Chapter 783: A Matter I Refuse to Understand

Supreme Castle,

Main Gate.

When Shien returned, the enchanting witch was already back.

“You’ve worked hard,” Shafney said, as if nothing had happened, her previous coldness replaced by her usual playful smile, as if trying to fort him.

Shien rolled his eyes and stepped forward.

“Taken care of?” he asked casually.

“Probably,” Shafney replied, also seemingly unconcerned, or perhaps not caring about the aftermath, “If anyone else causes trouble, I don’t mind playing with them.”

“Really?” Shien asked with a smirk, “If that happens, they might actually be happy.”

After all, it was better than being pletely ignored, right? Many would rather be hated by Shafney than ignored by her.

Of course, even if Shafney understood this, she wouldn’t care.

“It doesn’t matter what they want to do, as long as they don’t bother me,” she said. As the Succubus, her request was quite reasonable.

Shien naturally didn’t say anything more. For both him and Shafney, this was just a minor incident.

“Let’s go back.”

“Okay.”

They spoke to each other casually, then entered the Supreme Castle and headed towards their respective rooms.

Outside Central City, on the hillside.

Gray vaguely sensed someone approaching. He forced his eyes open, preventing the blood from flowing into them, and saw the newer clearly.

“…” A man stood before him, looking at him lying in a pool of blood, silent, but his face was filled with sadness.

“Hart…” Gray croaked, his voice hoarse.

The newer was Hart.

Hart didn’t reply, but took out a potion, uncorked it, and poured it onto Gray’s wounds, hoping to heal him.

Unfortunately, the potion was ineffective.

“…It’s useless,” Gray said, his voice emotionless, knowing the reason, “Those are wounds carved into my body and soul by Her Highness using [Ripple Heart Demon]. Although they’re just flesh wounds, they will never heal.”

This was the terror of [Ripple Heart Demon]. Once the connection deepened, the user could freely manipulate the target’s state, including their strength, memories, appearance, and even their very being.

Shafney had carved these wounds into Gray’s body and soul, making them permanent.

In other words, Gray would have to endure the pain and the state of these wounds for the rest of his life.

This was Shafney’s cruelest punishment.

Hart had already realized this. If these wounds could be easily healed, then with Gray’s abilities, even if he hadn’t fully recovered, the bleeding would have stopped. But Gray was still bleeding profusely, his face pale. If he weren’t a top-tier Legendary expert, only one step away from Limit Level, his life force incredibly strong, he would have already bled to death.

But Hart still used the precious potion on him.

“Even if the wounds won’t heal, at least it can replenish your blood,” he said, suppressing his sadness, “If it works, you can also use your own power to stop the bleeding. That way, you won’t lose any more blood.”

This was the only thing Hart could do for Gray.

So, he poured potion after potion onto Gray, finally restoring some color to his face and stopping the bleeding. Then, he took off his coat and draped it over Gray, covering his gruesome wounds. He helped Gray up, letting him lean on his shoulder for support.

Gray stared at him, then finally spoke.

“Hart,” he said softly, “Was I wrong?”

He asked this without any context. Hart, having just arrived, didn’t know what had happened. Gray’s question was baffling to him.

However, with his understanding of Gray and his deduction of the situation, Hart easily understood.

After a long silence, he replied,

“You weren’t wrong.”

“…But she said I had no right to interfere, and that Hero also said I was being self-righteous,” Gray said, unable to hide his pain, “They were right. I’m just someone who abandoned his country and his family for selfish reasons, betraying the expectations of those who raised and trained me. What right do I have to tell them what to do?”

His heart, along with his body, was wounded. Shien and Shafney’s words were like sharp blades, piercing his heart deeply.

Hart could understand Gray’s pain. It was definitely worse than death. Shafney was truly cruel, making someone so devoted to her wish for death. But this devotion was Gray’s own doing. Shafney never gave him any positive response or did anything to wrong him. It was Gray, driven by jealousy, who confronted Shien, trying to force him to stay away from Shafney. Therefore, his current predicament wasn’t entirely undeserved.

Gray was already resigned to his fate. Perhaps, only now did he realize how pathetic and insignificant his love was.

However, Hart still said,

“You weren’t wrong,” he said, his voice trembling as he suppressed his emotions, “After all, this is the desperate struggle of us ‘little people’.”

These words made Gray’s heart tremble. He knew that the “little people” Hart referred to wasn’t about their status in the eyes of the world, but in Shafney’s eyes. They had never entered her sight, insignificant “little people.” And the fate of “little people” was either to be forgotten or to struggle desperately. Both Gray and Hart were the former, but they could bee the latter at any moment.

“Yes, a desperate struggle,” Gray murmured, as if having an epiphany, “Only this way might that person spare us a glance.”

Ultimately, it was all because of jealousy and unwillingness.

That’s why they had to struggle and do something.

Seeing this, Hart, without a word, carried Gray on his back and flew away from the mountain.

After a while, Gray’s weak voice came from behind him,

“I miss our past.” His voice was filled with weakness and nostalgia.

Hart’s nose twitched.

“Me too,” he said, his voice trembling, making a faint smile appear on Gray’s face.

Hart carried Gray and left.

They didn’t return to Central City.

They spent some time returning to Succubus City.

After returning, Hart did two things.

He resigned as Clan Chief of the Bì’àn Clan.

And he disappeared with Gray.

From that day on, the Demon Race lost an executive, and the world lost a human prince who betrayed his country.

But a pair of mysterious brothers appeared, traveling the world, experiencing various adventures, their footsteps covering almost all of Omnipotence.

At the same time, far from the Moon Demon Territory, a streak of light zipped across the sky, then exploded in mid-air.

Sara emerged from the light, holding a crystal pen, looking like a goddess descending from heaven, incredibly beautiful.

“This should be the place, right?” she said, looking around, then her gaze settled on a spot in mid-air, where a rainbow-colored light flickered.

“Haven’t we arrived yet?” a frustrated, echoing voice asked. A true goddess appeared within the rainbow light, flying listlessly.

“Found you,” Sara said, a smile appearing on her lips, then she teleported, blocking the goddess’s path.

“Yaa!” The goddess, startled, let out a small cry.

Sara looked at her and smiled sweetly.

“It’s been a while, Goddess of Time,” she said, her greeting friendly.

The Goddess of Time finally saw her clearly.

“You… you’re Sara, the Moon Demon…!?” she exclaimed, covering her mouth in surprise.

Although Sara found her reaction exaggerated, she also knew that this goddess’s mind worked in mysterious ways, and nothing she did was surprising.

Just as Sara was about to speak, the goddess’s next words stunned her.

“Aren’t you pregnant with your tenth child? Why are you running around?”

“???” Sara was dumbfounded.

Pregnant?

With her tenth child?

What… what was this nonsense?

“Ah!” The Goddess of Time seemed to remember something and covered her mouth with both hands.

“I almost forgot, this is the original timeline,” she said, seemingly annoyed.

“…” Sara fell silent. Her rationality told her that this goddess, whose mind worked in mysterious ways, seemed to know something incredibly important to her. bining her words with her power, the intelligent Sara instantly thought of a possibility, but her mind refused to accept it. Therefore, she immediately decided to seal this memory, acting as if she had just arrived and knew nothing, then looked at the Goddess of Time.

“I have something I need your help with,” she said.

“What?” The Goddess of Time was stunned.

“Take me to God’s Canyon,” Sara said directly.

This was her reason for ing here.

Chapter 784: Finally Meeting! The Goddesses of Time!

Naturally, Shien was unaware of what happened with Sara.

He only knew that the next day, just as he woke up, Sara sent someone to call for him.

“Someone’s looking for you. Good luck,” Sara said upon seeing him.

“???” Shien was pletely confused.

Then, a figure enveloped in rainbow light appeared before him.

“We finally found you! Hero!”

The voice was unique, like several young voices overlapping, ethereal and echoing. However, this pleasant voice was filled with relief, as if a long and arduous journey had finally ended, and a touch of emotion.

Shien instinctively took a step back, finally seeing the figure clearly. A girl, her body enveloped in a rainbow-colored light, her limbs slender and graceful, hovered in mid-air, looking at him with an expression of… joy and relief, tears welling up in her eyes.

“It was so hard to find you, do you know that?” she said, floating towards Shien with tears in her eyes, immediately launching into a tirade.

“The Human Realm and the Demon Realm are so big, much bigger than the Divine Realm. We often get lost even in the Divine Realm, and after ing to the Human Realm, we were lost for so long, and after following you to the Demon Realm, we were lost again for so long! We finally found you!”

“Why didn’t you, a human, just stay put in the Human Realm, in the Mitra Kingdom’s Royal Capital, and wait for me to find you?”

“Promise me, don’t run around anymore, okay?”

The goddess looked at Shien with teary eyes, as if she would burst into tears if he didn’t agree.

Shien’s lips twitched, and he turned to Sara.

“Where did you find this weirdo?” he asked, unable to municate with or understand this goddess, giving up and asking Sara directly.

Unfortunately, Sara had been busy all night and hadn’t rested.

She simply waved her hand at Shien.

“Don’t ask me, I don’t know anything. You ask her. I’m going back to sleep.”

Leaving these words, Sara turned and left.

“Wait…” Just as Shien was about to stop her, the goddess floated before him, spreading her arms as if to prevent him from passing.

“You’re not allowed to run around anymore! I don’t want to spend hundreds of years looking for you again!”

Why can I understand every single word she says, but not a single sentence when they’re put together?

Shien rubbed his temples and looked at the goddess before him.

Then, he noticed something strange.

First, although her words and actions were inprehensible, a strange aura surrounded her, as if she didn’t exist here, yet existed everywhere.

Second, she possessed immense power, the brilliant rainbow light around her causing spatial fluctuations, so strong that it felt like a hole had opened in space, or an invisible passage had appeared.

Finally, his [Outer Awareness of Heaven’s Decree] couldn’t see her level.

All of this told Shien that this goddess wasn’t ordinary.

She was a Transcendent Level being!

“Are you Artemis, the Goddess of Justice?” he asked, both surprised and uncertain.

Among the God Race, the Transcendent Level goddesses were the Three Goddesses, the Goddess of Justice, the Goddess of Evil, and the Three Goddesses of Time. He already knew and had met the Three Goddesses, and Lilith, the Goddess of Evil, was his “little darling.” Therefore, she could only be Artemis or one of the Three Goddesses of Time.

However, there was only one person before him, not three.

So, he guessed she was Artemis.

However…

“Of course not!” the goddess said, slightly annoyed, “I’m not that strict goddess who only tells people to work hard and study and doesn’t let them have any fun!”

“Uh…” Shien was confused. Not Artemis?

“Then you’re one of the Three Goddesses of Time?” he asked, “But aren’t they a trinity of three people?”

“That’s right,” the goddess smiled, putting her hands on her hips and looking proud, “We are three sisters, a trinity. This is just our merged form.”

As she spoke, the rainbow light around her intensified.

Shien instinctively took a step back, raising a hand to shield his eyes from the blinding light, peeking through his fingers.

Within the rainbow light, the girl’s figure turned into light and separated.

Then, three small figures appeared.

They were three little girls, each with distinct characteristics.

In the middle was a soft and gentle-looking girl with medium-length, straight hair.

On the left was a more intellectual-looking girl with a side ponytail.

On the right was a lively-looking girl with twintails.

Three adorable little girls, like delicate dolls, appeared before Shien.

“I… I’m Norn, the eldest…” the soft-spoken girl said weakly.

“I’m Verdande, the second,” the proud girl said seriously, her cute face stretched tight.

“I’m Skuld, the youngest!” the energetic girl exclaimed.

Seeing this, Shien confirmed their identities.

The three youngest and least experienced, yet most special, Goddesses of the God Race were truly before him. They were only about two thousand years old, incredibly young pared to the other Goddesses. And yet, these three youngest Goddesses fought Kamina, the Poison Demon, to a standstill in the final battle a thousand years ago.

The Three Goddesses of Time had descended.

Of course, for Shien, this wasn’t necessarily a good thing.

Perhaps knowing that Shien needed time to process this, Sara seemed to have given orders not to disturb him.

So, Shien was alone with these three little goddesses and began to chat with them. Actually, it was mainly Verdande, the second sister, who spoke with him. Norn, the eldest, hid timidly behind Verdande, and Skuld, the youngest, was a restless child, running around and looking at everything curiously, like a country bumpkin. Moreover, although Verdande seemed calm and posed, like a little adult, her words and actions still betrayed her nervousness, making munication with these three goddesses incredibly difficult.

After a whole hour, Shien finally understood the situation.

“So, you were sent by Nadue to watch over me, right?” he asked, finally getting it. It took him a whole hour just to understand this, making him feel frustrated.

The Three Goddesses of Time, seeing that he finally understood, were relieved.

“L-Lady Nadue said that you are the Hero, very, very important to the God Race, and we can’t afford to lose you, so she had to send capable people to watch over you and protect you,” Verdande explained seriously.

“Y… yes…” Norn mustered her courage and said.

“This is the most important mission we’ve received in the past thousand years. We must plete it perfectly!” Skuld said excitedly.

“But you spent so long just to find me,” Shien wanted to say this. He learned from these three little girls that they were sent after he left the Elven Homeland. But now, at least a month had passed since then. They spent a whole month just looking for him? How unreliable could they be?

Fortunately, he didn’t know that in their search for him, they forcibly opened a spacetime passage, not only causing the passage he was using to collapse, but also getting themselves lost in different time periods for hundreds of years before finally returning. If he knew this, he wouldn’t just think they were unreliable, but that they were clowns.

And if he knew that even after returning to the correct time period, they were still lost for half a month, unable to find him, he would probably question his existence.

Sometimes, ignorance was bliss.

Of course, after being found by these three goddesses, Shien might not be so lucky anymore.

“A-Anyway, from today onwards, we will be following you!” Verdande declared.

“Mm-hmm!” Norn nodded repeatedly, almost like Lilith.

“Hey, big brother, are there any fun places here?” Skuld, seemingly having forgotten her mission, clung to Shien, her eyes shining, clearly wanting to go out and play.

“…” Shien suddenly felt that his future might be quite bleak.

These are goddesses?

They’re more like trouble magnets!

He had just bee a god (reached Limit Level), and now he had to take care of three troublemakers?

…Seriously, can I run away?
