"What’s up with you? What’s the good news?"

Seeing Liu Banxia grinning from ear to ear, Wang Chao asked curiously.

"Nothing, really, what’s there to celebrate." Liu Banxia replied with a smile.

"Oh, well, I guess it’s kind of good news. The patient I treated last night, their blood pressure has co up, and there’s a good coagulation effect too. Once the operating room is free, we’ll close their abdon."

"Sothing’s off; you must have other good news, or you wouldn’t be acting like this." Wang Chao said suspiciously.

"What are you imagining? How could there be so much good news? I’m out of cash, can’t invite you out." Liu Banxia said seriously.

"I don’t believe you at all, your mood is definitely different from this morning. If you won’t tell , I’ll find out myself." Wang Chao said.

The little ones noticed Liu Banxia’s "weird behavior," and as the gossip king of the ergency center, Wang Chao had a knack for sensing these things.

Of course, there was sothing good, but he wasn’t planning on sharing it with Wang Chao. It was his little secret, and it mustn’t be known to others.

"Su Wenhao, get ready to admit, they’re bringing in a patient who fainted after exercise and experienced cardiac arrest." Qi Wentai shouted.

"Okay, Teacher Qi." Su Wenhao responded.

"Director Liu, do you think there’s a chance?" Wang Chao asked.

"It’s hard to say, depends on luck. But, hopes aren’t high." Liu Banxia said.

"Let’s find so ti later to gather everyone and review the patient case I handled last night. It has significant learning value."

"Alright, I don’t have much going on right now anyway." Wang Chao nodded.

After waiting a bit, an ambulance stopped at the hall entrance, and the paradics wheeled the patient out of the vehicle.

"Patient is 21 years old, fainted after playing soccer. Experienced cardiac arrest on-site, CPR was successful. On the ambulance, oxygen and fluids were administered, but the patient is unconscious." The paradic reported.

Su Wenhao first opened the patient’s eyelids with a penlight, examining the dilated pupils.

"Have you contacted their family?" Su Wenhao asked the person who accompanied the patient.

"We’ve already contacted them; they’re on their way to the hospital. Doctor, why aren’t you saving him?" The patient’s classmate anxiously asked.

"Zhang Pengfei, take him to Rescue Room One, and put him on a ventilator." Su Wenhao instructed, then turned to the accompanying person.

"Please help contact a direct family mber, soone who can make decisions. There are so situations I need to explain to them directly, others can’t decide for him."

The classmate hesitated for a mont but then took out their phone and made the call.

The others who ca along were starting to get a bad feeling.

"Doctor, I’ve reached out, it’s Wang Bin’s father." The classmate said after the call connected.

"Hello, I’m Su Wenhao, the admitting doctor at the Second Affiliated Hospital’s ergency center." Su Wenhao said, taking the phone.

"Doctor, how’s Binbin?" The patient’s father asked.

"The situation isn’t good. We’ve just admitted him and found that his pupils have dilated. It’s possibly sudden death, although there’s still so breathing; further examination is needed." Su Wenhao said.

"Doctor, what does this an?" The father asked, getting anxious.

"It ans from our preliminary assessnt, he has brain death. We can maintain vital signs with a ventilator." Su Wenhao said.

"No, you must save Binbin." The father shouted.

Su Wenhao paused briefly, "Okay, but we might need to send him to ICU. Please co to the hospital quickly; it’s hard to explain everything over the phone."

"Doctor, please, save Binbin. We’ll pay whatever it takes, just save him." A woman’s voice ca through on the other end.

"Alright, we will try our best." Su Wenhao replied.

After that, Su Wenhao headed into the ergency room.

"Sigh... Looks like it’s hopeless. Director Liu, aren’t you being a bit harsh? In such cases, isn’t it your job as their ntor to step in?" Wang Chao comnted.

"Everyone has to experience it soti. President Qi’s assessnt is pretty spot on." Liu Banxia said.

"You guys have no hearts. If it were up to , I wouldn’t let them go through this so early," Wang Chao grumbled.

"This isn’t about willingness or not," Liu Banxia sighed. "What we do at the ergency center is this kind of work. Not every patient that cos in can be saved."

"This actually reflects a certain problem to so extent. The dissemination of first aid knowledge is still too poor. Maybe we should think about doing so outreach at various universities."

"Cardiac arrest is terrifying mainly because the window for rescue is too short. Once those few minutes pass, even if we manage to resuscitate the patient, this current state is the result."

"Considering the current ergency conditions, within those few minutes, from calling 911 to the arrival of the ambulance, if no one performs CPR nearby, there’s likely no chance."

"The golden four minutes—it’s no joke. As long as so action is taken within these four minutes, even if it’s just barely maintaining blood supply to the brain, the results will be drastically different."

"It’s not that simple, though, right? CPR has many technical points. In today’s social climate, if the thod is wrong and you break the sternum, you might end up in a lawsuit," Wang Chao said.

"You’re the one organizing it, so you’d also bear so responsibility. It’s like lighting a fuse and not caring where the explosion goes. You’d better think this through; it’s not so easy to arrange."

"It’s different from the things we organized before. Those were dical knowledge promotions. This is directly about saving lives, with much greater risk."

Liu Banxia chuckled and patted Wang Chao’s shoulder, "I know you’re concerned about , but so things just have to be done. Help think it over and see how we can proceed."

"The director is back, so I’ll report to him first. Call if you need ; otherwise, I’ll have a chat with the director."

Wang Chao looked at him helplessly; it seed that Liu Banxia was truly overreaching today. There were still tons of issues in the hospital to deal with, yet he was thinking about outside matters.

"What’s up? Is there sothing?"

Seeing him approach, Zhou Shuwen asked.

"A minor issue, haven’t eaten yet, have you? Should I get them to bring so food?" Liu Banxia asked.

"Sure, sothing light," Zhou Shuwen replied.

Liu Banxia quickly called Zhou Qiang to arrange the al.

"So, what’s the matter?" Zhou Shuwen stretched his neck, feeling sowhat tired.

"We just had an ergency patient who collapsed with cardiac arrest. Although he was resuscitated on site, the delay was probably too long, and his current condition is bad," Liu Banxia said.

"Looks like he’s a college student, so I’m thinking of organizing a small event to bring so basic first aid knowledge into university campuses."

"University campuses are areas with concentrated sports activities, basketball, volleyball, football, badminton, and so on, which are really physically demanding sotis."

"Campuses are quite large, and even if they call 911 and contact the school doctor imdiately upon noticing sothing wrong, it might still be challenging to get to the scene quickly."

Zhou Shuwen nodded, "That’s indeed a good idea, but do we have the manpower to conduct this event? There are quite a few higher education institutions in Binhai City."

"We’ll take it slow. Now that Xu Yino and the others can operate independently, along with those interns and resident physicians, I think they’re up for the task," Liu Banxia said.

"But patience is required for this work. It’s not enough to just give a one-ti lecture. We have to teach them hands-on, and then let these people gradually spread the teaching."

"I think we can select representatives from the student unions of each university and have them intern at our ergency center for better results."

"Anyway, I just feel that it might improve so of the rescue chances. The golden four minutes are too precious. Even delaying one second feels extravagant."

"Cardiac arrest constitutes a high proportion of sudden death patients. If people around know CPR, there might still be so hope for survival."

"For today’s patient, it’s agony for the whole family. I saw Su Wenhao communicating directly with the family, likely because the pupils are already dilated and brain death has occurred."

"For parents, it’s unimaginable to harden their hearts and unplug their child. But leaving it plugged in, even with money, can financially ruin the family, not to ntion the ntal tornt."

"I told Qiaoqiao during casual chats, if I’m ever sick, don’t abandon , make sure to treat . But if it’s brain death, then don’t torture , let go in peace."

"Perhaps it’s because I’ve seen too much in the hospital; for both family and patients, I feel it’s a form of tornt. It’s just random thoughts, thinking a bit too much."

Zhou Shuwen nodded, "Alright, give this proper consideration, and co up with a plan. No need to report for approval from the hospital. Just CC them, so they’re aware this event exists."

"Okay, then I’ll discuss it more with Wang Chao. Additionally, I’m planning to conduct a joint debrident assessnt for this year’s surgical interns and resident physicians," Liu Banxia said.

"The location will be our ergency center, with Xu Yino and others proctoring. The scoring range will be broad and detailed to see how they perform."

Zhou Shuwen chuckled, "That’s great. Nice to see such enthusiasm. But these youngsters will surely grumble about you behind your back."

"Haha, I’m not worried about that. The food has arrived; please eat first," Liu Banxia took the al personally delivered by Zhou Qiang and then left with him.

Zhou Shuwen shook his head, deciding to let him do what he wanted, and focused on eating first, as he was genuinely hungry.
