"Damn it." Damon hissed, and then using his sword, smacked Rose’s incandescent form flying through the air. Unfortunately for him, he sent Rose flying in the direction his main body was. Rose flipped mid air, landed on her feet, then rocketed towards him with her feet ablaze.

Even with her imnse speed, Damon was able to react. A sword with a blade as clear as a mirror appeared in his hand.

Bang!

Her faming fist t the flat side of the sword. A shockwave that knocked the air out of Damon’s lungs and sent him flying erupted from the point of contact.

Damon only managed to stop himself from skidding on the ground a few inches from the wall of the stands.

Even though,. "Kugh!"

He coughed up a mouthful of blood, the shockwave from the attack managed to bypass his hastily put up defense and directly hit him. Damon stepped back a bit, but the mont he dropped his sword to his side another incandescent fist entered his field of view.

However, before her fist could hit him, Damon’s reflection appeared behind his fla shrouded twin, and connected a brutal kick to the side of her head.

Bang!

Rose’s entire body tilted to the side, for a brief mont, she stilled, as if in suspended animation, before her body shot violently to the side.

’Fuck!’

If his reflection had been even a second late, his head would be gone by now.

anwhile Rose had stopped her head from planting into the ground. But even though, her head still rang from that last kick.

Rose raised her hand, and a summoned a fire lance in front of him. The fire lance floated in front of her, and then she took a step back.

At the speeds Damon could move.... It would be hard to hit him with only a single projectile. So she ca up with a solution. Ten more fla lances materialized in front of her.

Rose took a step back, then kicked one of the the fla lances in front of her towards the two Damons with full force. The fla lance had barely made it a ter away from her when she kicked all the others, in quick succession.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

There was not a single fla lance that didn’t break the sound barrier. Faced with each fla lance advancing towards him at absurd speeds, Damon was left with no other option than to use an area of effect attack.

"Fall." He raised his sword and swung towards the incoming fla lances with overwhelming might. A massive shockwave spread in the direction Damon swung his sword. The ground beneath his feet cracked and sank.

The collision of the shockwave with the fla lances, sent a heatwave that spread through the field. But it wasn’t like it was felt, due to the fact that the temperature of the field was already over a thousand degrees. What the heatwave did however was stir up a cloud of debris.

However Damon soon felt sothing that was wrong. His guess was spot on, because the next mont, the air detonated multiple tis, clearing away the debris, but revealing the multiple lances coming his way.

Though shocked, both Damons were already on guard, and swiftly maneuvered himself to dodge the projectiles, although so grazed his main body, he ca out particularly unscathed.

"Getting tired, are we sister?" Damon smirked, when he noticed the Rose’s fla output had gotten lower. It only ant one thing, she was running out of aether. Which ant another thing, she would try to end the fight as quickly as possible, aning she was about to go ballistic.

"You talk too much." Rose’s fla shrouded figure let out in a raspy tone.

Damon’s s figure disappeared, and he appeared right in front of Rose. Rose realized this was the sa move Damon had used when they had first fought, and like predicted, Damon appeared right in front of her.

Rose lowered her back as much as she could, forming a sort of bridge to dodge Damon’s attack.

Damon imdiately tried to lower his sword, But Rose inputted her sword back in her spatial storage and used her hands to support herself. She delivered a scalding kick to Damon’s chin and got up.

Even though aether reinforcent operated at the maximum, Damon still felt the full force of that kick. His body shot upwards from the impact. Rose bent her legs, jumping after him. She soon reached him, and even went higher than him.

While still mid air, Rose decided to gamble. Most of the flas shrouding her body moved and began compressing in her palm. Rose was going to recreate that bead that nuked half the stage at the beginning of their fight. It was going to reduce her aether to under five percent, but she was willing to take the risk. In less than a second, a shiny red bead that swallowed the light in the surroundings took form.

–"What?! Is she going to recreate that attack from earlier?!"

–"This is crazy, I tell you, or maybe she’s the one who’s crazy."

–"Would he be able to escape it this ti?"

"Like hell I’m going to let you do that!" Damon yelled facing Rose’s outstretched hand that possessed the sa red bead from before. Bringing his sword to his front. "Blooming spr...." His voice however was cut off mid speech.

Rose suddenly shifted away her outstretched hand from him and aid it straight at his main body on the ground.

BOOOM!

The red bead shattered the sound barrier, and appeared before Damon in an instant. He couldn’t move, he could only stare at it unblinkingly. Hell it appeared faster than Damon could blink.

BOOOOOOOOOM!

The mont the beast ca in contact with Damon, a mushroom cloud erupted from the point it exploded, the impact so strong it blasted Rose upwards straight towards the translucent barrier. Though, it was quite noticeable that the explosion was orders of magnitude weaker than the very first one Rose had created.

But there was another thing that Rose didn’t notice. She wasn’t the only one who got blasted back, there was a Damon with her, albeit one whose face was lted almost beyond recognition. Only sparse patches of hair still existed on his burnt scalp. His eyebrows and eyelashes were also non-existent.

But if there was one thing that was still very recognizable, it was the striking grey eyes that had grown orders of magnitude colder. However, beneath that cold gaze, was a boiling rage. If he had been a millisecond late, he would have been burned to nothingness. Well, he wouldn’t have died since instructor Lee would have arrived to save him, but without that, he would have died.

Also, if the instructor intervened, Damon would have lost nonetheless. And that was arguably worse than dying. Rose would rub it all over his face till the end of ti and for all eternity.

So, while he was boiling with rage, it wasn’t directed at Rose, but at himself. It was his fault for not putting into account that Rose would be smart enough to play a feint and suddenly switch to attack his actual body. It seed he had started to forget how smart she actually was after pulling one over her one too many tis.

Bang!

Rose’s back slamd against the barrier so hard that she coughed up a mouthful blood. Such was the case for Damon, but his case was actually worse bringing into account the injuries he already had.

As both fell back towards the ground, Rose finally took notice of Damon. Her eyes widened in disbelief. In her head she had already thought that instructor Lee was inside that purgatory shielding Damon, and that she would soon be announced as the winner when everything cald down.

Rose’s disbelief soon turned to resolve. Her eyes narrowed. She suddenly shifted her falling trajectory to Damon, and engaged him even as they fell.

Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!

They exchanged a couple of punches and kicks until they both eventually crashed hard onto the ground. Both laid on the ground immobile for quite a few seconds. It wasn’t that they didn’t want to get up imdiately, it was that they couldn’t.

Their bodies were simply too wrecked, especially Damon, whose left hand was twisted in the wrong angle. The worse part, was that it was against the rules to take healing potions mid battle. If healing potions could be taken, so fights would literally never end. Even though, Damon still had a wide grin on his face as he tried to push himself up with his good arm.

"Just stay down already." Rose who was also trying to push herself up said with gritted teeth.

Damon stared at her for a mont, before bursting out in a fit of laughter.

"Hahahahahaha!"
