After three glasses of cocktails, the three of them finally decided to hit the dance floor. Cixi was definitely more intoxicated than Marion and Lily. The shyness that had held her back from dancing was completely gone. Marion, Lily, and Cixi danced their hearts out to the House music.

Cixi simply followed Lily and Marion’s lead, laughing and enjoying herself without caring about anything else in the world.

As the clock edged closer to two in the morning, the House music took on a deeper pulse, and the crowd grew more energised, filling the dance floor with restless excitent as they danced on.

On the upper level of the VIP lounge, a few n in suits lounged with expensive drinks in hand, watching a young, beautiful woman in her early twenties as she danced provocatively against a young man. Her hips rolled enticingly while the young man kept his arms wrapped around her waist, clearly enjoying the mont.

"Binge, should we bring your wife and her lover here?" one of the n suggested casually.

"Not now..." said the man whose wife was dancing with her boyfriend. He looked to be in his forties, and he exuded an intimidating aura that could make anyone tremble. One glance into his eyes was enough to make a person feel as though they might soil themselves.

When his young wife turned and pressed her lips to her lover’s, anger flared violently through him. He rose abruptly from the couch, descended the stairs, and shoved his way through the dense crowd. One of his n followed close behind.

As he brushed aggressively past Marion, his large hand dragged across her lower back.

Marion spun and slapped him without caring who he was.

"You prick, what do you think you’re doing?" Marion shouted, shoving him hard enough to make him stumble back in shock. Whatever haze the alcohol had cast over her was gone now. Her temper had reached boiling point.

"You dare to hit ?"

"And you dare to touch the no-no place!" Marion shot back.

By then, the music had slowed, and the dancing crowd had co to a halt, all eyes fixed on Marion and the man in his forties.

The DJ glanced at the bouncer, who quickly moved to assess the situation. However, the mont the staff recognised the man standing before them, they hesitated. He was one of the second-in-command mbers of the drug mafia from a neighbouring city, known as Binge. He was a VIP custor.

Through gritted teeth, Binge demanded, "When did I even touch you, woman? I was just reaching for my—" Realising he was drawing too much attention, his gaze darted around in search of his wife and her lover, but they were nowhere to be seen.

They had fled the place.

One of his n approached, leaned in, and whispered sothing into his ear, causing Binge’s fists to clench tighter as he glared at Marion.

anwhile, Cixi and Lily stood by her side, silently showing their support.

"Go and catch them. I want them found tonight. And bring them to the basent," he ordered his man. Then he pointed a finger at Marion. "Because of you, I lost them."

With that, he lunged for her hair, intending to drag her away to the car park and teach her what happened when soone laid hands on a mafia man.

But before he could touch her, Marion pulled her leg back and drove a sharp kick straight into his groin, powered by the trained force of a professional kickboxer and the instinctive fear of being attacked.

Binge’s eyes practically bulged out of his skull. His anger vanished, replaced by pure, unfiltered agony as he crumpled heavily to his knees, clutching his ruined groin.

"Hey! You crazy Bitch!" one of the n roared, and two more surged forward, ready to go after Marion.

Lily, always quick on her feet, stepped in and sprayed pepper spray directly into one man’s eyes, making him scream in agony. She had been prepared from the mont the violence erupted. Pepper spray was her go-to solution in situations like this.

Then Lily shouted at the top of her lungs, "Run!"

Marion and Cixi did not need to be told twice. The three girls linked hands tightly and bolted, shoving and elbowing their way through the shocked crowd.

They abandoned the House stage entirely and finally burst through a set of heavy double doors that led onto an open-air terrace.

"Where do we go? Where do we go?" Cixi panted, frantic at the thought of being caught by those n. Her chest heaved as she scanned the dark rooftop.

"Through here!" Lily shouted, yanking open the nearest unmarked tal door she could find along the wall.

The three of them tumbled blindly inside, letting the heavy door slam violently shut behind them.

They instantly froze dead in their tracks. The atmosphere was completely different from that of the house club.

It slled like expensive chemicals, sweat, and heavy narcotics. The lights were dangerously low, throbbing painfully in a deep, hallucinogenic purple instead of bright neon laser flashes.

Every single person on the crowded floor looked completely terrifyingly high.

Strangers were violently making out against every available wall. High above the chaotic floor, suspended on dizzying, narrow tal platforms, won wearing nothing but glittering bikinis were lazily dancing around towering chro poles.

Cixi’s, Lily’s, and Marion’s hearts plumted straight into their stomachs. They had accidentally run onto the Trance floor—the one place Lily had explicitly warned them would get them killed.

"Shit! We can’t go back. We have to go through another door..." Lily sounded less confident than before, as if she didn’t know if they would make it through this place.

"Where is the other door?" Cixi asked, scanning her surroundings, when the main door suddenly ca into view and the man they were fleeing appeared.

"They are here!" Cixi whisper-shouted urgently as she pushed Lily to move forward, her heart hamring against her ribs at the thought of the unknown. She had witnessed too many murders to count, and she did not want her friends to go through anything similar. She glanced nervously at the man limping awkwardly from the kick to his groin, and the other one had eyes that looked as if he had been stung by bees.
