss. Wu said to ."
"Then it is highly probable that it was her."
"I see..."
Jia felt her downcast voice. "Is everything okay? Did she doubt you because of your questions?"
"No, no. It’s not that. I just..."
It occurred to Jia a mont later. "You thought that if she was connected to Hou Tengqi and his family sohow, then you would get your chance to break up with him."
ng Rin didn’t respond to that but Jia knew she was right on the mark.
"ng Rin, I am telling you. You don’t need to find such excuses or reasons. If you don’t want a relationship with him then tell him."
"He is not that kind of a person to understand," her voice quivered. "You don’t understand, Miss. Song."
She bit her lip. "Look, just tell and I will help you. If he is hurting you, then I can help you. That’s abuse."
"It’s..plicated."
"But Bai Yingtai saw him about to hit you. That’s why you should co forward. ng Rin, it will be too late if you keep bearing this. Okay, how about this? The next ti he says anything that makes you uncomfortable or unsafe, record him. Be alert, especially when he is talking to you. If he threatens you against breaking up with him and we have clear evidence, then I can put those handcuffs on his damn wrists."

Jia softly said, "You can co to anyti you want. If you feel you cannot take it anymore, then just escape. The onus of finding evidence shouldn’t be on you anyway. I will figure out how to deal with Hou Tengqi. But please, just be safe."
"Thank you, Miss. Song," her voice choked. "But I won’t give up. I...I want to walk out on my own. Bai Yingtai saved last ti and it made realize how weak and pathetic I was."
"You are not weak and pathetic, ng Rin," Jia sternly said.
"But I am not strong and confident like you either. Like Dr. Yang or like...Bai Yingtai," her voice lowered.

Jia leaned back on her chair after hanging up the call with ng Rin. Though she admired ng Rin stepping up to be courageous, she also wanted her to be safe.
She thought for a mont and picked her phone. She ntally calculated the ti in London and figured that it would be afternoon ti.
"Spicyyyyyyy! You called on your own?" He gasped, clutching his chest.
Jia rolled her eyes. "Stop being so dramatic."
"You don’t understand my feelings. This proves that Spicy misses as ardently as I do~ Hold on, I want this to be a video call."
They switched to their videos and Jia imdiately choked in her throat.
"Mingshen, you are half-naked!"
The hustle and bustle of the bureau suddenly fell silent as everybody stared at Jia. She felt their prying gazes and she pressed her lips. She quickly left her desk and walked out of the room.
"Why do you always give shocks like that?"
"Sexy shocks you an," he grinned. "I thought you would be happy to admire my toned abs and muscles."
"How about you show those to your future wife which is right next to your room?" She smiled.
"How could you be like that, Spicy? This pure and pristine body is only for your sight and touch," he huskily said.
"Oh my God you won’t even let talk to you without my headphones on!" She glared.
She put on her earphones and made a face. "First you forced to move out and now the earphones. Why are you half-naked anyway? Isn’t it afternoon there?"
"I was just working out. Then I saw your call and I had to show you my fitness results~"
"I don’t want to see that."
"You are wasting a golden opportunity."
"I never liked gold in the first place. Anyway, I called you for sothing important."
"Are you finally coming to London?" He shone.
"No."
That made his hopes fall with a crash-landing.
"I was wondering if you could tell Bai Yingtai to..." she scratched her chin, "like to just look out for her?"
Mingshen tilted his head. "I sll so gossip."
"It’s not any gossip."
Jia summarized it for him and he raised his brow.
"Well, I don’t think I have to tell Bai Yingtai anything. He would be doing that all by himself."
"Why?"
"Because he likes her."
Her eyes widened. "Huh? Likes her? You an...?"
"As a man, yes. So I am pretty sure he won’t leave her alone, especially after what happened at the charity night," he chuckled. "I am just waiting for the news of when he will bang his head again."
"..."
Wow, I didn’t see this coming at all...
"Plus she also has that actor looking after her. That drama actor, what was his na again?"
She blinked. "Bai Caishen?"
"Yup that one."
"Well yeah he is her friend and colleague but..."
"Not just her friend and colleague but also her future brother-in-law."
"I am sorry?"
"He is Bai Yingtai’s brother."
The phone almost slipped off her hands. "W-What!?"
Shock ran all over her face.
"Brother? Like brothers brothers?"
"What other kind of brothers are there?" He grimaced.
Her jaw dropped in shock. "You are just giving shocks one after the other! Oh my gosh..."
