What’s going on? It’s not a red rash, it’s a black spot?
Xia Wenjin’s heart skipped a beat. She couldn’t help but take two steps forward, pointing to the black spot, and exclaid, "When did this appear?" Her hand couldn’t resist touching it.
A voice suddenly said, "What do you want to see?"
Soone walked over quickly from the road, standing tall and handso, with no expression on his face. He looked at Xia Wenjin with deeply dark eyes, unsure whether he was angry or questioning.
"It’s Young Master Huang!" Zhuzi greeted and smiled at Xia Wenjin, "Oh, this, I’ve had it since I was in my mother’s womb. The midwife said it ans ’ambitious’!"
So it was a mole. Xia Wenjin realized she had been too nervous and made a fool of herself; she embarrassedly laughed, "Then it’s nothing, you can put your clothes back on."
She turned to Huangfu Jingchen and asked, "Why are you here?"
Huangfu Jingchen replied in a muffled voice, "I’m just bored and decided to walk around!"
Zhuzi put his clothes back on and said honestly, "How about the two of you co in and sit down?"
Xia Wenjin replied, "No need, we’re leaving." It was good news that neither Zhuzi nor his mother had red spots, but there were matters she needed to discuss with Huang Zheng.
Xia Wenjin grabbed the horse, and Huangfu Jingchen took the reins from her hand.
She didn’t stop him, allowing Huangfu Jingchen to lead the horse away.
Neither of them mounted the horse; they walked forward, not speaking to each other.
Xia Wenjin was contemplating the issue, while Huangfu Jingchen had other matters on his mind.
After walking for a while, they were far from Zhuzi’s house. The sky had darkened, and the villagers had returned to their hos. The countryside road was serene and peaceful, filled only with the sounds of insects and birds.
Huangfu Jingchen let go of the reins, turned to look at Xia Wenjin, and asked in a muffled voice, "Is it nice to look at?"
Lost in her thoughts, Xia Wenjin raised her head in confusion and said, "Ah?"
Huangfu Jingchen’s cool eyes stared at her, deep as the sea, as if they wanted to draw her in and drown her. When Xia Wenjin’s gaze t his, she felt a bit dazed.
Huangfu Jingchen stepped closer and asked again, "Why didn’t you tell you wanted to see? Would I not let you?"
Xia Wenjin was baffled, feeling the oppressive force from Huangfu Jingchen, and involuntarily took a step back.
As she retreated, Huangfu Jingchen advanced, leaving her no choice but to continue backing up.
After taking two steps back, she could retreat no further, her back already pressed against a tree.
The countryside roads were lined with trees that grew wildly and vigorously.
Xia Wenjin asked, "What’s wrong with you?"
Huangfu Jingchen’s eyes grew even darker, filled with an unknown mixture of anger, resentnt, or hurt. He approached her, his face gradually getting closer, carrying a heavy breath and an imposing aura. The night, originally hot and stuffy, gained a hint of coolness from his chill.
He muttered, "What’s so great about him? If you want to see, I can let you see!"
It was then that Xia Wenjin’s confused mind finally grasped the main point. She exclaid, amused and annoyed, "Fine, sure, show then!"
To her surprise, Huangfu Jingchen actually began unbuttoning his shirt.
Xia Wenjin didn’t stop him and allowed him to proceed.
Huangfu Jingchen really did undo his shirt, revealing his chest, glowing like jade under the moonlight. Even in this light, the scars on his body were still visible.
Xia Wenjin glanced at his chest and then looked up, half-smiling, "Alright, I’ve seen it!"
Huangfu Jingchen said in a muffled voice, "But you touched him!"
Xia Wenjin couldn’t help but laugh, "Brother, he’s a man just like you. So what if I touched him once?"
Huangfu Jingchen: "..."
It seems that’s true.
"Why did you touch him?" Like a sulky child, Huangfu Jingchen had seen from afar how close Xia Wenjin was to Zhuzi. Zhuzi had taken off his shirt, and Xia Wenjin had reached out to touch it. Although he later found out she was touching a mole, his heart was still deeply uncomfortable.
This discomfort had him bottled up with anger, almost uncontrollable.
For days, Wenjin had been very distant from him. Though she occasionally joked, he could tell she was keeping a distance on purpose.
Was it because of his confession, creating pressure for Wenjin?
Given Wenjin’s inclination towards Long Yang, it was natural for her to like n. Despite their close relationship, Wenjin avoided him, yet she let Zhuzi undress in front of her after just two etings?
Every ti Huangfu Jingchen thought about this, he was overwheld with jealousy.
He knew it was childish, but so feelings were impossible to control.
If she wanted to see, to touch, he was right here, willing to oblige. So why was her attention on another man?
Was he pressuring her, ultimately pushing her away?
Xia Wenjin said speechlessly, "When you were injured, I touched every part of your body!"
Huangfu Jingchen paused; that seed to be true! Then he happily said, "Do you an Zhuzi is sick?"
Xia Wenjin pointed a finger at his chest and said, "Can you step back a bit? My back is hurting!" It was the tree trunk; he had cornered her so much that he was almost pressing against her.
Huangfu Jingchen stepped back, still watching her intently.
Feeling helpless, Xia Wenjin said, "Today, at Doctor Zhang’s clinic, I discovered sothing. Huang Zheng, I’m not yet sure if my discovery is the problem, so I can’t spread it around yet."
"Tell , I’ll listen. I won’t spread it!" Upon hearing her get down to business, Huangfu Jingchen imdiately took on a serious deanor.
Xia Wenjin moved away from the tree, changed to a more comfortable position, but her expression was hesitant. She asked, "Huang Zheng, you said that every year the mountain has miasma, and many people get miasma poisoning each year, but they just get very sick and then get better. Is that normal?"
Huangfu Jingchen thought for a mont before saying, "Every place has its unique geographical conditions, thus forming various distinct environntal factors. Here, every sumr, due to the rain, the miasma from the mountains invades. Over ti, they’ve gotten used to it, which ans it’s quite normal. The miasma is ford by natural causes, the force of nature, beyond human control. Wenjin, do you think sothing’s wrong?"
Xia Wenjin replied, "But today at Doctor Zhang’s, I saw so people fell ill before the heavy rain. So, it can’t be simply attributed to the miasma!"
Huangfu Jingchen asked, "What’s the difference between before and after the rain?"
Xia Wenjin explained, "According to the villagers’ experience, the miasma doesn’t attack except after the rain. So, could the ones before the rain be sothing else? All the patients Doctor Zhang treated today had similar symptoms. Doctor Zhang said they were the sa, but I know they were different. So patients developed a red rash on their chests."
"A red rash? On the chest?" Huangfu Jingchen blurted out, "The legendary lupus erythematosus?"
