"Why are you so super clingy tonight, Mingshen?" Jia asked, seeing Mingshen seated close to her in the Bureau and not leaving her side even for a mont.
"It’s our victory, Spicy. We should be out celebrating, but here you are working to your last bone."
"We have taken Commissioner Zhong into our custody. You do realize it’s a huge thing, don’t you? It’s gonna shake all kinds of apples from all kinds of trees. Then a freaking Politburo family," she shook her head and leaned back in her chair.
"Ah...I don’t see an easy life coming ahead..."
Mingshen pouted. "Why not? On the contrary, the other standing families would be happy to get rid of them and bring in so new faces~"
"But do you think the Hous’ will give up so soon? They haven’t amassed their influence over nothing. They are not gonna sit quiet and accept prison ti like it’s a birthday gift."

Jia glanced at him. "You knew about Hou Anming helping..."
He shrugged. "I only thought that his relationship with Syaoran wasn’t bad. I have seen them in other functions before where they have talked quite amiably. I don’t think that was politics on part of Syaoran or Anming. They are genuinely good friends. When..."
Jia saw his gaze wander left and right uncertainly, a shadow falling upon his sharp, handso features.
"That day when Dad saved Syaoran," his voice turned unnaturally quieter, thinking about the sa day he had lost his sister.
"The only person to co visit him was Hou Anming. He had stayed by his side the entire ti he was unconscious. Even after, he was with him the whole ti tending to him. I could tell that Syaoran wasn’t quite pleased about that because he was feeling awkward to take his help in his weakened state."
"Oh..."
A bitter restlessness crept in her heart, seeing Mingshen’s gaze cloud over. She didn’t know why but his gloomy expression unsettled her.
Mingshen looked at her and smiled. "So I think Anming loves him."
"Huh?" She almost stumbled in her chair. "Sorry, what?"
"I am pretty sure Anming loves him. It was so obvious when I saw him in the hospital taking care of him with Zihan. They weren’t just purely friendly feelings, you know? Which is why he got ready to take the bla of so fake murder attempt and show the money flowing from his account. He will do anything for Syaoran."
Her jaw dropped, stunned. She did know that there was definitely a strong bond between them. To take the Hou family down was not only because of Nuwa and Zihan but also to free Anming from their treacherous grasp.
But Jia didn’t realize that the special bond could be love.
"But...he is married."
"You think Hou Huan would have ever allowed it?" he snorted. "Never. Besides, the Hou family has a greater standing than the Zhuo family being a Politburo family. I guess if Anming had insisted a relationship with him, they wouldn’t have gone easy upon the Zhuos’. They would have asked the Zhuo parents to send him sowhere far away, maybe abroad, and they would have done that too. Not like they are very fond of their invalid son. I think the only reason they didn’t send him away was because of Zihan. He was probably stubborn that he wanted his brother by his side."
"I see...And now?"
He glanced at her. "I don’t know. He is not the kind of a person to just abandon his wife and pursue his love. Even if the Hou family will be in jail, I believe he will honor his marriage."
Ugh...
"Do you think Hou Delan knows...?"
He shrugged. "Not sure. But I don’t think he would have kept it from her because he knows he wouldn’t be able to love her like a true wife."
Jia released a sigh. It felt like a tragedy no matter where she looked.
"That’s why you should appreciate more and more!"

"Where is this coming from?"
Mingshen proudly scoffed. "I am the devil that gets what I want. I don’t make tragic sacrifices, which ans that we will never have to suffer such a tearful separation! Didn’t you see that even in the face of that ga CEO’s seduction, I stayed loyal to only you~"
Her brow twitched.
"I will never give up on my beautiful, sexy Spicy!" He announced.
The officers passing by threw shocked glances to their side.
"Is it a proposal?"
"A proposal!"
"Yang Mingshen loves her so much!"
Jia was left speechless. She jabbed her foot in his and glared at him. But...seeing the goofy grin back on his face instead of the earlier lancholic gloom toned down her displeasure. Her heart felt a light tug. It was way better to see him grinning like an idiot than see the smile vanish from his lips. Her remaining displeasure, if any, fizzled out all at once and she simply sighed.
"Spicy didn’t curse ?" He blinked rapidly. "Am I dreaming?"
"It’s your lucky day today," she snorted. "So cherish it."
He gasped. "D-Does it an...that you are ready to explore your bodily functions with !?"
The officers’ heads, yet again, jerked in their direction. Their gossip took a furious turn.
"Oh my gosh! Are Inspector Song and Dr. Yang...going to do ’that’ tonight?"
"Bodily functions ans ’that’ only, right?"
"Damn they have already co so far! And here I am still single!"
"..."
The displeasure ca back double the force. Her gaze darkened by several shades.
Mingshen blushed. "I think we shouldn’t waste a single second further, Spicy~"
She smiled alarmingly. "Of course. I shouldn’t wait a second longer with burying your beaten up body into the earth."
"Beaten up?"
Her knuckles cracked with the sound of doom. "Black and blue, Dr. Yang," she sneered. "Are you ready to explore so different kind of bodily functions with ?"
