We passed the night peacefully, with the majority of patients still requiring wound debrident and treatnt for alcohol intoxication. For our ergency center, this has beco the norm.

Instead of joining the ward rounds, Liu Banxia joined Zhou Li and the other nurses, hopping from room to room to put up window decorations.

Even for those who are sick and hospitalized, so New Year’s atmosphere is needed.

Being ill is enough of a heartache, and now they couldn’t go ho for the New Year. The lack of any New Year’s atmosphere would be quite disheartening.

A special little group ford here too.

At first, it was the nurses putting up the decorations. Then, the patients’ family mbers also actively joined in.

Further decorations included Chinese knots hung in the hallway, accompanied by large and small red lanterns.

With these adornnts, the entire ergency center instantly took on a rich New Year’s vibe. Though rely simple decorations, they greatly uplifted the spirits of the patients and their families.

Otherwise, the cold tones of the hospital constantly reminded them: you are a patient, you are suffering, you are hospitalized.

This is also why many people recover better at ho; in the hospital, recovery can be slower. A different mood truly has a significant impact.

After finishing with the other departnts, Liu Banxia, carrying a large bag, arrived at the pediatric ward.

There was still a group of little ones here. They might not have strong feelings about the festivities, but their parents certainly could appreciate it.

The small gifts were simple little dolls, inexpensive, and even cheaper when purchased in bulk. Even Xu Yino and her group tucked one into their white coat pockets, clearly an instance of using public resources for private gain and taking more than their share.

After checking on the child who had just undergone a full abdominal organ transplant and moved to the general ward, Liu Banxia said, "The little guy is recovering well, but due to the magnitude of the surgery, he still needs to stay in the hospital for further observation."

"Doctor, we’re truly sorry for all the trouble," the child’s mother said.

"It’s no trouble at all; this period is crucial. We also need to help keep the child in good spirits. He’s overco such a major illness, he should enjoy life from now on," Liu Banxia replied with a smile.

The mother nodded, wiping away a tear.

For so many days, even after the surgery was confird successful, she had lived in agony. Now that her child was back in the general ward and she could stay by his side, she finally felt so relief.

Just as the doctor said, he’s overco such a major illness. Future recovery and such, nothing should be too difficult to handle.

He then checked on the other children. The little ones were truly carefree, ecstatic upon seeing the small dolls. Of course, there were also tiny tots who didn’t understand anything, at most lying in their hospital beds cooing at you.

"Sigh, a round in the pediatric ward, and I feel like all my hair is standing on end," Xu Yino said with a grimace as she ca out.

"What’s there to be afraid of? You have to experience all sorts of things. To be a qualified surgeon, you need a strong heart," Liu Banxia said.

Xu Yino pursed her lips. Easy for you to say! Even if you’re so ’Great Demon King,’ you wouldn’t dare cover shifts in pediatrics all day, would you? And now you’re just dumping it on us.

But even if she thought this, at most, she would make small gestures behind Liu Banxia’s back, like shaking her little fist.

Can’t always endure the ’Great Demon King’s’ pressure; so silent resistance is necessary.

"Done with your rounds? The last batch of patients will be discharged tomorrow. The rest will have to stay through the New Year," Shi Lei said.

"I just hope there are no major accidents during these New Year days; there’s a lot more traffic on the roads. The weather seems to be turning worse too; I wonder if it will snow. By the way, any personal thoughts?" Liu Banxia asked.

"What thoughts?" Shi Lei asked curiously.

"What kind of wife are you looking for? Our ntor’s wife is working on it, and so is Qiaoqiao," Liu Banxia said with an utterly serious expression.

"Next ti you have a day off, have Qiaoqiao take you to a barbershop for a makeover. Get a good cleanup. While you’re at it, buy a couple of nice outfits for blind dates. Don’t always look so sloppy."

"Oh, buzz off," Shi Lei glared at him.

"Don’t think I’m joking; I’m completely serious. This is a ’political task’ assigned by our ntor, and it must be completed within this year," Liu Banxia said nonchalantly.

Shi Lei was troubled. Actually, I do want a girlfriend, but my current circumstances are a bit lacking. Girls in the city have high standards! Is owning an apartnt enough? There are other things too.

"Forget it, you probably don’t have a clear idea yourself. Let Qiaoqiao handle it," Liu Banxia said, waving his hand dismissively.

"President Liu, President Liu, could Qiaoqiao help find soone too?" Wang Chao chid in, sidling over.

"You? You have your mother worrying about that for you. Unlike our friend here, who’s becoming quite the ’chronically single’ challenge. If we delay any longer with him, it’ll be really tough," Liu Banxia shook his head.

"Around the first day of the New Year, we’ll likely perform the replantation surgery for the patient whose limb is being temporarily kept ectopically. Who’s interested? Two spots available. You can sign up or we can draw lots."

"Hehe, definitely drawing lots then," Xu Yino said with a grin.

This surgery was a must-observe; limb replantation involves many key points. Watching one live is far more beneficial than just reading about it in books.

"Teacher Liu, two patients are coming in. One is a young man who was assaulted; preliminary diagnosis is a left orbital fracture and conjunctival hyperemia. The other patient hit his head on the stairs and had a brief loss of consciousness," a dispatch nurse called out at that mont.

"Liu Yiqing, you take the first patient. Also, call an ophthalmologist. This is a specialist case; we can only provide ergency treatnt. Miao Rui, you take the second patient," Liu Banxia instructed.

Liu Yiqing nodded and began preparing for the patient’s arrival.

Ophthalmology was a rather special departnt, much like ENT. It could involve both dical and surgical treatnts and was a proper specialty. Moreover, ophthalmology departnts in various hospitals were currently very popular, as children’s vision problems were a great concern for parents.

After a short wait, the first patient was wheeled in.

"Seventeen-year-old male, assault victim. Vital signs stable. Blunt head trauma, fractured nasal bone, conjunctival hyperemia, suspected zygomatic fracture," the paradic reported.

"Take him to Ergency Room 1, just in case," Liu Yiqing said.

Just then, another ambulance arrived outside. Once the vehicle stopped, another patient was wheeled in, accompanied by police officers.

Recognizing this patient, Liu Banxia frowned. He rembered him—it was the father of the girl who had been sexually assaulted and treated by Liu Yiqing a few days ago.

Connecting this with the current situation, he could guess what had happened.

"Patient fell and hit his head, brief loss of consciousness, regained consciousness in the ambulance. Scalp laceration, vital signs currently stable," the paradic announced.

"Ergency Room 2. Perform a trauma assessnt after transfer," Miao Rui said.

"Officer, was it the previous patient who victimized this man’s daughter?" Liu Banxia asked the police officer.

The officer nodded. "However, we’re having so difficulty gathering evidence. We were still working on it when this happened. How did you know?"

"His daughter was treated in our hospital last ti. It was our doctors who noticed sothing was wrong," Liu Banxia explained.

"I’ll go check on the patient first; the conjunctival hyperemia looks quite severe. The boy’s family will probably arrive soon, right? You’ll need to maintain control of the situation."

The police officer nodded.

"How’s the situation?" Liu Banxia asked upon entering Ergency Room 1.

"Posterior nasal bleeding flowed into the trachea. We just intubated him," Liu Yiqing reported.

"From the current look of things, it seems like an orbital floor fracture with compression. President Liu, can you try to reduce the nasal fracture first? Then we’ll get a CT scan. We might have to operate imdiately, or his eye could be at risk," said Ma Lin from Ophthalmology.

"Alright, let take a look at the nose first," Liu Banxia nodded.

After a careful examination, without much further preparation, he directly manipulated the nose to reduce the fracture.

DING! Nasal fracture reduction complete.

Received 50 Experience Points, 50 Diagnostic Skill Proficiency Points, 100 Bone Setting Skill Proficiency Points.

"Send him for a CT scan. We can also see how the nasal reduction went. Let’s book an OR just in case. Thanks for your hard work, Doctor Ma," Liu Banxia said.

"It’s nothing. We haven’t had many patients these past few days," Ma Lin replied with a smile.

"Soone like him doesn’t deserve to be saved."

After the patient was wheeled away, Xu Yino blurted out angrily.

"You’re just saying that in anger. Anyone who cos here is a patient, and if they’re a patient, we have to save them," Liu Banxia said.

"What’s wrong?" Liu Yiqing asked curiously.

"He’s the one who victimized that little girl you treated the other day."

Even though Liu Banxia had shot her a look, Xu Yino still spilled the beans.

Liu Yiqing paused for a mont, then said nothing.

"Liu Yiqing, you need to answer a question for honestly. After this patient’s surgery, can you be responsible for his post-operative care?" Liu Banxia asked.

Liu Yiqing nodded. "Teacher Liu, don’t worry. To , he’s just an ordinary patient."

"Good, I trust you. Miao Rui, how’s the other patient?" Liu Banxia said.

"The head wound isn’t serious; the bleeding has stopped. He’s being sent for a CT scan now to check for any internal bleeding," Miao Rui reported.

Liu Banxia nodded again. Standard procedure.

"Teacher Liu, what’s going on?" Xu Yino sidled up to him.

"Liu Yiqing was the initial physician for the girl a few days ago, and this boy is the suspect in the assault. So, technically, there should be a recusal," Liu Banxia explained.

"However, because they were admitted at different tis and there’s no direct conflict of interest, I still had to ask her. You all need to rember this: when they co here, they are patients. Regardless of what they’ve done, we have to treat them."

The interns nodded. They had actually experienced sothing similar before—the patient who faked cancer and then stabbed Liu Banxia.

Even when Liu Banxia was so severely injured back then, he had still perford ergency surgery on that patient.

This was a doctor’s professional ethics. Everyone who ca for treatnt had only one identity: a patient. If they ca for treatnt, they needed a doctor’s help.

But Liu Banxia also had to inquire specifically to make things clear; it was also a reminder for Liu Yiqing.

She had been so emotional when treating the girl last ti, and he was worried she might transfer those feelings onto this patient.
