Xia Wenjin: "..."

She didn’t want to say that today was the first day of the month, with a sky full of stars, where would the moon co from?

She glanced at Huangfu Jingchen, suppressed the emotion in her eyes, and showed a bright smile: "Then you continue, I’ll go to sleep first!"

After she entered and closed the window, Huangfu Jingchen silently put the window down.

Sichen! Her friend?

They seem very familiar!

Only now did he realize that he actually knew nothing about her. How can he understand her better?

What could make her willing to let him understand her more?

He felt sothing stuck in his chest, unable to rise or fall, heavy and dull!

Was he wrong?

The world is not lacking in people like Long Yang, but in their hearts, it might be more about playing around, easy co easy go, and as long as one looks handso, anyone is fine.

Perhaps no one would be like him, genuinely wanting to be with that person, and apart from that person, it couldn’t be anyone else, no one could replace them.

Is that a startling notion?

Even royal father and mother may not accept it!

But he still decided!

Still holding onto a glimr of hope.

He’s not about entangling or going against Xia Wenjin’s wishes.

Just having a thought in his mind, always remaining there, unable to forget.

He couldn’t understand why the desire to be with Xia Wenjin now was so strong, knowing she was a man!

What exactly was wrong with him?

He was also struggling, reflecting on himself, wondering if he was too unreasonable, too stubborn, too inexplicable?

Struggling, suffering, confused, pondering, self-reproach...

In choosing between continuing and retreating, he decided, if during this journey to Liangzhou, Xia Wenjin still firmly refused to accept, then he would give up!

If love, shouldn’t it make her happier?

Early the next morning, Huangfu Jingchen got up early, and upon leaving the room, found that Xia Wenjin was already ready.

Xia Wenjin didn’t ntion a word about last night’s events, including Sichen’s identity, and Huangfu Jingchen didn’t ask. He didn’t even ask about the way, as long as Xia Wenjin was willing to let him accompany her, he was satisfied.

Xia Wenjin looked at the blue circles under his eyes; it wasn’t from being punched by Xia Sichen, it was clearly from a lack of sleep.

She said, "Thank you for last night!"

Huangfu Jingchen paused for a mont, then said, "I didn’t know that was your friend!"

"He’s just a rascal, a madman! You don’t need to worry about it!" Xia Wenjin said disdainfully, but the corners of her mouth lifted up, clearly pleased.

Thinking of the lousy ideas he ca up with last night, even Xia Wenjin, who had been through so much, felt extrely embarrassed. How could there be a brother like that?

Huangfu Jingchen watched her lips curve slightly, while her face showed so shyness, feeling a bit bitter and stuffed inside.

If Wenjin isn’t a Long Yang, why did she say she was?

If she were Long Yang, there must be a man she likes. Could that man be the one making her show a shy expression?

When will Xia Wenjin ntion him to others with such expressions, does it an that he too exists in her heart?

Unaware of his thoughts, Xia Wenjin pulls her mind away from last night’s speechlessness and asks, "He was heavy-handed, you weren’t injured, were you?"

Huangfu Jingchen shook his head. That Sichen’s martial arts were not weak, but neither was he. Throughout the process he worried about Xia Wenjin, otherwise against such opponents, he really would have fought heartily.

But hearing the intimacy in Xia Wenjin’s tone, his heart had a blunt ache, if he were hurt, would Xia Wenjin feel heartbroken for him?

Xia Wenjin said, "Since you’re not hurt, let’s hit the road!"

Huangfu Jingchen silently nodded; clearly, he had overthought it, Wenjin was simply being polite, casually expressing concern, why did he harbor so much expectation?

With only one horse, Xia Wenjin checked out of the room, took the reins from the waiter, and turned to Huangfu Jingchen: "Will you ride or should I?"

Huangfu Jingchen said, "You ride!"

The horse, having been fed at the inn for over twenty days, was fat and strong. Xia Wenjin pondered for a mont, "Why not sell it! This shiny coat, it should fetch so silver!"

Huangfu Jingchen said, "Why sell it? You can ride it so you won’t have to exhaust yourself traveling!"

Xia Wenjin’s smile curled her eyes: "If you can walk, why ride a horse?"

Huangfu Jingchen knew she was once again succumbing to her miserly thoughts, wanting to save so silver.

Sotis, he is perplexed by her actions, not understanding her motives. She is usually very frugal, saving wherever she can, never spending a di unnecessarily. Yet, when he was injured, the dicine she bought were extrely expensive, incredibly rare, costing a significant amount of silver to purchase.

She can sotis be stingy to the point of speechlessness, yet at tis, she can spend abundantly without batting an eyelid.

In the end, under Huangfu Jingchen’s insistence, the horse wasn’t sold.

Or rather, it wasn’t sold, but sold to Huangfu Jingchen.

Huangfu Jingchen felt fortunate, that he later t up with Yan Nan Jiang Ning and the others, otherwise, being penniless, he really couldn’t afford the horse.

Having sold the fat and strong horse for two hundred silver taels, Xia Wenjin was absolutely delighted, holding the silver note, staring at Huangfu Jingchen with twinkling eyes.

God of Wealth indeed!

This isn’t so celestial horse, she held up two fingers, aning twenty taels, but Huang Zheng went ahead and gave her two hundred taels.

That was entirely his willingness, she is by no ans a shrewd businesswoman!

After leaving the market, Huangfu Jingchen offered for Xia Wenjin to ride.

Xia Wenjin felt a bit embarrassed, saying, "It’s your horse!"

Huangfu Jingchen replied, "I just recovered, want to stretch my muscles!"

Upon hearing this, Xia Wenjin imdiately laughed, "In that case, since the horse would be idle, let help you walk the horse!"

Huangfu Jingchen saw her smiling brightly, her brows delightfully arched, and his lips slightly curved, saying "Thank you!"

"Oh, no need to thank , we’re family!" Xia Wenjin casually patted his shoulder!

She was half a head shorter than Huangfu Jingchen, making the shoulder-patting gesture look rather odd, but Huangfu Jingchen discreetly lowered his shoulder to allow her to easily pat.

Feeling satisfied, Xia Wenjin mounted the horse.

Huangfu Jingchen walked behind her.

Along the way, Huangfu Jingchen tried to find chances to talk to Xia Wenjin, but her interest seed entirely in riding the horse, forcing Huangfu Jingchen to use Qinggong multiple tis to avoid being left behind.

Huangfu Jingchen started to doubt, was it wrong to keep this horse?

Obviously, they could have walked side by side, it seems he made a foolish decision.

Nevertheless, he didn’t want to tire her out, even if it ant using Qinggong himself, at least she didn’t have to walk.

But as they walked, Huangfu Jingchen began to feel sothing was amiss.

It seed more and more off track, drifting farther from the main road.
