Liu Banxia took a good shower, because the stuff on him really didn't sll good. It was almost like he had finished shooting a horror movie. He wasn't even sure if today's task was a celebration for his departure.
Right now, he's eagerly hoping for quitting ti to co soon.
Anyway, he was going to slack off; his six little helpers could handle things for him. That's his secret to slacking off.
Of course, during the dayti, he would also check on the patients. Sotis he'd stroll around the ward, and sotis he'd just look at the information gathered by his six little helpers, which was fine too.
Slacking off is slacking off, but it shouldn't delay the patients' diagnosis and treatnt.
Humming a little tune, he put on a new white coat and ca out, seeing Wang Chao busy with so statistics, so he went over to join him.
"What are you busy with? Let's chat for a bit, it's almost quitting ti." Liu Banxia said.
"Go away, I have to prepare the materials. By the way, let's see if I can find any patterns in these patients' fecal transplant data, though it's very slim." Wang Chao said.
Liu Banxia nodded, "This job is indeed quite tedious, but just keep it up; the prospects are promising."
"Counting that patient with auto-brewery syndro, we already have seven patients who've undergone fecal transplants here." Wang Chao said.
"Other than the first patient with Clostridioides difficile doing quite well, the rest of these patients have had recurrent issues. The best after them would be the diarrhea-type irritable bowel syndro patients, the others show similar effects."
"Currently, there's still too little data to distinguish whether it's a case-by-case situation or a general reaction. The gut flora in the human body is too complex, and our fecal transplant is just a macro-level adjustnt."
"So, don't rush, just accumulate experience slowly." Liu Banxia said.
"Our fecal transplant has only been open for such a short ti, and we already have so many patients. In a year or two, how many will there be? By then the data will be clear."
"I can slowly research this; what's with you lately? How co you've beco so bold? It's only been a while, and you're doing another live surgery." Wang Chao said.
Liu Banxia rubbed his face, "It's not like I want to do it, or show off, but I had to. One was a femoral artery bleed, today it was a ss in the abdominal cavity."
"I was worried I'd get criticized on the way back, and I was afraid sothing might go wrong. But if I hadn't saved them at the ti, this patient surely wouldn't have had another chance."
"Anyway, think about it. Often walking by the river, your shoes will eventually get wet. It's best to make careful assessnts. If you really get into trouble, you won't get away unscathed." Wang Chao said.
"We don't have to view everyone as a bad person, but we can't see everyone as good people either. I just feel it's so dangerous, and you like to take action, daring to tackle anything."
Liu Banxia nodded, "Actually, on my way back, I thought about it and knew what I did was a bit risky. But even if I remind myself, if faced with such a situation again, how could I just stand by and watch?"
"Rushing in, if I don't do anything, I might regret it later. Fortunately, such situations aren't too common. It's the tough choices we encounter most often during admissions in our hospital."
"Today I ca across a crossover patient, ended up sending them to Old Chen. Early esophageal cancer, but the patient's body indicators weren't very good. Even Old Chen wasn't very confident, worrying about unexpected incidents during surgery."
"But there's no choice; given the patient's condition, surgical intervention is the only option. If not done, they might only have less than a year? That's if it doesn't progress too quickly."
"Anyway, since we're in this profession, we need to accept all kinds of challenges and eat whatever cos our way, like , enjoying every al."
Wang Chao chuckled, "If everyone had your appetite, Zhou Qiang would be the happiest. He was lanting during lunch about losing a regular diner at the cafeteria once you leave; he's losing soone who really digs in."
This ti, it was Liu Banxia's turn to feel helpless. He really eats a lot and is indeed very welcod by Zhou Qiang.
As Liu Banxia looked up, he happened to see Shi Lei coming over, and he quickly waved.
"Look at that beaming face of yours, waiting to get off work, huh?" Shi Lei asked.
"Boss, you truly have keen eyes, exactly, exactly, that's what I'm thinking." Liu Banxia said.
"When you have so free ti, how about treating Qiaoqiao and to a al? Any dietary restrictions? Is Qiaoqiao moving around comfortably now?" Shi Lei asked.
"She's fine, she doesn't really need to eat, just going out to hang out makes her happy." Liu Banxia said.
"Looks like there's been a major breakthrough, maybe you've secretly t the parents, huh? I actually forgot about that, and I bet Qiaoqiao hasn't had ti to ask either."
"It's not that fast, it's just that since we get along, let's just keep getting along well." Shi Lei said.
"There are quite a few burn patients today. My patient just finished surgery, but I transferred them to Xu Qixin. He's really good at organizing things and indeed has a unique approach to burns."
Liu Banxia nodded, "Director Xie ntioned it before; otherwise, there's no way so many patients would be sent to our hospital. Although other hospitals have burn departnts, there's still a bit of a gap."
"But I guess Sister Li will be busy, right? Our nurses don't have much experience in caring for burn patients. As for the new interns and resident nurses, who knows if they can handle it."
"Old Wang ntioned during surgery today that now Zhou Li is busier than he is when she goes ho. After all, it's the first year she's taken over, so she's understandably worried about making mistakes," Shi Lei said with a laugh.
"Also, these past two years are critical for the ergency center, and no one dares to slack off. When do you plan to transfer to the proctology departnt? Director Jiang was asking during lunch."
"I'll wait a bit before deciding. At least let enjoy a few carefree days first. I've been working so hard for so long; I should be able to relax a bit," Liu Banxia said.
Everyone couldn't do much about Liu Banxia's lazy attitude.
But they understood him; after all, his workload as a resident supervisor was enormous. Now he's taking a few days off as a sort of mini-vacation.
After chatting for a bit, Liu Banxia didn't want to hold anyone up any longer. He was restless and couldn't concentrate on anything, while everyone else had a pile of work to do.
Returning to his desk, as his first day officially on duty, he had only one patient, and it was a crossover case. He wasn't sure whether to feel lucky or worried.
Anyway, it's sothing. He thought his reputation was well-known, but actually, it's just whatever.
In the dical field, just because you've had a couple of impressive surgeries doesn't an you're accomplished. It really takes ti to build your reputation.
Lost in various thoughts, he thought of Xu Qixin again. As the saying goes, true talent always shines.
This ti, Xie Chunli dividing so many burn patients to the ergency center also indicates his confidence in Xu Qixin's abilities.
He wasn't worried about the deputy director position because, frankly, whether he or Xu Qixin gets it is a decision made at higher levels.
"Teacher Liu, what are you thinking about?"
At that mont, Xu Yino bounced over.
"Nothing much, why? Did your surgery go well today?" Liu Banxia asked.
Xu Yino nodded, "Field rescues are always so thrilling. I kinda want to follow the ergency vehicle, but then I think it might be too boring, so I give up."
"Going on calls isn't that easy; you never know what kind of patient you'll encounter. The equipnt on the vehicle is only for basic treatnt needs," Liu Banxia said.
"But if you're interested, you could follow for a few days and experience it. You might gain sothing extra, which could be considered for future training plans."
Xu Yino rolled her eyes, "Teacher Liu, what were you thinking when you perford open surgery right in the ambulance?"
"What else? Just taking a chance. If lucky, save the patient; if not, get a scolding," Liu Banxia said.
"Anyway, as doctors, whatever we do usually ends in one of two results. Treating and saving people is our duty. Do it well, no reward; ss it up, you're at fault."
"Don't always try to learn from ; I'm thick-skinned and don't mind being scolded. As long as my conscience is clear. You all are still young, just starting your dical careers. You've got a long way to go."
"Later, spend more ti in obstetrics and pediatrics. That's my upcoming focus. See how much I look after you? I haven't told anyone else, only you."
Xu Yino's face turned sour—was this looking after or setting a trap? A very obvious one.
Why focus on those two areas? It must have sothing to do with pediatric surgery. Obstetrics has newborns, and in pediatrics, it's all little children.
She would rather Liu Banxia focus more on others than suffer alongside him.
But she knew Liu Banxia was keen on developing in this area; as his student, whether she liked it or not, she had to be involved.
He would ask her up to the operating table, and if she wasn't prepared, wouldn't she be ridiculed by him? What about her dignity?
That's the toughest part of learning from Liu Banxia. This big boss always wants to challenge new difficulties, causing those who follow him to suffer.
Not just different subjects—like these field surgeries are no fun at all. Having tried it once, it was both exciting and terrifying."
