Chapter 169: Chapter 83: First Offline Lord eting (3k) Chapter 169: Chapter 83: First Offline Lord eting (3k) The next day, on the outskirts of White Poplar City, in the chanical Workshop

“Lin, do you really have to go? I’m worried about you, maybe I should go alone…”

Su Su frowned slightly, standing behind Jun Lin with a tone of concern.

This morning after waking up, Jun Lin insisted that he must personally conduct reconnaissance on the insect swarm on the border of the region, just like she did last ti.

Although she returned safely last ti, as soone who experienced it firsthand, she knew that they had almost been discovered and that the insects would definitely be on higher alert, undoubtedly increasing the danger.

Despite her persuading, she was unable to change Jun Lin’s mind and had to settle for going with him.

“No! I have to see it for myself to be at ease!”

Jun Lin was resolute, but then his tone softened to reassure:

“Don’t worry, it’ll be fine. We’re better prepared than last ti, right? Our Concealing Technique and Stepping on the Air have both improved a level, there won’t be any problems.

And I’m only going to take a quick look from a distance, I won’t stay long; there were no issues last ti, there definitely won’t be any this ti.”

Jun Lin’s words seed to comfort Su Su as well as himself, calming his own anxious heart.

His main purpose this ti was to confirm the existence of the insect swarm and bring it up at the eting called by Iron Blood, alerting all the Lords.

Otherwise, it might be just like in his previous life when the insect swarm devastated the majority of the Lords, leaving only a few who could endure until the region opened, who then beca re playthings for Lords from other regions due to their weakened strength…

Jun Lin recalled this scene from his mories last night, unable to suppress his concerns, wishing that in this life, the Lords of White Poplar City wouldn’t face such a predicant again.

Ard with the mories of his previous life, he was determined to prevent this tragedy!

The eting called by Iron Blood was an excellent opportunity to remind all the Lords that there was a bigger threat outside.

He was even willing to relinquish the position of leader and not compete for dominance, even going so far as helping Iron Blood secure it!

He knew what Iron Blood was scheming, using the population within the instance, relying on other Lords and their soldier units seed a decent thod to collectively gather the ten thousand Admirers necessary for promoting to Tier 4.

However, he had already planned for this, deeming this route unappealing and needless of their competition over such population.

Compared to this, he was more eager to genuinely save more Low-level Lords.

Having been one of them in his past life, he knew their helplessness and fragility, and in this life, he hoped to save even more.

This was also in a way, a response to his own past prayers for salvation…

Jun Lin finally checked all the Spiritual Artifacts on him one last ti, then t eyes with Su Su.

“Let’s go!”

He started channeling his Spiritual Power, grabbed Su Su, and stepped into the void. They left through the wide-open window and used the Concealing Dharma thod, vanishing into thin air.

To avoid early detection, they flew low, utilizing the partly rejuvenated green forest for cover, and moved swiftly.

In just over ten minutes, they reached the location where Su Su had last conducted her reconnaissance.

Without needing further communication, understanding each other’s intentions, they almost simultaneously leapt into the air, eyes tightly locked in the direction where they had spotted the insect swarm, ready to use gravity to speedily fall back to the ground and escape in case they were discovered.

But when their gazes landed there, both were simultaneously stunned.

There was neither insect swarm nor the dark Fungus Blanket.

All they saw were lush forests indistinguishable from those under their feet, sparse weeds grazed by herbivorous mutant creatures on the ground, predators preparing to hunt, and even territory markers that were distinctly visible…

The number of mutant creatures was far greater than those around their own territory, as if the once elusive mutant creatures had migrated to the edge of the region to evade the Lords’ slaughter.

Su Su’s face was filled with disbelief, even forgetting to maintain her Concealing Technique.

Everything seed so normal, as if what she had seen last ti was just an illusion…

“What, what’s going on here? Last ti I clearly…

I definitely saw those insects, you, I…”

Su Su montarily panicked, afraid that her Lin would suspect her of lying, but Jun Lin knew that what Su Su had said last ti was true.

She couldn’t have described the appearance of the insect swarms in such detail if it was just nonsense.

But reality was right in front of them, what had happened during this ti?

“I believe you.”

Jun Lin took Su Su’s hand, their hands intertwined as he comforted her, various possibilities flashing through his mind, but ultimately dismissing each one.

No matter what, since the insect swarm does not exist and a new location with mutant creatures where points can be earned has been found, it’s ultimately a good thing.

As long as it’s ntioned during the eting, it would at least give the Lords a target.

Originally, one of the reasons for conflicts among the Lords was the scarcity of mutant creatures in the vicinity, and unlike him, they didn’t have the capability to perform long-distance reconnaissance to search for the whereabouts of mutant creatures.

Since the desired result has been achieved, he no longer intended to keep standing foolishly in the air and brought Su Su back to their territory.

As the eting ti drew near, Lin made so quick preparations and, accompanied by Su Su and the soldier type who had reached the Foundation Establishnt Stage with him through training in Immortal Cultivation Skill within the instance, he set out toward that dilapidated town.

With the aid of two individuals at the Golden Core Stage, along with several special techniques and Spiritual Artifacts, the group of cultivators at the Foundation Establishnt Stage traveled extrely fast. In the regions cleared by many Lords, there were no Mutant Creatures blocking the way.

In less than half an hour, Lin could already see his destination from afar—the broken town surrounded by various unit types.

Before they even got close, a robust man maintaining order approached, inquiring which Lord they represented.

Upon learning it was Lin, the man imdiately switched to a smile, courteously inviting Lin and his group in. Under the gaze of nurous Low-level Lords and soldiers, they moved into the heart of the town and finally stopped in a temporarily cleared open space.

He was not the earliest arrival; besides him, there were already two distinctly different groups present.

One group was entirely composed of at least Tier 3 Zombies, likely under the Corpse King.

The other group appeared much more professional, with shield-bearing warriors, knights riding Dragon Beasts, and Magicians in long robes. Their armor shone with the brilliance of Magic Power, exuding a more formidable presence than the adjacent Zombies!

If he wasn’t mistaken, that would be Landon I, whose na as a Great Magician Lin had heard of in his past life.

As a Lord from a realm practicing Magic Faction in his previous life, Landon I was quite well-known.

“Please leave your troops here and follow to the eting area. My leader along with the other three Lords has been waiting, and you’re invited to join a small preliminary eting. You may bring one Hero Unit with you.”

“Hmm, wait, you said, three Lords?”

Just as Lin was about to move forward with Su Su, he suddenly realized there was sothing off in the words. His eyes swept towards the two groups, his aning clear.

There were only two groups here, so from where did the three Lords co?

“Ah, haha…”

The guide laughed awkwardly, explaining,

“One of the Lords did not bring any unit type with them, you’ll understand once you go in.”

Lin looked at him skeptically, his eyes conveying a “Are you joking with ?” expression.

Even though he had managed to advance to Tier 4 in superpower earlier and reached Tier 4 in Immortal Cultivation as well, boasting various miraculous techniques, he still wouldn’t dare co here alone.

Even with Su Su, also a Tier 4, he didn’t dare to take the risk.

Was there really a Lord daring to attend the eting without any soldiers, not fearing it to be a trap just waiting to spring?

Flashes of nas from the Personal Combat Power Ranking and powerful Lords later exposed in his past life crossed Lin’s mind, yet he couldn’t guess who it might be.

“Let’s go and see then.”

Lin was increasingly curious about the true face of this audacious Lord.

But what he didn’t expect was that this “Lord” wasn’t even a “person”…

The so-called eting area wasn’t far from the clearing; just past a collapsed building ruin, a considerably smaller clearing appeared, along with several “people” sitting on chairs, waiting.

The chief seat was occupied by a fierce-looking robust man, undoubtedly the convener, Iron Blood.

By his side, seated were a man and a woman.

The man was actually Caucasian, dressed with a noble air, holding a Magic Wand as tall as a person even while seated, not letting go.

Lin recognized him, the Great Mage, Landon I, who was very famous and often seen in his past life.

Whereas the woman looked very young, probably around Lin’s age, with a powerful Zombie following behind her, which seed to be at Tier 5 according to the panel.

Although sowhat incredulous, this must be the Corpse King…

But even with a Tier 5 beside her, the Corpse King seed sowhat constrained, yet Lin understood when he looked towards the other side.

Sitting across from the man and woman, a ticulously grood man appeared, resembling those naturally imposing CEOs who sat in offices.

However, unlike the Corpse King and Landon, he was not sitting at the front but allowed a Tree-man to sit cross-legged in front, a seating arrangent usually indicating a difference in status.

aning, this Tree-man was the protagonist of this side, the Lord without any accompanying units ntioned previously by the guide.

But when Lin noticed the orange cat darting around the Tree-man’s canopy, he understood why soone would be bold enough to co to this eting with only one attendant.

That orange cat was already familiar to him from his past life, and he had witnessed many of its exploits.

Clearly, it was the strongest and most elusive Beast King from White Poplar Mountain — the Cat King!

Putting together all this information, a na naturally surfaced in his mind.

It was one of the Lords he had revered in his past life, a role model and idol in so respects, who had ascended to the top of the Territory Ranking just like the previous era – a powerful Lord!

“Fan Mao?!”
