After the servants worked day and night to clean up, most of the burnt-out structures had been cleared away. But the fire had been so imnse that there was only so much they could do. All in all, a good part of the courtyard was ruined.
Rebuilding would require a trendous amount of manpower and money.
Ye Heng did not report for duty today.
He had encountered too much trouble recently and didn’t want to go to the Ministry of Justice just to suffer everyone’s disdain. So, he simply requested another leave of absence.
Furthermore, with Ye Mingze still in a coma, he was overco with anxiety. His mind was consud with how to save his son—how could he possibly tend to anything else?
Inside the room, Ye Heng stood by the bed, looking at the motionless Ye Mingze. He couldn’t help but ask, "Still no sign of Mingze waking up today?"
Ye Shixian shook her head, her brow furrowed.
"Father, maybe we should ask another Imperial Physician to take a look?"
’She’d always felt that Doctor Zhang just wasn’t up to the task.’
Ye Heng was also extrely vexed. "That’s easy for you to say. Those old stubborn fools at the Imperial Hospital—do you think they’re so easy to persuade?"
His official rank wasn’t high, and with all the trouble he’d been in lately, most people were avoiding him like the plague. Who would be willing to help him at a ti like this?
"But just waiting around isn’t a solution..." Although Ye Shixian often looked down on her good-for-nothing, incompetent younger brother, they were still born of the sa mother. If Ye Mingze remained in a coma, who knew what the rumors would be... Her own reputation might get dragged into it as well.
"I even brought in two renowned physicians from the capital yesterday, and they couldn’t co up with anything either. But Mingze’s condition can’t be delayed any further."
Ye Heng knew this all too well.
"But where else can we find a capable physician?"
Suddenly, an idea struck Ye Shixian.
"What if... we ask Ye Chutang?"
Ye Heng thought he’d misheard. "Who did you say?"
"Ye Chutang!" The more Ye Shixian thought about it, the more feasible it seed. "Doesn’t she always claim to have exceptional dical skills? The Heir of Duke Dingbei and the Eldest Princess were both treated by her. Since her skills are so magnificent, Mingze’s condition should be a piece of cake for her!"
"How could that possibly work!" Ye Heng let out a laugh of exasperation. "We’d be lucky if she didn’t try to harm Mingze, and you want to ask her to save him!?"
’They had already parted ways and completely torn all ties. To go and ask Ye Chutang for help now... wouldn’t that be the biggest joke in the world!?’
But Ye Shixian seed to have made up her mind and patiently coaxed, "Father, you’re mistaken. Mingze is her cousin, after all. If she refuses to help, she won’t be able to justify it. And if she does try but fails to save him, it will only prove that her reputation is all for show, won’t it?"
’In short, as long as they went to ask, Ye Chutang would be put on the spot—trapped in a no-win situation.’
Ye Heng’s expression flickered as he listened, but he was still torn.
Just then, the butler rushed in.
"Master! Master! The... the other branch of the Ye... they’ve sent people again!"
Ye Heng frowned. "Who? Ye Chutang?"
The butler swallowed. "No! It’s... it’s Ye Jingyan and Ye Yunfeng!"
Ye Heng hadn’t expected the two brothers to co. His brows furrowed as he asked coldly, "What are they here for?"

"Make them wait! Tell them I’m handling sothing important. Have them wait for at least an hour!"
The butler wore an awkward expression.
"Master, I... I don’t think that would be wise... Ye Jingyan said... he said that he has co on a matter of great importance to discuss with you."
Ye Heng wanted to laugh. "A re greenhorn thinks he can get an audience with just by asking?"
The butler hesitated before speaking. "Master, it seems he’s here... about relocating the grave."
Ye Heng stiffened.
