Dragon King's Harem Chapter 395. Light It Up!

‘That holds my attack? How is that possible?’

I increased the pressure, focusing on the exact point where the serpent was trapped. The ground buckled and heaved, the cursed structure creaking and groaning as my power bore down on it.

For a mont, I hesitated. ‘Wait… If I push too hard, I’ll crush the serpent along with this prison.’

I narrowed my eyes, concentrating harder. I needed precision, not brute force. My claws dug deeper into the earth as I channeled the magic more carefully, directing the gravity to weaken the structure without collapsing it entirely. It was like walking a fine line between destruction and control.

The ground shuddered again, and I could hear a faint, muffled roar from beneath, the trapped serpent, still alive, still fighting to escape.

'Hold on,' I thought, gritting my teeth.

The ground began to give way, slowly at first, and then with a sudden, violent crack. The cursed structure splintered under the pressure, the earth around it crumbling as the twisted mana unraveled. The tremors intensified, but I held firm.

With one final, deafening crack, the ground collapsed, the prison breaking apart. The corrupted magic dissipated into the air. A massive hole opened up in front of , and I stepped back, watching as the dust and debris settled.

From the darkness of the pit, a low, rumbling roar echoed up. A mont later, the trapped Sky Serpent erged, its massive body slithering out from the depths of the earth. It was covered in dirt and gri, its scales dull and scratched, but it was alive. The serpent let out a weak, but triumphant roar as it pulled itself free from the cursed prison. It was a female.

I exhaled, my chest heaving from maintaining the Gravity skill. The ground around was still trembling slightly, but the worst of it had passed.

The fifth serpent, seeing its kin freed, let out a relieved roar, flapping its wings weakly as it approached the newly freed serpent. They nuzzled each other briefly.

Eir landed beside , his eyes wide with disbelief. “You did it,” he muttered, his voice filled with awe. “You actually freed it.”

I nodded, my gaze still fixed on the two serpents as they circled each other in the air. “Yeah, but this isn’t over. Whoever did this… they’re toying with sothing far beyond what they should be.”

Eir glanced around, scanning the horizon for any sign of the mastermind behind the cursed prison. “You think they’re still here?”

“They might be,” I growled, my eyes narrowing. “But one thing’s for sure, they’re playing with powers they don’t understand. And I’m going to find out why.”

Eir glanced at , his eyes reflecting the sa confusion and concern. Whoever set this up had knowledge, dangerous knowledge. The kind that could upset the delicate balance of power between the tribes. The Sky Serpent trap wasn’t just so random act. It was planned, intentional, and ant to target sothing or soone. But for what purpose? And who could pull sothing like this off?

The questions piled up in my head. The trap itself had been intricate, expertly crafted with corrupted mana. And the fact that it was enough to imprison a Sky Serpent, one of the more dangerous creatures of the skies, ant that whoever did this wasn’t just dabbling in magic. This was sothing darker, sothing planned.

Eir broke the silence. “Should we go back to the convoy?” His voice was steady, but I could hear the underlying concern. This place was dangerous so he wouldn’t let be here for too long.

I nodded, but I wasn’t quite ready to leave just yet. “Yes, but we’ll circle around for a bit. I want to see if there’s another structure like this nearby.”

He raised an eyebrow, but didn’t argue. Eir trusted my instincts, and I needed answers. I flapped my wings, lifting off the ground with ease, and my soldiers quickly followed. The newly freed Sky Serpent let out a low, rumbling growl as it regained its strength, but the fifth serpent stayed close to it, protectively hovering as we rose higher into the air.

My eyes stayed fixed on the hole below, the one where the trapped Sky Serpent had been imprisoned. The jagged edges of the ground, the remnants of the cursed structure, were still smoldering from my skill. A thought crossed my mind. What if there was sothing else down there, sothing I had missed?

Hovering in place, I glanced at Eir and the others. “Light it up,” I commanded.

Without hesitation, Eir and my soldiers obeyed. They opened their jaws, and streams of fire erupted from their mouths, filling the hole with intense flas. The air around us crackled with their fire. I watched closely, my eyes scanning every inch of the pit, waiting for sothing, anything, to reveal itself.

The fire licked the sides of the broken earth, casting eerie shadows along the edges. My muscles tensed as I waited, hoping for a clue, so indication of who was behind this, or what they were after. My eyes narrowed, studying the ground for any signs of movent, a hidden chamber, or even a trace of magic that I could latch onto.

But there was nothing.

The fire burned for a few more monts before Eir stopped, closing his mouth as the flas dissipated. The pit was still smoldering, the ground blackened and cracked, but there were no signs of anything unusual. No hidden symbols, no relics, nothing to indicate that this was part of a larger plan.

Whoever did this was good, too good. They had covered their tracks well, leaving nothing behind but the prison itself. But I knew this wasn’t the end of it. Whoever was responsible wouldn’t stop with just one trap.

I let out a low, irritated growl. “Let’s go,” I said, my voice firm.

Eir and the others nodded, and we began to fly again, circling the area once more before heading back toward the convoy. Yes, again we found nothing.

My mind raced. Could this have been a test? A way for soone to see how we’d respond? Or was it part of a larger, more sinister plot?
